This just won’t do at all.
Who: Malora What: Christmas! When: Last Week and also Christmas Eve Where: Maleficent's place mostly Status: complete Rating: PG-13
Christmas was something that Maleficent had never bothered with. She was almost a scrooge to the idea, though she always gave her people generous vacation time - well, generous compared to most places, anyway. But Aurora kept humming annoying songs, and she’d even put up decorations in the office. If this was how she was going to act, Maleficent was certain they could never live together.
Currently, she was staring at a picture of a sexy santa costume her secretary had sent her with the caption “imagine your intern in this, eh?” on it and had forgotten how to brain.
Maybe Christmas wouldn’t be so bad. Nah. It was still terrible.
Aurora liked Christmas. Admittedly, she’d mostly had to make her own Christmas cheer over the years, though her nannies and housekeepers had certainly done their best to make the season bright as well. Her father had rarely made it home, but that was just as well.
Now she had an office, and she’d taken full advantage of decorating. Tastefully, of course, but it was most definitely and undeniable decorated. And that had her in a very good mood.
There was so much red. And so much green. Aurora may think it tasteful but Maleficent found the whole thing glaringly bright. As if she was able to even celebrate the holiday, being not only Fae but evil Fae. A thing, she was certain, would cause her to burst into flame should she get the mad notion to attend Christmas Mass. Or even just enter a church.
She saved the picture, then closed it and pinched her nose. "If you insist on playing that music could you at least choose a station that plays more than the same eight songs?"
Aurora grinned brightly, and laughed. “I think I can manage that, yes.” Admittedly, variety in Christmas music was very good. Aurora herself had generally held a more secular view of Christmas, though she didn’t mind most of the more original holy day themed carols.
“What do you want for Christmas, Maleficent?”
"For it to be over with," she muttered. Letting out a sigh, she lifted her head and gave Aurora a light smile. "Peace and quiet, mostly. I confess I haven't done this holiday since I was very young. I want for little, save you."
Which was a gamble to admit and she regretted it almost immediately.
The admission got Maleficent a quick kiss on the lips. “Can I at least hang mistletoe somewhere at your place?” she asked. “I’ve never really had...a family to have Christmas with. So I’ll probably get you something anyway.”
"Mm." Maleficent made a brief disgruntled face, but it was impossible to keep it up with Aurora being affectionate. And her words struck a cord in the Fairy that was hard to ignore. "Well. I'll have to get you something."
She wondered if Aurora had a tree. Hopefully not a real tree, Mal couldn't bear the idea of cutting one down just to decorate and then discard it. But maybe a super expensive and pretty artificial tree.
Aurora did have a very nice, very expensive artificial tree that looked very like a real one. She smiled at Maleficent. “And we could have dinner together? For Christmas. Or Christmas Eve.”
“Why not both?” Maleficent rubbed her thumb over her lip in thought. “Perhaps something...romantic for Christmas Eve, and something a little more relaxed the next day? I can have something prepared ahead of time for the 25h, but I can cook the day before. Unless you wish to go out.…”
Aurora beamed. “I like the sound of having both! And I’d rather stay in and have it be just us, really.”
“Luckily for you I’ve developed an affinity for cooking.” She crooked her finger to bid Aurora come closer. “But only for someone with fine taste.” Sitting back, half an invitation for Aurora to sit in her lap and half getting comfortable, she changed the subject. “Have you dreamt more?”
Aurora took her up on that invitation and settled onto her lap, slipping her arms around her shoulders. “Nothing as drastic as before,” she said. “I ran away to the castle and discovered that King Stefan had much less interest in having a daughter than I’d expected. I am not surprised, though the dream version of me was. And someone else had to tell me my mother was dead.”
She sighed and leaned her head against Maleficent’s. “Then there was a strange pain in my finger...and a voice that seemed to be leading me somewhere…”
Mal threaded her fingers into Aurora's hair, not caring that she was messing it up and then people might talk. She'd reached a point where she just gave no fucks. Even if she had only said it once, she loved her. The thought of seeing Aurora made her feel like a human being who could actually feel things again.
Mal's lips thinned out. "That would be the curse. I got there too late to try to stop it. I am sorry.”
