Rose had finally come around the bend from feeling under the weather, just in time for the dinner with Troy. She had been looking forward to this ever since she had chatted with him on the network. A family member of John's, here in the same area! She couldn't really say why, but it was exciting for her.
To be honest, she wasn't prepared for how early John was getting ready for their guest. She had been sleeping when she heard the front door shut and the sound of movement coming from the kitchen. She glanced at the clock and realized the time, yawning and stretching. If he asked, she was still coming around from the cold so she needed a few more hours of sleep. She was about to close her eyes again when she heard him shout of her. She groaned a little before flinging the covers off (the only way she could convince herself to get out of bed) and shuffled to the door.
Her hair still tousled, she opened the door and squinted out. "Oi, don't you think it's a little early to start making everything?" she asked, not knowing what time Troy would actually be over. As her eyes adjusted to the light in the room, she noticed that their fort had been taken down. "Aw, you took down the fort? Troy might've liked that!" She opened the door more and shuffled out, rubbing her eyes.
"Custard, yeah, sure, custard's good." She leaned against a counter and watched as John bustled around. "Do ya need help then?"
