Who: Isabela & Rose What: Girls Night of Drinking! When: December 29th Where: A bar in Laguna Beach Rating: PGish Status: Complete upon posting!
Feeling excited and a bit nervous, Rose hailed a taxi cab right outside the flat to take her to the bar she was meeting Isabela at in Laguna Beach. When she had gone with Pete, she had thoroughly enjoyed herself and had a sneaky suspicion Isabela might enjoy it as well. They may have been a little cheesy in their drinks, but they were strong, and Isabela seemed the sort of lady who enjoyed a well mixed drink. Rose had only spoken to her a couple of times on the network, but had enjoyed her strong presence. She didn’t write like a lot of the others did, with such passion and conviction; Rose could tell of her self confidence in only a couple of posts. It was certainly someone she would want to meet in person and have a fun night out!
At the same time, Rose felt a little self conscious of herself, wondering how she might be construed. She certainly wasn’t a party animal, but she wasn’t a Mary Sue either. Relax, just have a good time; a night out with the girls! Well, she had never really done that before, but better late than never, right?
Stepping out of the taxi, she tossed him a few bills before heading inside and out of the cold. The music was playing loudly and she couldn’t help but smile as she flashed the security guard her ID; it felt good to have a legitimate one rather than her fake. She glanced around the seas of faces, trying to find one that stood out. Not seeing her, she made her way to the bar and made a spot, ordering one of the fru-fru drinks most girls drank there. She sat on the bar stool, half twirling around on it, and glanced towards the door, waiting for Isabela to arrive.
Rose didn't have to wait long. Isabela headed through the door a few seconds after Rose was seated, sauntering in with exactly the amount of confidence that usually bled into her internet posts. It was fun girl's night, or so Isabela had surmised, and she'd decided to wear a pair of skin tight jeans. Along with a brightly colored, very daringly low cut top that shimmered and sparkled. Bela was a fan of jewelry, too, and she'd donned some large pieces that showed off her indian culture.
The man at the door hadn't bothered to card her, but that didn't bother her. She had a wink for him and a smirk for anyone who caught her eye, and she shouted as she headed up to the bar, "I hear this is the best bar for Rum! I hope you're going to prove me right, loves. Let's start with two glasses, yeah? Whatever's the most popular. I'll just sit here and admire your work."
She flashed a winning grin at the bartender, then leaned on the bar and waved at Rose, who looked pretty much like her profile picture, "And now that's settled, you're Rose, right?" Rose couldn’t help but laugh at Isabela’s entrance. It was everything she would have expected from her network friend, her personality bursting in as it seemed to do online as well. “Yeah, I’m Rose. There’s no doubt who you are! It’s nice to meet you in person!” She raised her glass in a cheers to her arrival. “Glad you could come out today! I hope you had fun with your, um, appointment before me?”
The first glass of rum was raised up in a toast to Rose, and Isabela knocked back at least half of the contents before she set it down and giggled a bit, "Oh yes. I had oodles of fun with him. On his desk. I hope the security cameras were still on, it's always so funny to give people the kind of show they really weren't expecting. Lots of people get all twitterpated and hot under the collar about that kind of thing."
Clearly, Bela had no shame. She twirled her glass around on the countertop a bit, "And have you had any luck with finding your own cabin boy?"
Rose felt her eyebrows raise as she took a sip of her drink. How could Isabela make it so interesting and naughty at the same time? Well, that’s easy enough… “Glad you had a good time,” she said, trying to act cool in a way she definitely didn’t feel. She looked over at her at the question and laughed. “No, no new cabin boy for this girl. Was still hoping to share yours if you ever found a spare.” She smiled, trying to make it seem like she didn’t care.
“But that’s why we’re here tonight yeah? Maybe we can find some people to have some fun with?” It was a territory Rose wasn’t too comfortable with, but was definitely down to try, especially with such an expert with her.
"Sadly, I've been going through a bit of a dry spell when it comes to the male cabin boys," Isabela admitted with a bit of a sigh. She didn't look that put out, mainly because she was getting plenty of the female variety anyway, "The man I've just been to visit with isn't much for openly sharing with the public, so he's out of the question. Which is a shame, really, because he's hot."