“I sort of thought it must be,” Aurora replied. “The dreams are easier to deal with, knowing that my father is just as horrible there as he is here. Even if the dream me didn’t know that at first. Which was entirely King Stefan’s fault, all in all.”
She sighed. “At least he’s had the good sense to leave us alone, now.”
"He knows I have people watching." Maleficent nuzzled her nose against Aurora's ear, her words ominous. "I am sorry. For all that you've gone through. Perhaps an absent father is better than the one you had."
Aurora shivered at the nuzzling and smiled slightly. “Perhaps. But I’ve got you, and that counts for a lot.”
She pulled her head back, lifting one well manicured finger to Aurora’s nose. “This Christmas thing… It is really important to you, isn’t it?”
Aurora wrinkled her nose and smiled. “It is, yes.”
“Then...I suppose..” She tapped Aurora’s nose with each word. “We should do something else special. Besides dinner. I’ve never had a lover over for the holidays. This will be a first.” Assuming Aurora would stay the night Christmas Eve, which she was assuming.
“I’d like that,” Aurora said, blushing slightly. “And I haven’t been over to a lover’s during the holidays before, either. So...yes, I’d like to stay over for something special.”
You could stay and never leave, Maleficent almost said. But she caught herself before she did. There was a vast chasm between inviting her to live in the Moors and actually moving her into her condo. At least that’s what she told herself.
Aurora smiled and leaned down to brush her lips against Maleficent’s. “It will be nice.”
She didn’t let go of Aurora for a long time after that, though she said little. And even over the next few weeks she didn’t say much more either that wasn’t directly related to work, or light teasing because Aurora’s blush made her day. And soon enough it was the day before Christmas and her kitchen was a mess and Aurora was going to be here in just a few hours and why won’t you cook faster damn it.
It was then that Maleficent resorted to magic to clean the kitchen and give the roast a little bit of a boost so she could find something to wear that would make Aurora fall in love with her all over again.
It left her with some time, still, and she stared at the bare apartment with not a trace of decoration and frowned. “This just won’t do at all.”
But there was a tree, and with a little coaxing, she could make it larger, and bushier, with fruit that glittered like christmas ornaments and buds that glowed with an exhuberant light. She topped it off with a star made of brambles. From the tree she grew garland of vines that stretched around the walls and hung from the doorways and arches, with mistletoe in strategic places.
She decided she quite liked the look. “This won’t be so bad at all.”
Aurora was excited, and a little nervous. She’d done something a little...extra special for the evening, and was mainly nervous about that. The rest of it--dinner and Christmas with Maleficent--she was very much looking forward to.
She wrapped her coat tightly around herself as she rang the bell.
Maleficent opened the door, her expression brightening when she saw Aurora's face. She knew very well that tabloids might be watching, but she didn't care. Let them see. She pulled Aurora in close and kissed her. "You're just in time. Come in."
Aurora beamed at Maleficent. The kiss made it even better. She gave Maleficent a tight hug and stepped inside. “It smells amazing,” she said, taking a deep breath.
"I made it for you," Maleficent said. She closed the door behind Aurora and studied her carefully, curious, and a little worried about what she'd think of her version of holiday decor. Was the tree too much with it's natural ornamentation? The 'garland' vines? She felt....antsy. She didn't like that feeling.
Aurora looked around in wonder at the decorations. It was different, yes, but it was also very Maleficent. And it was beautiful. “It makes me think of the Moors,” she said. “The decorating you’ve done.” And that made it feel like home.
"That is what I was going for, my dear. May I take your coat?" She reached for Aurora's coat, her magic causing hooks to form out of the vines on the walls. Her other hand stroked lightly along the woman's cheek.
Nodding, Aurora let Maleficent take her coat, revealing a shimmery, long-sleeved red dress that hit just at the knee and hugged her body. It was festive. And a little sexy. Or at least she hoped it was. She was pretty sure the new things she had on under it would count for sexy, but that would come later.
"Oh my." Maleficent found herself grinning not unlike a giddy schoolgirl. And she felt giddy. "I'm afraid I've been so naughty that I don't think I deserve such a beautiful girlfriend."
Aurora blushed and grinned back at Maleficent. “You’ve done enough nice things to get something from the the ‘nice’ list, I think.”
"I hardly believe that, but I'm too selfish to complain." Maleficent guided Aurora into the dining room. "It should be just about finished. I have indeed slaved away all day to give you the most personal christmas eve dinner you've ever had."
