At the response, Helena went into her purse, pulling out her wallet, then a photograph that she handed to Harley. Indeed, the girl was almost perfectly Helena's mirror image. The girl's hair and eyes were equally as dark as Helena's, and the bone structure was similar to Helena's, though slightly different. "She's been my world since I discovered I was pregnant with her."
It was immensely easier on Helena that Christina looked more like her than her father. Helena probably would have had a very difficult time of it if Christina had been the spitting image of her father. Some days Helena was able to forget about him entirely, but on most days, that anger and pain still lingered a bit.
"Perhaps. Still, some men I have been on a date with have up and left when I've mentioned I have a child." She shrugged a shoulder a bit. "The couple women I've been out with haven't minded that so much, and now I am able to add you to that number." Helena smiled.
Of course the only reason Helena wasn't currently in a relationship with someone was her fear of commitment and thinking the other person would up and leave her as suddenly and coldly as Christina's father had. It was certainly a fear she'd need to work through if she wanted to approach a serious relationship. And as far as Helena was concerned, Harley had already earned a second date given her response to Christina's existence.
