Who: Teddy Altman and Anna of Arendelle When: Wednesday, 10/29, afternoon. Where: Street outside Starbucks What: Anna meets her TV Crush Rating/Warnings: Low/None Status: Complete
Anna was headed out of the Starbucks. It was between class and work, and she’d had a really long couple of weeks. Really long. She was looking forward to drinking the huge frappuccino that she’d just purchased. It looked absolutely delicious. In fact, she was staring so intently at the frappuccino (thinking about the caramel and chocolate drizzle that she had on top of the whipped cream) that she didn’t notice someone was coming straight for her. Well, probably straight for the doorway she’d just come through. Her eyes lifted at the last second and she stopped suddenly in her step, hopefully stopping a collision.
Theodore nearly tripped as the person in front of him stopped right in the doorway. He grimaced and tried to sidestep the girl, carrying one of those sugary carb-laden frozen drinks that he could no longer indulge in with his diet. Nope. Green fat-burning tea for him now.
“Sorry,” he muttered, reflexively, even though it wasn’t his fault in the slightest.
"Sorry!" Anna cried out, stepping to the side, though that just made her bang into the open Starbucks front door. Ow. She winced, grabbing onto her knee after it clunked heavily into the door and smarted for it.
"No no, I'm sorry, I--" but her words cut off when she looked up and saw... "OhmyGod." She said, though her brain had stopped working. "You're... You're..."
Oh, he knew that expression. He winced, even though he hadn’t been the one banging into things.
“...just fine,” Theodore assured her quickly, glancing around them. “I’m fine. No harm done, honest,” he added, hastily.
“No,” Anna began to shake her head almost violently from side to side. Her eyes were still wide, her lip quivering. “No no, I mean, you’re… you’re… OhmyGodImyourbiggestfan.” It came out in a whisper, her hand lifting to cover her mouth so she wouldn’t start screaming or whimpering or something even more embarrassing.
Theodore couldn’t help but smile. He was caught, but at least she seemed semi-sane. She hadn’t started screaming yet, anyway. He ducked his head, cheeks flushing slightly, and glanced around them again before taking a step closer to the patio. Luckily, they seemed to be between rushes. “Yeah,” he agreed quietly. “I’m Ted. It’s nice to meet you….?” He trailed off, expecting her to supply her name.
She may have whimpered. Softly. Behind her hand. “Anna.” She supplied then, her voice cracking. Her hand lowered from her face to hold out to his. “I’m Anna Arendelle, and ohmygod you’re even more handsome in person.” ...this was gushing, ladies and gentlemen.
“Sorry, I just…” She was bright pink. “I’m such a big fan!”
Dealing with fans was something that Theodore hadn’t really anticipated when he’d gone into acting, but when the were like Anna, it wasn’t necessarily a hardship. He laughed and shook her hand. “Anna. It’s nice to meet you, Anna. I wasn’t sure if any fans still existed, since I haven’t really done anything in awhile.”
“Oh, I’ve got all your dvds. I still watch frequently.” She released his hand and drew out her phone. Then her cheeks went very, very pink and she held it up sheepishly. “....would you mind… terribly… could I have a picture? W-With you?”
“Of course,” he assured her. People were starting to pay attention, but he smiled. It wasn’t that he enjoyed the attention--he really didn’t, but he understood that for her, this was a big moment. He never wanted to be that guy who couldn’t stop to take selfies. “Do you need someone to take it of us?” He hoped she had one of those phones that had the camera that could reverse angle.
“No no, I can take it.” Anna said, unlocking her phone. She clicked on the screen a couple of times, and the camera pointed toward them. She stepped over closer to him, went up on her toes, and held her arm out to take the selfie. Of both of them. Her hand was shaking a little bit in her excitement.
Theodore draped his arm around her shoulder, naturally, and smiled at their reflected image. It was sweet, the way she was so nervous. When the shutter sound went off, he pulled back, to let her look at it, doing his best to ignore the people around them. “Did it turn out okay?”
Anna turned to look at the picture. God he was so handsome! She flushed deeply. “...it’s okay. See?” She said, and turned the phone to face him. She looked pretty cute herself, actually. “...thank you so so much.”
“No, thank you...for being a fan,” Theodore replied, quickly, awkwardly. At least he wasn’t blinking or cross-eyed in the photo, if it was going to be all over social media. (He suspected it was.) “It was a pleasure to meet you,” he added. “But I should get going.”
“Oh! Of course! Right, yes, sorry, don’t let me keep you.” Anna stuttered a bit, saving the picture and pocketing her phone. Yes, it would be all over social media. Starting with Valarnet. “Thank you so much,” she added, then grabbed her drink (stowed carefully on a side table before the whole selfie thing) and turned to head back to the parking lot. There was a squee in her voice and a bounce in her step.
Theodore nodded and watched her go. And if he was lucky, he could slip out without anyone else realizing they’d seen him before.
