"Oh, no trouble," Fraser replied, quickly, and turned his attention back to plating their meal. "I enjoy cooking, when I have time for it, and with the easy access to fresh meats and produce, it seems a shame not to enjoy them--although, I will admit, when cooking for myself I tend to forgo some of the effort. I might have used your visit as an excuse to indulge myself."
His cheeks were slightly pink, but he hoped it could be written off as a result of the cooking itself, and not his embarrassment. He may have wanted to impress John, as well, though he wouldn't admit to that unless pressed.
He cleared his throat and gestured towards the kitchen table, already set with plates. "Please--have a seat?"