“I really appreciate the effort you’ve put into all of this,” Aurora said as she followed Maleficent. “It’s lovely.”
“I did it all for you.” She gestured to the table, then pulled a chair out for her lover. She felt younger than she had in years. Sometimes, she felt the insane urge to do bad things just to make up for it. Maybe sabotage things, because she didn’t deserve it. Right now she felt so light, she didn’t care to do that.
Aurora smiled and took her seat. She took one of Maleficent’s hands and brought it to her lips for a gentle kiss.
Mal's cheeks flamed red, then she got out the roast and set it on top of the oven. She sliced it open with a magic spell, and then brought a plate over to Aurora. "My dream self would be appalled at my eating meat. But I don't really care."
“Mmm. It looks amazing, even if she wouldn’t appreciate it.” Aurora really felt like she was being spoiled, and it was definitely a pleasant feeling.
It was sickeningly domestic. Roast and potatoes and some cranberry sauce, and Maleficent dug in. She felt a little awkward, then sighed dramatically. "What do people talk about at a holiday dinner? I'm a little out of my element."
Aurora chuckled. “I’m not exactly the best person to ask, either. Mostly I had them with nannies and housekeepers. They weren’t sure what to talk about to a child whose father wouldn’t bother to visit for Christmas.” Aurora shrugged. “But let’s not talk about him, whatever we do. You look lovely. I meant to say it earlier.”
Maleficent narrowed her eyes. But of course Stefan would have ignored her. The thought made her blood boil. But she had another thought and it was a mad thought and she hated it, yet at the same time... She thought it important to at least give Aurora the chance.
"If you...want a chance to reconnect with him. For the holidays. You only need ask. And that is all I will say on the subject." Because she hated him.
"And thank you. You look beautiful. I could just eat you up."
Aurora shook her head. “He burned that bridge.” Thoroughly burned it.
The last comment made Aurora bite her lip. “I might have to hold you to that, later,” she said, blushing at her own boldness.
Maleficent nodded. She was glad. She hadn’t wanted to spend Christmas Day staring at his ugly face. But she’d wanted to put that out there for the blonde’s sake. “Then I should skip dessert.” Even if dessert smelled delicious. Her phone beeped, and she reached for it, then hesitated. It probably wasn’t important. Work could wait.
Aurora blushed more deeply. She was also glad when Maleficent opted not to check her phone. She began eating and was pleased to find that everything tasted as good as it looked. “We could always have dessert for breakfast,” she said.
She waved her fork at Aurora, quirking her brow. "Do you mean dessert or dessert? Perhaps you can elaborate."
Aurora’s mouth dropped open slightly as she realised the innuendo she’d walked right into. “I meant...the food meaning. Instead of...what we’ll be doing instead of having that tonight.”
"Isn't it a bit much to assume anything?" She had a teasing smile on her lips as she set her fork down. "What if all I want is to watch that reindeer cartoon." While holding Aurora and slowly driving her mad with caresses and touches.
“Then you’d be missing out. And I’d be trying to distract you.” Aurora was feeling a little bolder now.
"Would you, now?" She tried to keep her expression even. Eagerness never suited her but Aurora just did that to her. It drove her to distraction on the best days, and today she was already thoroughly distracted. "Pray tell, my dear, how would you do that?"
“Sit in you lap. Play with your hair. Caress the shell of you ears, stroke your cheekbones, your jaw. Plant little feather soft kisses anywhere I could find skin...perhaps nibbling a little…” Aurora was still blushing, but she kept her eyes on Maleficent’s.
Maleficent was rendered speechless, her pouty mouth hanging open and her eyes dark with sudden desire. She tried to compose herself, rubbing a hand into her hair and then along one horn. "That sounds just like torture, you naughty girl."
Aurora grinned and bit her only lower lip. “Only torture until you’d give in and move us to the bedroom,” she pointed out.
“Well then I shall had to resist as long as possible, as I don’t want to be that easy.” Of course, she hadn’t seen what Aurora had planned for her, and so assumed she was able to resist. “So why don’t we retire to the couch while I let my magic clean up.”
“We’ll have to see,” Aurora said. “But yes, let’s move.”
