Elena nodded. She couldn't imagine the paychecks were huge at a place like this. She'd already decided that if she didn't get the paying job, she was going to see if Wrex could work out some weekend volunteer thing.
"Oh." She nodded. "I was in Uganda for a year. That's where I really started working with kids. I didn't really realize it was going to be as youth-focused as it was. I was in the Community Development program, which dealt a lot with kids transitioning from school to work. There were orphans and kids on the street that we helped stay safe. Taught people to read... Y'know it's stuff that I never would've thought I was 'qualified' to do until there's nobody else to do it and somebody's just saying 'You're the new soccer coach!' You just do it."