To emphasize how hot Ganon was, Isabela put her finger against her behind and made a sizzling nose, "Like that hot. Smoking arse hot. But he's picky, which makes it sort of odd that he prefers me at all. Anyway!"
And she held up her glass again, to take a sip before she continued, "Tell me what sort of cabin boy you prefer, for starters."
Rose couldn’t help but giggle at how she described her latest victory. It was sort of a nervous giggle as she had never talked about sexual conquests with any of her friends, let alone a new mate she had just met on the network! Bela didn’t seem abashed at all and Rose tried to hide her innocence. “So he’s just kind of a...fling?” Rose couldn’t remember the last time she had a boyfriend, let alone a passing one night stand. Actually, was the last relationship Mickey? She shook her head to clear her mind when she realized Bela was asking her something. “What do I prefer?” She laughed, tilting her head and taking another sip of her drink, thinking about it. “I dunno,” she said in all honesty. Maybe that was why she had never had many boyfriends, she didn’t really know what she wanted. “I suppose any sort that most girls like!” Her mind immediately turned to John, thinking how he wasn’t really a part of the stereotypical set.
“I dunno, I’m easy.”
That made Isabela giggle, though she understood that Rose was an innocent and didn't realise the other definitions of the word 'easy'. "Well lets see... I personally prefer them dark and mysterious and built, you know? Like roman gods or something. Ganon's like that, he's arabian or something like that, and it's sexy as hell. But there's some what like blonde people, or who have a type of body or personality they like, yeah? I think all kinds of shapes, sizes, and colors can be sexy if the personality is good."
She glanced around the bar again, and motioned to one of the people sitting there. He was a man with tanned skin and black hair, which was short but well styled. "Like that there, that's something I'd go for. He's got himself well groomed enough that you know he cares about making an effort, but he's not wearing things so expensive that you know he's some rich arse who thinks too much of himself."
Rose thought about what she liked in a person and shrugged. “I dunno, I mean...I think you’re right that a personality goes a long way!” She thought of John and how he could make her laugh and smile over the smallest things. He was a rather handsome chap as well, with his crazy hair and that smile that seemed to light up his whole face.
Rose blinked when Bela pointed out someone in the bar and turned to look at him. She gave another shrug. “He’s pretty. I definitely like dark hair, maybe a little bit longer?” It felt strange looking at the men in the bar and trying to find what attracted her more. She felt like Bela had been right, it didn’t really matter what they looked like if the personality was good. “I dunno, that guy is hot enough.” She looked at Bela and laughed. “I’m rubbish at this!”
"You really are, aren't you? Look at you, my mouth is watering and you're barely interested." Isabela teased. She winked across the bar at the man and then shook her head at her situation and giggled, "Well alright, we're not finding you a cabin boy tonight. I can tell, you're the sort that needs to have some emotions attached, aren't you? Maybe you've even already got someone in mind, yeah?"
The woman gave Rose a knowing smirk and waved for another round of drinks, "Tell me all about it, petal. Go on, don't be shy."
“I don’t want to ruin your night because my hotness meter is off! This was suppose to be fun for the two of us!” She grinned, watching as Bela was able to make that grown man blush. Rose glanced at her new friend, knowing they had somewhat talked about this already. She didn’t want to get into it and bring her strange relationship with John into the conversation; Isabela didn’t deserve that! “I dunno Isabela, I don’t wanna bring down the whole night!” She took her new drink and took a sip. “Why don’t you tell me more about your techniques? Maybe I’ll find someone in here that catches my fancy!” She grinned, wanting to show she was being a good sport about it.
Isabela seemed like the kind of girl who could let loose and have fun and that’s why Rose had invited her out; she just wanted a girls night to have fun and laugh. She glanced around the bar and saw someone that caught her eye. “What about him?” He was a medium build, muscular arms, dark hair and clean shaven. “I could fancy that!”
"Oooo, you and me both," Isabela purred. She was happy enough to change the subject if Rose was, though she knew there was something her new friend wasn't telling her. It was probably none of her business, either. Isabela knew when to pry and when to leave it alone.
So she grinned at Rose, and then waved a hand in the air, "Alright then, techniques. Here's the most important thing! If you're a nice girl, which you are - You've got to look for a wedding ring! Good start, right? And if there isn't one, you look for a tan line, because sometimes married men like to take theirs off. You don't want any of that mess. And see -- he's single! Or at least not married."
