She was quite looking forward to a time when she could have him as close as she wanted, but it was enough to remind her she wasn't alone. She hoped she would never have to be. Quietly, she began tracing aimless patterns on his leg with her index finger.
"I believe you're good for me, Mr. Tethras."
As damaged as she often felt, he had a way of making her forget her failings. Or at least view them in a softer light. She was still fragile, but she knew she was getting stronger. She also knew she owed the change to his presence in her life.
