Christina was doing well to keep her composure. It undoubtedly spoke much to how she'd been raised that she hadn't simply just devolved into sobbing hysterics. The tears were coming, however, but she would just remain attached to Cora until they were safe and she was with her mother again.
Fighting against the grain wasn't working well, or at all, so Helena just remained on the outside desperately watching the people trying to force their way out. She was coughing, evidence to the fact she'd inhaled a bit of smoke. Her oxford shirt was a loss, though. Not only was there a decent tear in it, her blood was starting to stain it. It definitely was going to need medical attention. And luckily, the sirens she'd heard were indeed rescue people. Fire fighters were first on the scene.
Helena looked at the people trying to force their way in and she spotted Christina who was attached to a young woman. Instant relief came over her and she dropped her hand from her wound.
"Christina!!" She cried out before coughing again. This time, Christina heard her.
"Mummy!!" She called back, though she didn't let go of Cora. She wasn't about to get lost when they were so close to the exit.
