Obi-Wan is aging surprisingly well (obi1) wrote in valarlogs,
The house was dim and gave every appearance of being empty when Obi-Wan returned that night. The jingle of his keys echoed off the walls. Leaning his back against the door, it clicked shut, and he called out for Loras, but there was no reply. That didn't necessarily mean no one was home, but Obi did not attempt another summons. He wasn't really seeking him out. Not immediately. In fact, he was sort of hoping to avoid him, at least for the next half-hour or so.
Obi took the steps quickly, two and three at a time, and his heart reacted with a familiar pounding. The kiss had been hours ago, but his lips were still buzzing. In his mind, he had been kissing Dani ever since, even if they had honestly spent the rest of the evening watching television and drifting in and out of sleep on the sofa. Even now, he was still exhausted, but there was too much adrenaline in his blood, and he'd gone without sleep for so long that his brain and body seemed to be arguing with each other about what time it was. Time to sleep, time to eat, time to make love...
Danielle...
He entered the bathroom and switched on the light, taking a good look at his flushed face in the mirror. It was the first color his cheeks had displayed in days. He grinned bashfully and lowered his chin, pressing his palms into the vanity and shaking his head. Every inch of him felt warm, almost to the point of fever. He moved away from the sink and released a low groan, a growl, perhaps. His jeans, they were tight. Uncomfortable, really. He began to undress.
Another man, probably most other men, might have sought their release in another activity, but Obi didn't even consider it. And he really didn't give a damn if anyone judged him. He had always been a cold shower kind of man, although, in this case, he knew that wouldn't be enough, which was why the tub itself was now filling with tepid water. He needed a long soak, an ice bath.
After folding his clothing neatly across the towel rack, he lowered his body into the water. Carefully. But not without little cries of pain and sharp pulls of air through his clenched teeth. His heart gave some indication that it might stop from the shock, and a few other bodily activities resolved themselves immediately. After a few minutes, the only sound from the bathroom was a sigh of profound relief, and Obi-Wan dipped his head beneath the water to soak his hair.
