Jace was really ready to run. It just so happened that he was getting ready to do that when Alec started texting. Well, he and his cousin were in sync today, and really, they hadn't been doing much together. He wondered why that was, and suspected it had a lot to do with Magnus. He couldn't help but think of things he knew from the dreams. He remembered Clary accusing Alec of liking Jace. That dream was so long ago, and yet he remembered it perfectly. He tried to hold onto more details, but that one stuck.

He sat on the grass outside the apartment building stretching. Usually he warmed up a little differently, but simple stretches seemed to be what he needed for the day. It took Alec a few extra minutes to get there anyway. "Hey," he said, hearing his cousin approach.

Alec's mind was a bit out of sorts; while he had enjoyed the trip to visit his family there was one reality that was still weighing on his mind. That was the fact that his father hadn't reacted well to his 'coming out' and he had yet to hear from the man since that day. He wanted to call but he didn't think it would do anything. He'd somewhat talked with Izzy about it but it didn't really help him. He was a worrier, even about things that he couldn't really control.

He did his best to 'hurry' but he'd been walking for a bit so he didn't see the need to rush. He gave a wave and replied with a "hey" as well. "You know, I still need to change into running clothes, right?" he pointed out.

Jace looked up at his cousin when he approached, giving him a pout. "Fine, fine," he said, jogging in place for a few minutes. Jace was naturally athletic with tons of energy. He had always been that way even as a young boy. He ran before he could walk and didn't stop.

Instead, he entertained himself by practicing moves he learned in Tai Kwon Do while he waited. "We need a few demons around here to practice on," he said when Alec came back down to meet him.

Alec didn't take long to change and he made sure to leave his phone in room. He didn't like carrying it during his run. Once he was back out in the correct attire, he shook his head at his cousin's words. "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that having demons here is the last thing that this place needs." The area had a 'habit' of having weird things take place and demons weren't exactly something to take lightly.

"So, why the sudden desire to go out on a run? Are you slacking off on your other exercise?" he asked, teasing in a sarcastic tone.

"Come on, Al," Jace laughed, shaking his head. Golden blond locks fell in his eyes. "That would keep it interesting. We could be actual shadowhunters." Weird things did take place, and it always left him wondering if this is what they actually were. At some point, their entire dream world would be reality. "We've been training for it."

"I feel like it. Parkour is my specialty anyway." He got up, giving himself a few last minute stretches. "Among other things." He snickered at Alec, ready to go. "Do you think you can catch me? I seriously doubt it." He took off down the street, away from the apartment, waiting for Alec to follow him.
