Both of them always seemed to forget that Clara was the actual boss of the family. They could pretend all they liked that they had a say in these matters, but in the end, Clara was the victorious one. And it was always for their own good.

As Troy once again reassured her that John would be fine, Clara just sighed and rested her head against his arm. He usually was the best at getting her to stop worrying. John was good at talking her down out of a fit of rage but when she was worried or upset, Troy tended to be the one who got through the layers of worry. "I hope so."

I get that all the classes are basically mandated but I would think things being less focused on scores could make it not nearly as stressful and maybe students would enjoy learning more." It was hard to say. She didn't have that much experience with the American school system yet. But from what she had seen and read? "It does. I look forward to being able to choose my own books for the upcoming year. I came in the middle of the year so had to stick with what was already chosen. Rules of course, but I can work with those."
