Who: Isabela, Leliana, and Mai a thief! What: A suspicious little thing tries to take from Isabela's boat. When: Recent! Where: What Isabela wishes was her pirate ship! Rating/Warnings: Medium, mentions of previous sexy times. Status: Complete!
Aside from a darling friend, Isabela was quite the bedfellow; a little somethingsomething on the side Leliana had no problem indulging in every once in awhile. “Never fail to disappoint, do you now?” A teasing smile was sent her way with a wink, slinking off the bed to pull together her belongings. They had a grand time tumbling among her sheets, but now it was time for the redhead’s departure - she never stayed long, had always something to do somewhere.
Coming to these parts wasn’t meant to be a vacation. There was plenty to do, much to take care of, and in that, she was scarcely bored. What a mess to stumble into, but awfully exciting all at once! And it wasn’t like she had suspicious intentions all the time, either. People she cared about called his place home, and Leliana did what she could to lend a hand.
For example: “How has your casino man been doing, hmm?”
"My casino..." Isabela was an expert when it came to sexual relations of any type, really, but what she and Leliana had just gotten up to had actually rattled her brain cells around so much that she was almost certain a few had died. Of ecstacy, of course.
She sat up in bed and stretched a bit, while trying to bang them together enough to suss out what she meant. OH, right. "Ganon, you mean? Blast that man. He's as handsome and as secretive as ever, with that danger that runs right under the surface. One of these days he's going to make nice with me and then strangle me, and that'll be it. Poof! Isabela's life, over and done. What a way to go, though, eh? But you know, we haven't really indulged lately. Just the once, to make me feel better about losing that big ship."
And it had been off, but Isabela wasn't sure in what way. Like he hadn't really enjoyed himself, which wasn't something that happened to people when Isabela was their bed mate.
Isabela made light with the situation with words that sounded as if she were joking, but the probability of something like that actually happening was higher than she’d like to admit. Not many things happened to make Leliana uncomfortable, but that? Certainly did.
“It’s all giggles and jokes until that actually does happen, you know,” she said, smoothing the mess of sexed up ginger hair. With a bounce, those lace panties came sliding right back up to comfortably hug her hips, and she began finagling with the nuisance of a bra. “Sleeping with the enemy is such a dangerous game, Bela. Not a terrible way to die, in bed with an excellent lover, but…”
Now that she was dressed in undergarments, Leliana put a knee to the bed and leaned in, a hand going to caress the other woman’s chin. “He seems like the kind of man that wants something else, aside from the flower between your legs.”
The caress made Isabela purr, and she daydreamed for a few seconds about luring the redhead back into her bed for another round. Of course the reality of the situation was that Leliana was a very very busy little bee, and Bela knew once the woman had her underwear back on, it was all over.
Of course there was also the conversation at hand, which seemed a little too heavy for her tastes, "I'm not sure you understand what me and Ganon have been up to, sweetling. First of all, it hardly ever involves beds. And second of all, I doubt he's the enemy. He's just an old acquaintance and casino owner, isn't he?"
But her brain was rustling itself a little more into gear, and she frowned, “He did mention a few times that he wanted a boat… and that he wanted to know what I was really up to.”
Leliana did her best to bite back a sigh.
“And has that not set any alarms for you?” Oh, she wasted no time doing her homework around here. Pinpointing names of interest had been on her list of ‘things to do,’ as well as developing proper dossiers on each and every one of them should she need to arm herself with a secret for a weapon.
Though as it turns out, everyone she knew had dirt and blood on their hands, and a devil’s claw hooked to them. Some had not even noticed. It was...concerning.
“You do know what he does, no? Dominates and expands, and not very nicely.” Fingers threaded through Isabela’s dark hair, before one crossed her cheeks and bopped her gently on the nose. “If he wants a boat, Bela, he will get a boat. And he will take everything that comes with it.”
"I try not to get too involved in everyone else's business, Leli." Bela thought that was a good way to survive. Keep your head down and do your thing, let other people involved in criminal activity do the same. But perhaps this was one time when she should have been paying more attention. She wrinkled her nose a bit, "Shite, I really hate dealing with this sort of thing. He may want my boat but he's not bloody having it. Not without a fight anyway."
She threw the blankets off and hopped off of bed, herself, then started going through her own motions of getting dressed, "That better not have been the only reason we fucked, or I'm going to be a little put out."
Oh, Leliana’s philosophy was quite the opposite. She loved people’s business! Especially if she didn’t belong in it. There was always a hidden gem somewhere, waiting to be carefully unveiled should your eyes be keen enough.
