Billy had expected today to be just a normal boring day, the young actress he was currently looking after was a pain in the ass on set but hardly required anything of Billy. She had her boyfriend running around for her instead, which was fine but felt like a bit of a waste of Billy’s time. So when the threat had been called in and some some people sent Billy had suddenly ended up with a free afternoon. Heading out of the lot he passed a cute guy who he realised he’d spoken to before. Albeit not in person, “Uh” he stopped and turned, “I know this is going to sound off but you’re D’Artagnan right? You got addicted to candy crush while having sleeping problems?” he smiled in a friendly manner.

And D'Artagnan had expected another day of very little to do as well realy. He was very nearly right. The day had passed by with not so much as a kitten stuck in a tree, or a dog setting of a security alarm. Nothing. So when the bomb threat passed through the Agency’s office, he was one of the first to respond. Of course it had only ended up being just that, a threat and nothing more. Not that he wanted a real bomb, but he craved action. Any kind of movement on the grid to keep his attention span from waning again He looked up from the last of his paperwork he was filling out thanks to the non threat at the sound of his name and raised an eyebrow. “Yeah..That’s me? Uh?” He tried to remember the other guys name but drew a blank.

“Sorry, I must sound a bit crazy. I’m Billy, we’ve only spoken on the net a few times” he explained holding out his hand, “I didn’t mean to interrupt you” he gestured to the paperwork. “I just thought I couldn’t pass up the chance to say hi”

“It’s Orange County..crazy is kind of it’s theme anyway..” He shrugged as he put down the paperwork in his car, tossing the clipboard through the half open window. He then returned the handshake with a small smile. “I remember now. Sorry, lots been happening since then. So this is where you work then, I think I remember something about movies?” D’Artagnan remembered everyone’s reactions when he hadn’t seen that popular new thing, but they all sort of blended to one. He really wasn’t up on popular culture. He had no idea if this place was popular or not.

“Well that’s true” he smiled, “Oh don’t worry about it. I tend to remember all kinds of stuff like that. Yeah I’m working for an actress on the film” Billy explained, “But after the threat and everything she’s finished for the day. Too much for her nerves” Billy was a huge pop culture geek, mostly film and tv stuff. But he knew it wasn’t everyone’s thing.

“I’m bad with remembering things I saw online.” He admitted with a bit of a shrug and leaned against the car. “But I did get the point across that it was nothing right?” He frowned as looked the kid over. Not that he wanted a bomb, but still any action would have been better than none..”Seems like too delicate.” He rolled his eyes some at the idea that just because of a bomb threat the starlet was done.

“Oh you absolutely did” Billy nodded, “She was just too traumatised by the series of events” his tone may have carried more sarcasm than it should have done when talking about the person he was working for but it was the studio which employed him so he wasn’t too worried.

He rolled his eyes then. He tried to be professional, but really. Bomb threats were exactly that. Only a threat. The entire set had been sweeped and nothing located. “How terrible it must have been. “ He really couldn’t relate to movie stars, maybe that was why he never got too into things like this. “At least she can’t blame me for it. Suppose I should just be happy for that.” He shrugged.

Billy laughed at that, “Oh yeah, the rest of us feel very traumatised too” he snorted. Billy liked the work and the atmosphere but not so much the diva style actresses. “Blame you? We should all be thanking you for coming out and checking everything over for us”

It seemed he’d picked up a bit of Athos’ dry sarcasm. He couldn’t even fake a bit of sympathy for the movie set. “It’s just my job, but often blame does fall for not being psychic and catching it sooner or something ridiculous like that.” He offered a shrug, unphased by the idea that it might happen. It was something law enforcement dealt with often, so he wasn’t even somewhat worried should the starlet decide he was the one she wanted to bitch at. “So, now that you’ve got your afternoon free what are you going to do with it?”

Athos would be proud if he could hear D’Artagnan now. “Well I, for one, am just grateful that you were around whether it was just a threat or not I’d want you around” Billy said honestly. “Me? I figured I might head to the movie theatre or something. Don’t suppose you’re free to come too? I can start your movie education” he grinned.

