When: December
Where: Will and Jem’s place
What: Christmas Decorating!
Rating/Warnings: Low
Status: Complete
Will really rather liked Christmas. Okay, he was a Christmas obsessive. He loved it all, decorating, singing, everything. So he’d decided to decorate the apartment while Jem was out. The tree was up and covered in tinsel, lights and hanging decorations and he was just finishing off hanging mistletoe from everything he could.
So far, since the revelation that the three of them all felt the same there had been a lack of action that Will wanted to rectify. Therefore he’d decided the answer to that was mistletoe. After all they couldn’t ignore tradition right?
Tessa headed up to Will and Jem’s apartment, tucking the keys of her car away in her handbag as she went. She couldn’t help but smile to herself as she did. Things were good. The three of them slowly relaxing into the new level of their new relationship. Slow being something she was glad for as she was still trying to figure it all out herself.
“Oh my…” What greeted her when she opened the door to their apartment was shocking to say the least. Standing on the threshold to the room she stared around the room at the tinsel, baubles and lights.
When Will heard Tessa he turned and grinned, Santa hat bobbing on his head as he practically bounced over to her. "Merry Christmas Tessa" he greeted before sliding an arm around her waist and using his other hand to tilt her chin up, "Looks like someone is standing under the mistletoe. I believe I have a duty to fulfil" he said before lowering his head to hers.
Will’s mouth descended on hers before Tessa had much time to think about it. His arm wrapped around her and touched her face and to start with, all she could do was stand there with her eyes wide as he kissed her. After a couple of seconds, she relaxed into his touch and laid her hands on his arms, fingers grasping lightly at his sleeves.
Luckily Will had anticipated that it might take Tessa a while to relax into it so he took his time until she did and then smiled into the kiss, deepening it a little before pulling back. “Hey” he smiled, “Like the mistletoe?” he asked her cheekily.
Still a little stunned, Tessa took a few moments to come back to herself once Will had pulled away from the kiss. She blinked up at him and licked her lips as she tried to think beyond ‘Will just kissed me!’
“Umm...yeah...mistletoe is...mistletoe’s good,” she replied a little dumbly as she gazed up into his eyes.
It was at that moment that Jem returned from work, walking into the condo to find Tessa in Will’s arms and Christmas decorations strewn about the living room, “Oh...hello.” He hadn’t expected to find a scene quite like this upon returning home and had the events of Halloween not transpired, he would have been jealous at that moment, but knowing that they both felt the same way about him as they did about each other made it a little better. The whole thing was still a little confusing and he was still getting used to it, but he supposed that if this thing that they had continued scenes like this one would become common.
Will smiled down at Tessa their gaze only broken as Jem arrived, pressing another kiss to Tessa’s forehead he released her before moving over to Jem. “Merry Christmas” he said before tugging Jem into his arms and pressing a kiss to his lips too. Will was very much into the Christmas spirit and couldn’t pass up an opportunity like this.
Tessa still felt very much in a daze as she watched Will pull Jem to him and kiss him. She touched her fingers to her lips and simply stared at them. Raising her eyebrows, she hadn’t realised how...tantalizing it could be to watch her two boys kissing each other.
If Jem hadn’t expected to walk in on Will and Tessa kissing, he certainly hadn’t expected Will to then move on to him. Of course, he should have expected it, considering it was Will, but somehow he hadn’t. Sure, they were all in some sort of a relationship and this sort of thing happened often in relationships, but for the last month, since their feelings about each other had been known, nothing like this had really happened.
Not only had Jem not expected this, but he’d never actually been kissed before with the exception of when he and Tessa had accidently kissed on their date a few months earlier, so he wasn’t entirely sure what to do now that Will’s lips were on his own so he stood there, silvery eyes wide and arms at his side, which he was sure looked ridiculous.
Will pulled back a little smiling, “Relax Jem” he told his friend stroking his back before pressing his lips to Jem’s once more, encouraging him to do the same. Will knew that he should have done this before, so it wasn’t such a surprise. They were all in a relationship, open affection should be normal not surprising. He’d simply have to kiss them both more often.
Tessa was feeling flushed, hot blood rushing up her neck as Will kissed Jem again. Reaching a hand out, she found the back of chair to lean on. A buzzer from the kitchen startled her from her daze and she looked towards the kitchen, unsure if she should leave Will and Jem to enjoy themselves and sort it out.
