Always flippant, Sherlock rarely ever complimented someone blatantly, and oftentimes, any praise from him was accidental. People rarely impressed Sherlock in any sort of way, and whether that was hubris or antisocial behaviour, it was true that very few people ever made a lasting impression on him.

The landlord was frequently mucking about the building and Sherlock didn't exactly make it his business to interrupt his peculiar rituals, though he had taken the time to memorise them. The man was utterly predictable and with a quick glance at his watch, Sherlock knew exactly where he was to be found: just returned to his own flat after inspecting the fusebox in the basement. With that, Sherlock lead the way to the landlord's flat which also served as his office.
