Who: Finn Mikaelson and Astrid Hofferson When: Backdated: Thursday, Octorber 2nd. Morning Where: Astrid's Apartment What: Waking up to more OC weirdness RatingWarning:</b> Family Friendly Status: Complete
Today, ideally, was supposed to start like a normal day. Her alarm was set for 7am; she’d wake up, brush her teeth, shower, dress and grab some toast. Then she’d drive off for class, see Hiccup, and it’d be a regular day.
Instead when her alarm sounded off, she rolled over to turn it off - and rolled over to a body that was not there before.
It was surprising that the windows never shattered when she screamed.
Finn had been handling the whole vampire thing a little better than when he’d first turned, but he still wasn’t sleeping well, so the fact that he was woken up by a scream meant that he had been in a deep enough sleep to not realize that anyone else had been in the room. As his eyes snapped open, the girl who was screaming came into focus and he suddenly became very aware of the sound of her heart and the blood that rushed through her body as a result and that caused Finn to realize that he was hungry. Moving faster than the human eye could track, Finn was out of the bed and across the room.
That sure as hell wasn’t normal, and Astrid had hopped off the bed and went straight to the corner of the room - right where her battle axe rested - and wrapped both hands around the wood. She held it up before her, tip pointed right at him. “Who--WHO THE HELL ARE YOU?! How did you get in here?! What did you do to me?!”
Was she drugged? Roofied? WHAT?
In hindsight, that probably hadn’t been the best thing for Finn to do. Now the girl was not only freaked out, but she was terrified. When she produced the ax, Finn raised both hands in a defensive manner, but stayed across the room. After all, one way to kill a vampire was decapitation and Finn had no desire to lose his head today, “Why don’t you put down the ax and we can figure this out.” He was already figuring that this was some type of OC weirdness, but he still didn’t know exactly what was going on.
“How about I hold the axe while we figure this out?” Astrid snapped, holding it more like a shield in front of it. She gave Finn a quick lookover and took a deep breath, a little more calm but she was still ready to swing if he even so twitched the wrong way. “So start talking. Who are you and why the hell were you in my bed?”
Finn didn’t fault her for being cautious, but he kept his distance from her despite the fact that he was faster than her, which meant it was unlikely that she would actually get him with the ax, “Alright. If it makes you feel better.” As he stood there across the room, Finn was glad that he had worn pajama pants and a t-shirt to bed the night before. “As for how I got here, I don’t know. I distinctly remember going to sleep in my own bed at my own apartment.” He watched the blond carefully as he spoke, “And my name is Finn. Finn Mikaelson.”
And Astrid distinctly remembered going to sleep alone, so something wasn’t right here. He looked as wary as she was and maybe, just maybe, he was telling the truth. But the way he got off the bed in some flash-like speed told her something wasn’t normal about the guy, and until she found out what and why, she wasn’t putting her guard down.
“Astrid,” she then answered, inching away from the corner but with the axe still held before her. “How about we just minimize the awkward and you just go? The exit’s that way.”
“Right. Of course.” Finn nodded and turned towards the door, “I apologize for this awkward situation,” He knew this wasn’t his fault, but he felt like he still needed to apologize anyway. Reaching the door, he moved through it, but didn’t get very far before he stopped dead in his tracks, seemingly unable to go any further. Brows furrowing, he glanced around, trying to figure out what was happening. After a moment he turned and headed back towards the bedroom, “I think we may have a problem.”
Right when she thought the awkwardness was over, he comes marching right back in. This time the axe was lowered, but at any little provocation she’d lift it again and do… something.
“What?” Astrid asked, already not liking the tone of his voice. “Did the sidewalk turn to lava? The apocalypse going on outside?”
“I didn’t get far enough to find out.” Finn’s gaze shifted to the axe for a moment. Knowing that he could only go so far suddenly made the fact that he had superhuman speed a moot point, “I only got halfway down the hall before I couldn’t go any further. Did you feel anything when I left the room?”
“Relief, maybe?” With a roll of her eyes, she lowered her arms and walked passed him - and suddenly stopped just a few feet ahead of him.
And she raised her foot, wanting to take a step forward, but…