Despite the circumstance, Bela’s reaction earned a little giggle, lips flaring into a smile as she hopped off the bed with her with a bounce. “Of course he’ll have to fight for it! If you have a true love, Isabela, it is this thing.” It was the only thing she’d ever seen the woman so smitten with anyway. Better to love an inanimate vessel than to be in deep with shady scum; she had guessed her relationship with Ganon was strictly sexual, and she was rather relieved to hear it confirmed.
Otherwise there’d be more trouble, and Leliana did not have enough tylenol for the colossal headache that could bring.
She stepped into her dress, zipped it back, and pulled her hair from out under it. “But I did not come here for just that, you know.” A saunter with a light sway of her hips led her to Isabela, and she placed a sweet kiss against her cheek. “I had a craving that required satisfaction, is all.”
"I'm always here to satisfy your cravings, sweetling. You know that, of course! We're having too much fun to get sore over a lecture or two. Anyway, I probably deserved it. You know me, I think with two heads instead of one and the lower one always wins," Bela admitted, with a bit of a laugh.
She reached a hand out to smooth the other woman's hair into place, but paused mid-gesture. When a person sailed the same vessel as long as she had, there were certain things about it that they became very familiar with. The movement of it, for instance, when more than one person was on it. The sounds that echoed through it that were more than just the lapping of the water nearby.
Isabela reached under her mattress and pulled out a pistol, her tone deadly serious. "Did you hear that?"
Compared to Isabela, Leliana’s knowledge when it came to boats and ships and whatnot was...negligible. And she may have heard something, but she wouldn’t have thought it’d be cause for a reaction like that. Good thing she trusted Bela’s intuition, however, and quickly stuck her hands into her purse to retrieve a set of throwing knives, tucking them between each finger.
“I may have, I’m not sure. But aren’t you glad we had this conversation?” Impeccable timing, whatever this was - if it was a threat. Leliana wasn’t sure, but it never hurt to proceed with caution. One slip up could mean a bullet to the head or a knife in the back, and she was fond of neither scenarios.
"I'll be sure to thank you, assuming we survive this," Isabela quipped. The thing about this situation was basically the following: Her boat had a great deal of extremely hot merchandise on it, and it was her job to get it into the right hands. She was going to make a lot of enemies if it went missing, and she needed that boat. Not just for her livelihood. It was also her home.
So anyone on the boat at all that she didn't invite? Was serious business. She crouched down a bit, and crept towards the door, which lead out of the captain's cabin and towards the center living area. She cracked the door open just slightly, and peered through it.
What she saw amused her. A young woman with short hair was standing there, wearing a cat suit and some kind of mask over her face. The girl was quickly trying to shove some valuables into her pocket. Bela arched a brow and motioned Leliana forward. If they were quick, they could catch the thief in the act.
Stealth was a gift, and Leliana proceeded with silence, her movement like a ghost’s. At any given moment she was ready to fling the series of blades and she had always thought her aim was rather impressive, but practice was always good, wasn’t it? Depending on the route this took, that’s what this all would be: practice.
But that was an interesting sight and her blush lips curled in dry amusement. How adorable. A cat burglar. Bullets might be a bit much for the little thing, so a little intimidation was in order in the form of a letting a knife loose, whizzing through the air with the intent of slicing the bag of valuables.
“Rude kitten, where’s your mother at?” Must have been a stray from the nonsense of the outside, creeping in and thinking she was able to handle a bit of boat infiltration.
The knife flew through the air unimpeded, slicing through the bag of goodies that the thief was holding up. Her hand quickly reached out to catch it as it fell, bungling it a bit and forcing her to bounce around on her feet in an attempt to keep it from hitting the floor.
The cat was, it seemed, much less graceful than a real one. But her hand caught hold of it, and she laughed, "I didn't have a mother, what's your excuse?"
Isabela snorted. This was definitely not enough serious business for a gun, and she doubted that pulling a weapon like that would actually intimidate the teen. Kids. They always thought they were invincible. "Right, well, she's a mouthy little kitten and she's still got my things. Shall I call the police, do you think?"
Sassy, wasn’t she? Leliana cocked her head to the side with a scrunched nose and narrowed eyes. “She’s certainly not afraid of us with a tongue like that. We can get your things and make her walk the plank? Do you even have a plank?” Sounded like a wonderful idea! Teach her a lesson, it’d be rather be funny.
