Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Entry tags:bella cullen, glinda upland

Who: Glinda and Bella
When: Mid October
Where: Baxter's
What: Catching up
Rating/Warnings: Low/None
Status: Complete

It had been over a week since Glinda had been 'stuck' with Bella and vice versa but Glinda had actually found she'd missed the younger girl and her family. Glinda had adored Nessie, she was such a sweet bright little girl and spending time with her had made Glinda consider using her teacher training to move into daycare instead.

She'd had a large delivery of toys and baby things taken to the Cullen house once they were no longer connected with a note to say if they ever needed anything to give Glinda a call. She wanted to help as much as possible, as she felt a connection to the family now.

Which was why when Bella had contacted her to suggest coffee Glinda immediately accepted, she'd arrived at Baxter's early and was waiting for her new friend to arrive. She wasn't sure if Bella had ever tried a sparkling drink before. But she thought the girl might like it. After all who didn't like sparkly things.

Bella hadn't exactly met Glinda in the most conventional way. It just had to be said. It was this... place or something around this place that had caused them to meet.

It was a shock to the entire Cullen family but eventually she became welcome. So much that Bella would even call her friend. She couldn't think of just disappearing from Glinda after that. She wanted the happy person to be in her life. She could always use another friend.

She walked into Baxter's with the stroller. "I'm sorry I couldn't find a babysitter," she said as she approached her friend.

It was definitely an unusual situation to say the least but then living in this county meant you kind of got used to that kind of thing. Or at least learnt to adapt really quickly.

Glinda was happy Bella considered her a friend, she loved making friends and Bella was such a sweet woman with a lovely family.

"Never apologise for bringing this little sweetheart along" Glinda told her, moving a chair out of the way for the buggy.

That was a bit of a relief. She was always worried about bring Nessie to meeting her friends. Although she already knew that Glinda was in love with the girl that was cute as a button.

"Oh good," she said as she sat down.

She was't feeling coffee, since she couldn't drink it while she was pregnant but there was plenty more here. She knew that from experience. "How have you been?"

Glinda would never mind Bella bringing the little girl along, she was a very sweet child after all.

"I've been great" Glinda said, "Pretty busy. How about you? Not been over doing it I hope?"

It was one thing to have whatever was around there in Orange County mess with them. It was another when being messed with brought people together. Although that didn't mean that she still wasn't worried about the next thing it through her way.

"That's fantastic," she said with a smile.

Oh, and was that the subject. She wanted to say that she was doing great too but... "I'm okay. I decided not to go back to work," her tone was neutral.

Glinda was fairly good at rolling with whatever came her way but sometimes it was a nuisance. More so for people like Bella who had her family to consider. She was glad the young woman hadn't been stuck with somebody awful.

"Oh, and are you alright with that?" Glinda asked, picking some kind of vibe up but she wasn't entirely sure what.

That was part of the problem.

Not going back to work was what seemed best for what was going on in her life at the moment. It didn’t mean that she was entirely okay with not bringing in any money. Even if she didn’t bring in that much in the first place.

“I don’t know,” she said with a sigh. “I think I am.”

"But?" Glinda prompted, "What's got you worried? You can talk to me, I promise I'll say nothing to anybody" she added in reassurance. She didn't like to see Bella worrying over things, especially not in her condition. She needed a stress free environment.

That was it. It wasn’t that she was worried about it exactly. It was that she didn’t know about putting her life on hold just because she was pregnant. The thoughts about how she would adjust when she decided to go back to working, that was if she went back to work at all.

“It’s more about after the baby,” she said touching her stomach.

"Well," Glinda said softly and thoughtfully, "I'm sure Edward would support whatever you decide to do. What happened after Nessie?" she asked curiously.

That was something that Bella didn’t have to worry about it. She didn’t worry at all about Edward supporting her with anything that she decided. He was good like that.

“Well I had Nessie when I was younger, as you probably could tell. I thought that I could take on the world but two is very different,” she said smiling at her little princess. “I’m not sure about balancing work, being a mom, and working too.”

She wanted to do what was best for her two babies.

"Then I'd suggest you don't worry about it until the little one comes along" Glinda told her, "See how you feel then, if you think it will be too much then you have your answer" Glinda was all about doing the best for the family, her own hadn't been very encouraging so she knew the importance of making sure children felt supported.

Bella didn't even think about doing that. She was so focused on having a set plan for when the baby was born. A plan for what she was going to do, how her and Edward were going to handle it. "You make it sound easy."

“Is it not?” Glinda asked her, she had general plans but for Glinda she preferred to see where life was going to take her. After all if she was so busy planning she may miss an incredible opportunity.

Yes, it was definitely harder to put into action. Especially when she wanted to make sure that everything was handled right. That everything was good. She didn’t want her children to want for anything. She couldn’t do that without making sure that she was there to make sure it went right and that she did the right thing.

“Not in my experience,” she said with a shrug.

Although it was enough of her problems. “How about you?” What are you up to?” she said changing the conversation.

"Well if you need any help please do come to me. I'll do whatever I can" Glinda offered, it was a simple truth that once you were Glindas friend there was very little she wouldn't do for you.

"Oh I'm okay. Passed my latest round of essay writing. I've been considering looking into opening a daycare instead of teaching, I so much enjoyed spending time with Nessie and my best friends son Dior is a dream too. Maybe the younger ones would be better for me"

It didn't need to be said. It might be true that they hadn't known each other long but Bella knew that. She knew that Glinda was that type of person. It was nice that she said it though.

"A daycare? Really?" of course Bella wouldn't think of being surrounded by children all the time.

She took a look at Glinda. "That might suit you," she said with a smile.

Glinda was glad Bella knew she could come to her, it was reassuring to know that the other woman knew she was there for her.

Glinda nodded, "The more I think about it the more I like the idea" she revealed before smiling, "Thank you, that's very sweet of you"
