The flirting hadn't been her initial intention. Helena had just wanted to offer some comfort. Her own dreams were rather strange, but no where near what Harley had described hers as being like. But she wasn't going to think about dreams when she had a date.
A very unexpected date, but it was a date. As much as she approached dates with ultimate caution after having been dumped like a sack of hot potatoes nine years earlier, she was going to see what came out of this. After all, she knew she needed a social life. So she got dressed, taking a bit too long to pick something out. Really, she didn't exactly do dates much anymore, she was rusty. But eventually, with Christina's input, Helena dressed in a pair of nice pants and a low-cut sleeveless shirt, giving a nice hint of cleavage yet also remaining on the classier side. With light make-up on and her hair having product in it to give it a bit more body, she waited for the babysitter to arrive. Luckily it was one she trusted to protect Christina if the current crime wave decided to spill into the neighborhood while she was gone.
Kissing Christina good night, Helena finally headed off to meet Harley. She arrived right around the designated time. Stepping into the restaurant, she brushed a hand through her hair and looked around for her date, feeling more than a bit nervous.
And she constantly told herself to not talk about her daughter the entire time. She learned quite quickly that was the easiest way to ruin a date more often than not.
