Summary: A first meeting.
Status: Closed, incomplete.
Vilya had heard about the event through work and she had arranged to be able to go. Instead of going by her own name alone, she wanted to go as a representative as of the Outreach Centre, not in any real official capacity but just because she was proud to be able to list that organisation on the badge they required her to wear. Vilya had only been in the employ of the office for less than a month, but she was already quite invested in the place. Her eyes scanning the room, there wasn't any faces that she was familiar with, but that was to be expected and she never shied away from new situations. Vilya had always been social, right from childhood, and with the strange, sheltered life she led, she liked the opportunity to put herself out there and met the kinds of people she wanted to know. The people here, she liked to believe, were good people. Of course, not everyone donates to charity out of the goodness of their hearts, but she never made a habit out of judging people without enough information, and even so, she preferred to just stay out of unsavoury business as a rule. With a gentle hand, she held the fabric of her dress up just enough to walk, moving through the clustered groups of people, greeting them as she passed, pausing to introduce herself when asked, but she kept walking. Vilya always preferred to meet people individually; it helped her to remember them better. She made small little conversations with various people, smiling warmly before they split. As the evening passed, Vilya met a large number of people, but ever sociable, she hadn't disappeared back to her table, even after hours passed. Moving to introduce herself to yet another person, she put on her signature smile as she approached the man. "Good evening," she greeted. |