When Will kissed him the second time, Jem relaxed a little, his eyes closing, slowly as he focused on the feeling of Will's hand on his back and less on his lips, because his lack of experience would cause him to become nervous again. However, as he relaxed, he became less resistant. However, the buzzer from the kitchen caused him to pull back slightly, eyes wide, "What...what was that?"
Will pulled back too and looked confused for a moment before his face brightened, “Oh cookies!” he exclaimed, “I need to get them out of the oven” he smiled, before tugging Tessa closer. “Okay you two can now enjoy the mistletoe” he winked at them before heading into the kitchen humming.
Tessa felt Will pull her towards Jem and suddenly found herself face to face with him. She gave him a shy smile as Will hurried off to the kitchen behind them. She tentatively reached out and hooked the fingers of her right hand around Jem’s, dropping her gaze to their linked fingers. She quirked a smile as she curled her fingers around his, hoping he would get the hint.
Jem had expected this part, but being so close to Tessa once more made him nervous, because unlike the first time they’d kissed, which hadn’t been planned, this time she was expecting it. As their fingers linked together, he felt his heart speed up once again, but was surprised to find some of his nervousness melting away. Giving her a small smile, he leaned in and pressed his lips to her, softly. Somewhere in the back of his mind he was sure that Will was watching from the kitchen.
Of course Will was watching from the kitchen, the first thing he’d done after making sure nothing was on fire was stick his head around the corner to make sure they were doing what they should do. Smiling as he watched them for a moment he moved back to remove the cookies from the oven. Murmuring the words to the demon pox rhyme to the tune of the ‘Oh Christmas Tree’ song.
Tessa was very much enjoying kissing Jem. They were very different from each other. Will was passionate and impulsive whereas Jem was considered and gentle. Now, having kissed them both, she was all the more sure that she was in love with them both. They could be happy.
Something caught her attention after a minute, she could hear something familiar coming from the kitchen. Frowning, she pulled back from kissing Jem and looked at him quizzically. “Is he singing about…”
"Demon pox." Jem shook his head slightly, a small smirk upon his lips, "I suppose some things never change." Still holding Tessa's hand, Jem led her into the kitchen to see what else Will was up to, "I do hope you haven't been singing that in public, Will." He could only imagine what other people would think of it, if they heard it.
Will looked up with a grin, “Is my singing that bad? I thought I was quite good” he said, not realising what he’d been singing. There were cookies on the rack cooling and what smelt and looked like mulled wine on the cooker hob.
“My my, you have been industrious today,” Tessa grinned as she looked around at the delightful goodies. “Mulled wine? Oh, what a treat!” she stepped over to the hob and took a deep inhale of the wine. “What do you think Jem?”
“Not your singing in particular, but the subject matter in which you’re singing,” Jem said, taking in the various items that Will had put together in his absence. “I was unaware that you could bake. Although, whether or not it’s actually edible has yet to be seen,” He couldn’t help but tease Will a little bit. It was all in good fun and he was sure that Will knew it. “Mulled wine? You really have gone all out, haven’t you?” He glanced over at Will before coming to stand beside Tessa and take a sniff of the wine, “Smells good.”
“Oh?” Will said before thinking back, “Oh! Huh, I hadn’t even realised” he said with a grin and a shrug. “Be nice Jem or I won’t let you have any of my delicious goodies” he teased with a wink, “I love mulled wine at Christmas, it just smells perfect” It was Will’s favourite holiday after all.
“With singing like that, you should do a duet with Jem and his violin, and I am very much looking forward to enjoying your delicious goodies,” Tessa replied without thinking, still leaning over the mulled wine and trying to decide if it was ready to be drunk yet. Where are the glasses? she thought to herself.
Jem shook his head, a small smirk upon his lips in response to what Will had said, "I'm not so sure I could find a tune to go with demon pox." He moved to a nearby cabinet and got out three glasses for Tessa to fill with mulled wine despite the fact that she hadn't actually said it out loud, but it had seemed that that was what she had been looking around for.
“Oh I bet we could. Then we could serenade our Tessa with it” he grinned at them, moving to put some of the cooled cookies on a plate so they could take them into the living room with their mulled wine.
Tessa looked up as Jem moved to put the glasses out next to the hob. She smiled up at him and pressed a kiss to his cheek before reaching out for a ladle to serve the drinks up. “I have absolute confidence that the two of you could compose an original tune for it,” she told them confidently. “So, are going to curl up and watch Christmas movies or what?” she asked them, very much looking forward to their evening.
