The crime rate in Orange County at the moment truly was unsettling. Before she would have been unafraid to walk alone at night. She still wasn't exactly afraid, though she knew at the moment it was far too dangerous for that. So while watching the sun set had been wonderful, and as much as she would love to stay where she was with Percy, just watching the stars, Marguerite was well aware of the fact that they would need to pack up soon and leave. So much for the simple magic of the every day.
She also was aware that there was a case coming up and there wouldn't be much time to see Percy once that started up. It was the nature of the beast, though. Something she well understood. It would be a bit lonely, but she would make due. Besides, who could tell for sure what might happen, just because their picnic was done did not mean that the evening had to end. There was tea or wine at either apartment, so really, she wasn't going to be upset about the picnic ending just yet. Not that she would be anyway. It had been a wonderful surprise and way to spend Valentine's Day.
Helping with picking up the last bits of their picnic, Marguerite smiled up at Percy.
"If only."
Leaning into his touch, she returned the kiss before they had to leave. Really, she couldn't think of anything that would ruin this mood or happiness.
"Though there is always wine or tea at home if you're able to spare the time."
Teasing yet also an invitation. It was how they were.
