Figuring out the best time to do laundry was always a trick. There were many factors to take into account. One's personal schedule (and Annie's did tend to change depending on the week), and then the fight for the machines, which could either be dealt with begrudgingly, or in Annie's case, figuring out when people wouldn't be in the laundry room so that she could do her laundry in peace. Insomnia meant that she was awake late into the night so it wasn't such a problem if she did it later in the night when others would be settling down for the night. In fact, that was when Annie preferred to do so as it was.
Eleven days of snow. That had to be some sort of record. It had been strange enough when she had woken up on to snow in Southern California, but she had pushed it aside and gone about her day. A very interesting day, but nothing terrible. She went to the harbor fairly often to read near the water as she couldn't exactly go into it in this weather, which had the same calming effect she was usually after. And if she happened to run into Ezra and his father, that was always nice as well.
Like she usually did, Annie had brought down her jewelry making supplies with her to the laundry room. It wasn't that she couldn't just return to her apartment while her clothes were in the machine, most people did that. But it was easier to check things if she was already there. Which admittedly was another reason why she preferred to do her laundry later inso that there was less chance of being in someone's way, or having a panic attack with someone nearby. True, the laundry room tended to then get hot but she could also handle that. The joys of growing up on the East Coast. Weather and extreme temperatures were not foreign to her.
Having set up her perch on the main table in the middle for folding purposes, Annie was focused on the necklace set she was currently working on. True, the cold made it so that her normal street fair and farmer market venues were out, but she could at least build up her inventory in the meantime.