Bela indicated his hand, which they could see clenched around a drink. "Now you've just got to catch his eye."
Rose smiled, happy to have found something that she could relate to with Isabela. Talk of what was going on with her other relationship would be better in a less social setting than what they had chosen for tonight. For now, she wanted to have fun and learn some techniques from her.
Her eyes grew wide when she mentioned looking for a tan line. “A tan line? As in someone would come looking for someone while married?” She shook her head. “I’ve never thought of that before!” Not that she was really thinking of finding a serious relationship in a bar, but it was a sticky situation she didn’t even want to bother with.
She glanced over at the guy, smiling and then looking at Isabela. “How do I do that? Just start talking to him?” It’s what she would usually do if she found someone interesting while she was out. Truth be told though, she was rubbish at picking guys up. She seemed more the ‘I’ll be a great friend’ girl rather than ‘I’ll be someone you wanna sleep with’.
"Oh of course they do, married men. They're a bunch of desperate bastards, most of them. They've alienated their wives and aren't getting any, so they come out to a club to find some pretty young thing to forget their so-called awful life with," Isabela replied, with a snort. Even SHE knew that kind of thing was wrong, and she had very loose morals. Extremely loose ones.
Loose enough to sleep with a married man anyway because desperation made for some unforgettable nights. Even though it was still wrong. She didn't mention that, though, and instead tried to come up with some techniques for Rose, "Well you've got to be at least a bit yourself, or it won't really work. So if talking to him is what you'd do, you should start with that! A lot of it's about flirting with your eyes while you're chatting him up."
Isabela demonstrated by grinning at Rose and flirting at the woman with her own eyes. Moving her head a bit, just subtly, half-lidding them and winking her eyelashes a few times, "Like that, yeah?"
"And then you just stand a bit closer than usual, like this." And she stepped a bit closer, so that she was just inside Rose's personal space, "So we're having a normal conversation, but if you were into women you'd know I was interested, see."
Rose didn’t usually pick men up from bars and hearing Bela’s warnings made her happy for that. She felt like she was completely inexperienced and was grateful for her advice. Rose looked between the guy and Bela, nodding her head at her suggestions. It was true, she would rather find someone she liked by being herself; almost letting the guy know what he was getting himself into.
The thought brought a smile to her face and she looked at Bela as she demonstrated how to flirt with the eyes. It seemed so natural for Bela to do and Rose felt herself blush. “How do you do that?” Rose tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, looking at Bela and then anywhere but her. “I’m gonna try doing that and look like I’m just spazzin’ out!” She took a bigger swig of her drink, knowing she might need a little liquid courage to help her through this.
“I think you have many more years experience on me, I dunno if I can do this!”
"Well, it's true! I do have lots of experience. But don't let that intimidate you!" Bela said, while stepping back a bit. Now that her demonstration was over, she felt that Rose deserved to have her personal space back. At least as much space as anyone was getting in a bar like this.
"How do I- well, I guess I just sort of imagine that the person I'm flirting with and me are the only two people in the room, and my job is to get the other person to feel that way just by the way I'm looking at them. But you're not going to get here unless you practice! It's alright to spazz out, too, you know. This is supposed to be fun, you'll get the hang of it, and learning to laugh at yourself is all part of the game."
Rose realized she was just overthinking it and letting her nerves get the better of her. Bela was so strong, so sure of herself that the men in the bar just seemed to sense it. She knew what she wanted and she wouldn’t take no for an answer. Rose nodded her head, downing the rest of her drink and then making a face; she wasn’t use to so much at once. “Right. Have fun, be myself, I can do that.” She was loosening up like she was about to go out and have a boxing tournament. “I’m gonna do it. I’m gonna talk to the guy!” She looked at Bela and gave her a big grin. “Wish me luck!”
"Good luck! You're gonna be aces!" Isabela declared. She made shooing motions with her hands, almost like she was a mother hen encouraging her little bird to leave the nest and get out there, "Now go on! I'll be right here, you know. If it goes badly we'll just drink it off and have a laugh!"
Isabela watched Rose go, and perched herself against the bar. That way she could offer encouragement and support while her friend was trying to flirt with the man. It probably wouldn't be the first time that night that they did this, but she was going to make sure they had fun!