“I..well, thanks. It can be kind of thankless job really so..it’s good to hear sometimes.” He said as he watched the kid with confusion. Was this what normal friendship was like? He hadn’t really had one of those since Remy. The man was full of confusion, but there wasn’t much to be felt here. He actually appreciated the change of pace for once. It would be nice to have a friend who didn’t cause him any kind of grief really. Remy had caused a bit of that since he’d met the man. Not to say he didn’t like him, but damn if he didn’t come with baggage. “Me? I was just headed home I suppose so if you want to I guess? Sure?”

“Nobody’s job should be thankless, especially one like yours” Billy said. There wasn’t much confusion when it came to Billy, he was a pretty easy to read kind of guy. Billy had magic but not too much baggage, not the sort to cause D’Art any problems anyway. “Really? Great” Billy smiled, “Let me just text my boyfriend so he knows I’m with a friend and not at the studio for the afternoon. So I know you aren’t used to films but do you have any genre preference?” he asked as he pulled his phone out.

D’Artagnan smiled a bit and nodded. “I appreciate it but it’s rare. So thank you. “ Really he’d only planned on going home and curling up in bed after another boring day of work. What harm could a movie do? He shrugged at that. “Anything that will keep me awake is my preference really. Don’t have the patience for subtitles. Or talking ones without any kind of action in them at all.” He admitted with a shrug.

“Action is a good choice, always fun. I totally agree about subtitles by the way, you have to be in a specific mood to watched a subtitled movie” Billy said putting his phone away. “Do you have a car or shall we take mine?” he offered.

“I don’t really have the attention span for longer things..one of the girls I was friends with once tried to make me watch an entire series of Doctor Who, but I only ended up falling asleep two episodes in.” He admitted and frowned some. “Well my car has several work related things I’m not exactly at liberty to share at the moment..so. Yours?” He would lock his, hiding any sensitive documents that might be lurking about, like his paperwork from the threat. He really didn’t need the press snooping around in it if left unlocked.

“Sounds like a marathon series isn’t a great idea for you” Billy said, “One or two episodes maximum at a time” he suggested. He could watch episode after episode but he knew not everybody could, Justin got bored after a while too. “No problem, don’t want you getting into trouble” Billy said with a smile.

“Bored me right the hell out of that series. I have not wanted to go back and watch it since.” He admitted as he set the auto lock on his car and nodded some to the use of Billy’s car. He shot Athos a quick text telling him where he was going and he’d be back later than expected so he didn’t worry. He didn’t see how the kid could put up with this sort of job as he looked back over the set. People fleeing to their cars just because of a bomb threat and no real bomb. Tsk. He supposed also being a Musketeer played into having a bit thicker skin but he really didn’t see the problem with continuing on. In fact he’d given them the green light if they wanted to once the bomb squad and proper units had cleared out to continue on. But most of them acted like frail little leafs on the wind. D’Artagnan really could not wait to get out sooner.

“That’s such a shame, it’s one of my favorite series. Although the latest eps have been a little iffy” he admitted as they moved to Billy’s car. It was a mid range car, practical but nice. Black with red detail. Billy really loved his job, he loved the hustle and bustle of a studio and when he’d previously been assigned to just Zelda things had been great. She never would have called it quits after a bomb threat. But since she’d left and they’d decided Billy would assist any star who needed an assistant things had slowly been losing their shine. He still loved the set but some of the actresses were awful.

He unlocked the car and they got inside, “So D’Artagnan tell me about yourself?” he said smiling at the man.

He looked out the window watching the world fly by. It was weird being a passenger with anyone but Athos lately. He hadn’t in some time. “Everyone seems to like it, but it’s too long for me. Guess I’m not too into that kind of thing.” Everyone he’d asked about Doctor Who seemed to find it crazy that one person in the world didn’t like it.

The boy shrugged. “Not much to tell really. Um..Currently living out of a hotel I guess, currently trying to find a home after my boyfriends place was damaged.” He wasn’t really allowed to talk about much concerning the Agency, and honestly there wasn’t all that much to discuss when it came to it.

Billy was happy to drive, he rather enjoyed it and he knew the area around the studios fairly well now. “I guess it’d be boring if everybody was a fan” he observed before listening to D’Artagnan talk.

