Rose smiled at Troy, taking a quick liking to him. She wasn't sure if it was because of his familial relationship to John or from the fact that he seemed like a fun chap. She had never heard the use of 'amalgamation' in the same conversation as fort making.
She laughed, shaking her head. "All blankets and chairs, but boxes aren't a bad idea! We'd just have to find somewhere to get some." She thought about it for a minute, wondering where they get said boxes. "You'll have to join us next time for our fort building! It'll be wonderful!" She grinned, walking back towards the kitchen and popping her head in. "Could you put some water on the stove? I think some cups of tea would be lovely!" She gave John a playful wink, before returning to Troy.
"John's gonna get a pot going," she said, settling on the couch, tucking her leg underneath her. "And no, not a student. Sadly dropped out of school before I could even take my A-levels! Been working all sorts of retail jobs. We actually met on the network! Started chatting and he tracked me down at my job and we've been inseparable ever since!" Her smile was genuine, thinking about her relationship with her flatmate. If she really thought about it, it was actually crazy how short a time they've known each other; she considered him her best mate but they had only met earlier that month. "I have to admit, I'm rather fond of him." Her grin probably gave off her true feelings, that she was a little more than fond of John.
"But how are you liking California? Your new position as a professor over here?"