“Best you drop everything you’ve got,” she advised, glancing back at the girl, “and carry along. You’re more than welcome to test us, but I doubt you’d like the burn of a bullet anywhere on you.” It was all intimidation. Mostly. Drawing blood seemed a bit too much for the kid, but she wasn’t afraid to nick an arm or leg to give her a scare, either.
"I don't have a plank, but I do have a pistol, you nasty little thief, and I'll definitely shoot you with it if you don't hand it all over right now." Isabela brandished the pistol, though she really had no intention of using it. She was a good shot and it wasn't like there'd be holes in her boat. But she was on the same page as Leli was with this. She glanced at her friend, and nodded slightly.
Perhaps a bit of a scare and some bloodshed was in order, if the little cat didn't leave the premises soon.
"No I... really don't like the idea of a bullet anywhere," The girl replied, her eyes widening. In the back of her mind, she was quickly assessing the situation. Of course she was no mere cat burglar. Ganon had sent her there with a mission and she'd been more than happy to take advantage of the Captain's distraction with her lovely red headed friend.
Now she needed to make a believable escape. Her free hand went up into the air, and she made a motion like she was going to drop the little bag of goodies on the floor. Then, she bolted for the exit. The bag of goodies was still in hand, though she dropped it as she sprang for the stairs that lead up to the deck.
Quick on her feet, Leliana bolted after her, feet bare and hitting the ground, and then quickly stopped at the drop of the bar and all the goods she had intended to steal. Energy would be spend pointlessly chasing the girl, but she gave an odd glance up the stairs before turning around.
“That was interesting,” she commented dryly. “Odd place for a street urchin to steal from, I’ll admit.” And Leliana may have been a sucker for the unfortunate sometimes - she liked fighting for the underdog; the poor and the discriminated, and she’d seen plenty of young things walk down the wrong path due to bad circumstance. Sometimes she’d pick some strays up, polish them and put them to use - give them a choice of her life, or something better, but this kitten had fled and was long gone.
The thief's footprints could be heard running off the boat and onto the dock as Leliana spoke. It was clear she was running away from them, and Isabela wondered for a minute if she cared enough to alert the marina security. After all, she couldn't have been the only boat docked there that the girl had found tempting.
Her brows furrowed a bit, "That was indeed interesting. And a little desperate. It'll take me a bit to sort through all of this but just looking over it all, I don't think anything else is missing. The jewels were really the only portable thing."
There were paintings and crates of goods, but a cat burglar wasn't likely to grab those kinds of things out of a contained space without help. "She was clearly working alone, I wonder if I was the only victim today."
“A little thing like that doesn’t seem like she has the resources to hit multiple places at once.” Leliana knelt down to pick up a few items to examine. Just things to sell, nothing entirely specific, she didn’t think. “Though coming on a boat? She’s ambitious.”
Not your typical burglar, either. She didn’t seem armed, she didn’t look intimidating at the least - but she looked rather slippery, and Leliana could see how she could have snuck past some security. “Still, darling, you should up your muscle around these parts. She might be the first, but she won’t be the last.”
Something in Isabela's gut told her that Leliana was right. If some slip of a girl could raid her boat, then she definitely needed to be more careful. But it also seemed like something about the entire encounter was off. She didn't like feeling like she'd just been played. It left a sour taste in her mouth, "I'm going to have to hire someone to look after the place. Especially in light of your little conversation with me previously. I've gone and stepped in it, I suppose. Made a few more dangerous friends than I should have."
She was looking through her inventory as she spoke, but so far everything was present. “Nothing’s even a hair out of place, at least. I’d REALLY be in it if I’d gone and lost my merchandise. But that seems suspicious, doesn’t it?”
“The more you describe it to be suspicious, the more inclined I am to agree with you,” she said, eyes narrowing up the staircase their little ‘friend’ had sprinted up. Now she had regrets swirling for not following her and throwing her to the ground for an interrogation, just in case the foul smell they had held some validity behind it.
No point in following now, as it was far too late, and Leliana turned her head to offer her dear friend a smirk. “I really can’t deny that you can show me a good time.” In bed and outside of it, if they wanted to be specific. But she was here to help and wasn’t about to let Bela drown without her beloved water vessel, either.
"And you haven't even seen me at my best yet," Bela quipped. Despite how fishy everything was, she was grinning. Part of her wanted to use this as an excuse to lure her friend off to bed again for a little comforting. But she needed to take inventory, and Leliana had all of her mysterious business to get up to.
She made shooing motions at her friend with her hands, "Go on and get to work, luv. Lord knows we've both got enough to do now."