Getting up, Maleficent waved her finger to start the clean up process, then reached for Aurora’s hand to take it. “I’ve...really enjoyed this. I hope you like your present tomorrow morning. I’m not Santa, but I tried to wrap it.”
Aurora gave Maleficent’s hand a squeeze and smiled. “I’m sure you did fine.”
"You shall have to wait until the morning," she assured her, then sat down on the couch and patted the cushion next to her.
Aurora took the offered seat, wedging herself flush against Maleficent’s side before leaning in to nuzzle her neck.
“This is really nice.” Maleficent put her arm around Aurora. With a whispered word, the luminescent fruit on the tree began to glimmer and flicker, as though moving to an unheard music. She thought it would be nice if Aurora was always around.
It really was like having a little bit of the Moors here with them, and Aurora smiled. She wrapped an arm around Maleficent’s waist and leaned in to nip at her earlobe before kissing slowly down her neck.
"Mmm..." The older woman grinned, then let out a laugh that was much too girlish. She covered her mouth with her hand even as she tilted her head. Sighing softly, she murmured, "I don't deserve you."
Aurora nipped slightly at Maleficent’s neck. “I want you,” she murmured. “‘Deserve’ doesn’t matter. I love you…” Another kiss. “...and I want you” and another. “...and I need you.”
If Aurora was trying to kill her, she was certainly succeeding. Maleficent's pulse spiked, and her hand started to rub at Aurora's leg and thigh, squeezing a little. "Aurora I...." Love you. She still couldn't say it.
Aurora felt Maleficent’s pulse race beneath her lips, and she smiled. She kissed down between the faery’s neck and shoulder before growing bold enough to leave a mark.
It was even in a place that would be hard to explain at work. She'd get looks, she knew it, but she didn't care. She'd just wear a turtleneck if it was still there.
The fairy tangled her fingers in Aurora's golden hair and she couldn't find a way to hold any conversation. She just groaned, breathy and low.
Aurora shifted, then edged her dress up her thighs enough to straddle Maleficent’s lap. She tangled one hand in the faery’s hair and continued kissing up and down her neck and throat.
"I could get used to Christmas if it's like this," Maleficent managed to quip. Sharing this side of herself with Aurora. It made her almost want to give up her darker side. Almost. That was an aspect of her she needed to deal with - if only to prevent it from casting a shadow on her lover.
“So could I,” Aurora murmured. She trailed her kisses along Maleficent’s jaw before kissing her lips.
"Maybe you should..." But whatever Maleficent was going to say was lost in the kiss. She tangled her fingers in Aurora's hair, kissing her with abandon. The fairy had a switch and Aurora had stuck it on on.
Aurora moaned into the kiss, shifting a hand to grip one of Maleficent’s horns.
She yanked Aurora’s head back (gently), and pressed her lips against the woman’s throat and neck. Nipping and biting with a soft growl, she started to push at Aurora’s dress, revealing...something that stole away her breath. “Oh my…”
Aurora had made a lingerie purchase especially for this night. Lacy red bra and panties, both of which were clearly more about being sexy than functional. “Like what you see?” Aurora asked, slightly breathless.
"You are far from the innocent waif in the moores..." Something that Maleficent didn't mind at all. She was incredibly grateful that Aurora had walked into her life at this point, and not when she was younger. She levitated Aurora off of her lap, spinning her around in the air while invisible hands removed the rest of the woman's dress. It was quite the show, and she stood, pulling Aurora close again. In a throaty voice, she whispered, "You are stunning, my princess."
Magic certainly made an efficient undressing method. It was also rather exciting. Aurora wrapped her arms around Maleficent’s neck. “I’m glad you like. I was a little nervous about these...I don’t have anything else this...risque…but I wanted something special for tonight.”
"I love you." She'd meant to say 'I love it' and the shock registers on her face. Maleficent didn't Blush but her face was turning red. Despite that, she didn't move her eyes from Aurora's.
Aurora beamed and kissed Maleficent before pulling back to look at her again. “I love you, too.”
“That gets easier to say,” Maleficent whispered. She pressed her forehead against Aurora’s. “But clearly I need to keep my lips busy.”
Aurora smiled. “I’m glad it’s getting easier,” she whispered back. “But yes, your lips need to be busy.” With that, she kissed the faery again, passionately.