“Oh I’m sorry to hear that. Have you found anything promising?” he asked, “I moved in with my boyfriend a few months ago and it’s been lovely. At least you still have each other right?”

He nodded, but frowned some at the memory of the loss of their home. Fortunately he seemed to adjust rather quickly to the idea that he couldn’t go home anymore and the hotel was currently home, but it was still a little sad. He still liked that place. It really was the first place he actually considered home. “Nothing terribly promising yet. Few leads though. It’s a start in any case.”

“Well I’ll keep an eye out for you too” Billy offered, “Is there any area in particular you want to be in?” he asked, since he didn’t know where D’Artagnan lived currently. Though he knew most people in this county travelled.

“I didn’t even think of location..”That was another thing to consider. There really was a lot to house hunting. He made an exasperated sound. Sure he had things he wanted, but he hadn’t even given a second thought to location. “This is harder than I thought it would be.”

“Oh I’m sorry” Billy said, “I thought I was being helpful. I guess I was lucky just moving in with Justin, I didn’t have to think about any of that kind of thing. Is there any chance your boyfriends old place could be fixed?” Once again Billy was trying to be helpful. He really should just give up sometimes.

“I know. It’s not you. Just the hotel thing is getting kind of old.” He admitted. He wanted out, he wanted a place to call theirs but it was proving a lot harder than he initially thought to find that perfect home. Some days he wondered if it was even out there. Today was one of those days. D’Artgnan offered a faint shrug to that. “I don’t know if I can go back there. I haven’t since it was destroyed.”

“I can understand that. You want space to call yours” Billy nodded in understanding as they pulled into the movie theatre parking lot. “Too many memories huh? Well you could always buy some land and build. I had a friend who did that because they couldn’t find anything they liked. It only took a few months too”

“I’m tired of feeling like and being a guest.” He shrugged. “They’re always coming around and changing stuff or moving things I don’t want moved if we forget the signs. It’s annoying.” He glanced over curiously. “Build our own hm? That could be something..” He actually seemed to like this idea quite a bit. “Yeah. I didn’t..exactly handle it gracefully.” He admitted as they pulled up. “I can’t even remember the last time I’ve been to a movie theater.”

“Mmm that’s what I don’t like in hotels” Billy agreed as he parked the car neatly, “I can send you some website details about it if you like?” he offered, building your own home seemed like a great idea to Billy. He liked being able to customize things. “Well if you get bored or don’t like the film just let me know” he offered easily, “But I’m hoping you’ll enjoy it”

“I’m pretty sure Athos wants to murder them all by now. I’m not far behind him really.” He admitted. He didn’t particularly enjoy having all his stuff moved about just because they forgot to hang the obnoxious sign. Every time he was one step closer to night raiding that hotel. He nodded some. “How long is this thing?” A little worried about sitting through lengthy things. He really didn’t have the attention span for it.

“Then I will definitely keep an eye out for you and send you those details over” Billy said, hoping to prevent any news headlines about a couple going crazy at a hotel and wrecking the place. “Uh 92 minutes, which is about average” Billy told him, “Like I say if it’s too long just tap me and we’ll leave and grab a drink or something”

He nodded to that and checked his phone one last time to make sure no important messages got missed. In his line of work sometimes it was hard for him to put away the phone, even when trying to relax. "That sounds good. Just... No clubs okay? " he knew the other man wouldn't get it but he'd tell him that story later. They got up to the box office and he offered to pay, having forgotten about the free ticket thing.

“I promise no clubs - I want to hear your club story later” because there had to be one. Once at the box office Billy shook his head at D’Artagnan and flashed his work ID which got them two good tickets and even a free bag of popcorn. “Come on let’s see if you like this enough to watch til the end” he grinned as they made their way to the screen.

Bars and things were just fine, but he was a bit turned off of clubs since the whole arresting fiasco. He rolled his eyes at that as the kid had suggested he wanted to hear the story, and D’Artagnan made a face. “Fine fine. Later than.” It wasn’t exactly his proudest moment. D’Aragnan let Billy lead the way in than since he seemed to know where to go and nodded. “No promises, but I’ll try.”
