Mia had left her house not long after she woke up. She’d left a note, because she knew it wasn’t her parents’ fault. She felt like she was torn between two different worlds, and she couldn’t catch a grip on which one was real. She’d left through the window, scared to risk having to talk to her dad. She’d wandered around the campus, trying not to look too much like a crazy person. She could use a run, and she found herself wishing she’d worn her running shoes.
She shouldn’t have made the post, and when she got replies from way too many people, she edited it. Probably not the most effective edit, but the comments were only aggravating her further. When Bronn said he was on her way, she realized she had to stay put and wait for him. It wouldn’t be too long, she knew, the way Bronn drove. It would be a relief to see Tyrion. She felt safe there.
For the car ride, Mia sat in the backseat, her knees drawn in to her chest, clutching her slurpee. She’d only taken a few sips. Normally she was more talkative, but she couldn’t get out more than a word or two. After three or four minutes, Mia gave her phone to Bronn, realizing the conversation with Kevin was going to drive her crazy if she kept it up.
