"Right now, I have more than enough time," Percy replied with a wide smile. Though this part of the evening came to an end, there was nothing forcing them apart just yet. Percy had been determined to spend as much time with her as he could. Though he hadn't shared too many of the details out of respect for his client, Percy had spoken to Marguerite about the case, about the gravity of it and the amount of time and work he would have to put into it. He had felt like Marguerite deserved to know how indisposed he would be, something he had never done before either, though it seemed like his relationship with her was full of many firsts.
Once everything was packed up, Percy placed the empty basket and the blanket in his trunk, before opening Marguerite's door and waiting for her to get in to close it again.
It was more or less implied that they would be going back to her place once they left the park. The word home struck him in a strange way, if only because it seemed interchangeable, as if it could refer to either of their places. Perhaps it was all due to that old cliche, of feeling like home was where the person you cared about was. Years ago, if someone had asked him how he felt about that cliche, he would have laughed and dismissed the idea. Oh how things have changed.
