"My days of Jammie Dodgers for lunch are behind me, I promise." That had been more a secondary school habit because really, who eats smart when they're in secondary school? Grab something that doesn't require any prep work and you were good. Now? Not so much. Still he promised her lunch if she found him Jammie Dodgers and she was going to find them just for that fact. Even if they both knew she could probably just pout and he'd relent regardless. It would feel good to find them just to have said she did.
As she wandered and got lost in thought, Clara half listened to the story on how he got the book, smirking as she looked over her shoulder back to him at the comment on his researching of the book and then how much he had spent on it.
"Do I even want to know how much is far too much?"
Probably not. But she also wasn't terribly shocked that Troy would end up spending money on such a find. He'd be mad not to, really. Or responsible with money if he hadn't. No matter. Teasing him about overspending was all part of the fun.
"Right, no taking it out of the case. Got it."
Bouncing in excitement on the balls of her feet, Clara gave a curt nod to show she understood (a salute would have felt wrong now) and headed up to the office while Troy went to make the tea. It was a typical office, but there it was. A first edition in a case. What a beauty.
