I have...a reason to smile.
Who: Maleficent and Aurora
What: Mal promised Aurora a date
When: Yesterday
Where: Mal's place
Status: Complete
Rating: PG-13 for implied sexytimes
Was this the best idea? Hardly a day went past without thinking about Aurora, and Maleficent did owe her dinner. She told Aurora to stop by her penthouse, implying that they were going out so she must dress her best.
Instead, she was cooking, herself.
This was more successful than she expected, but she did cheat with magic.
Aurora wasn’t exactly sure what to expect, but knowing Mara, the place would be be amazing. She dressed accordingly in a dark blue, one-shoulder strapped cocktail dress. She hadn’t been sure what to do with her hair, so she’d left it down.
When she arrived at Mara’s place, she rang the bell.
The penthouse was gigantic, taking up an entire floor of the building it was in, with a view of the ocean. The living area was richly furnished in a fashion that was modern and almost sterile, but there were hints of changes. Some ferns on and potted tree in a corner, some fae-like things that Maleficent had started to add. It was very much the picture of a woman in transition from one stage of life to another - or perhaps a woman in conflict.
And when she opened the door, she was wearing a white dress with a long v-neck, and she looked at Aurora like she wanted to devour her.
The combination of the dress and the look left Aurora speechless for a moment. “I...you look amazing,” she said, once her brain was able to find words that seemed, well, more appropriate than the first ones she’d thought of. “And...wow. I…” She took a deep deep breath and then chuckled nervously. “I feel like I’m a little under dressed.”
"Thank you. You look amazing as well." she reached over and stroked the side of Aurora's face. "Come in. Dinner is already set." Ahah, the trap is sprung!
“Din--you cooked?” Aurora grinned. Fancy dinner without going out? Wow.
“Yes. I may have cheated, just a little.” Her finger trails down Aurora’s neck to her bare shoulder, before she turned to lead the woman inside. Part of her thought that perhaps she ought to put an end to this, before she got hurt. But then that part of her looked at Aurora and forgot why she should.
Aurora followed Mara inside, grinning slightly. “Magic?” This would be interesting. She felt a little nervous, though. Mainly because Mara was wearing an amazing, obviously high-class dress, and this was probably the fanciest date Aurora had ever been on, even if they weren’t leaving Mara’s penthouse.
It was the kind of dress that could be just shrugged off if the opportunity presented itself, not that Maleficent was planning anything like that. Or if she was it wasn’t conscious planning. “Make yourself comfortable. Would you like some wine?”
Aurora knew she should really say no to the offer of wine, but, as before, she didn’t really want to. “Yes, thank you.” She set her purse down and looked around for a moment. “You’ve got an amazing place.”
“Thank you. I’ve been trying to do what I can with it.” She gestured as though to say it didn’t really matter. Though she appreciated Aurora’s opinion.
The wine was chilling in some ice, and Mal poured some for Aurora. She weighed her words, then said. “We can drop formalities. You may call me Mara or Maleficent, whichever you choose.”
“Maleficent?” It was a very different sounding name. “Is that you name there? In the dream world?” It...suited her, somehow. It was majestic, but there was a bit of an edge, too, Aurora thought. Just like woman it went with.
“Yes, that is my name there. A suitable name for a Faerie, don’t you think?” It was a dark name. For a person who’d grown darker and darker. She wondered how much longer before Aurora took her light away.
“I think it’s lovely,” Aurora said. She took a sip of her wine and smiled at Maleficent. “So...what did you make for dinner? Or is that a surprise?”
"I did promise you Italian. I made chicken parmesan with an alfredo sauce, and some vegetibles on the side." She took a sip of her wine, before bringing a tray in from the kitchen to the adjacent dining room. She'd waited so it would keep warm.
She tried to ignore first ‘date’ nerves.
Aurora grinned. “It sounds amazing,” she said. When Maleficent returned with the tray, Aurora’s eyes widened. “And it looks and smells amazing, too.” And it really, really did.
"If I followed the recipe right, it should taste as good as it looks." And that's where the magic came in - Maleficent's cooking ability was non-existent, so she'd made a spell to teach her to cook. Simple! “Please. Enjoy.”
She looked at Aurora, almost eagerly.
Aurora was glad to begin trying such an amazing looking meal. She took a bite of the chicken and closed her eyes. “Mmm...this is amazing!”
“I am glad you think so.” Maleficent sat across from her. The table was close enough to allow them to talk, and small enough to say that the CEO of Palvano Corp rarely entertained guests. It let her stare, at least.
The food was really good, she thought with surprise. She raised both her eyebrows. “Perhaps I really can cook.”
It was a nice setting, Aurora thought. It was intimate, and the food was amazing. “You can definitely cook.”
Maleficent smiled happily. "I enchanted it to stay warm, as I didn't know if you would make it on time or not. Do not fret, it won't hurt you. Once you cut into it, the enchantment faded."
That was impressive. And Aurora liked seeing Maleficent smile. “Thank you. It’s the perfect temperature.” Aurora continued eating, pausing now and this for a sip of wine.
Barely tasting the meal, Maleficent kept sneaking glances at Aurora. Subtly, she used magic to ruffle the woman’s dress, and smirked.
Aurora blinked at the ruffling. She raised an eyebrow at Maleficent and finished her wine. She couldn’t really manage anything like that, but she could lock eyes. And get distracted by the plunge in Maleficent’s dress again.
The older woman straightened her back, giving Aurora a better view as she did so. She took a long sip of her wine, eyeing the blonde while ruffling her dress further.
Aurora swallowed hard. "May I have some more wine?"
“Of course.” Maleficent had lean over to pour the wine for Aurora, and she made sure to move with deliberate slowness. “Say when.”
By the time Aurora said “when”--and she did say ‘when,’ rather than ‘that’s enough’--the glass was almost in danger of overflowing, and Aurora was blushing.
“Drink slowly,” Maleficent warned, sitting back and giving Aurora the most amused look she possessed in her arsenal. The truth was, she’d enjoyed giving the show. Aurora’s presence was constantly annoying, in that ‘I need her around’ sort of way. Why, she’d taken to having someone follow her around! For safety. Of course.
Aurora nodded and took a sip of her wine. “How was your day?” She grinned, a little shyly. “Besides the cooking part, I mean.”
“It went well. I took the day off, myself. There was little to do and I had to make preparations for dinner.” And her spell. Looking at Aurora, she almost wanted to destroy her prep work. Almost.
But it was for a good (to her) reason. And it wouldn’t harm Aurora, and that was important. There was a brief flash of sadness in her eyes, before it was hidden behind a bright smile. She wanted Aurora before she lost her, and if all went well, she’d have her.
“That’s good,” Aurora said, smiling. “I’m glad you took some time to rest. You need to so the stress doesn’t get too high.” And less stress seemed to mean more smiles, and Aurora like that. “You smile more, now. I’m glad.”
“I have...a reason to smile. I rarely did before. At least not any reason that was a good one. My job doesn’t lend me many friends.” Was Aurora a friend? Quite possibly.
Now that was a disconcerting thought.
That made Aurora smile. “I’m glad you have a reason. And I like being part of that reason.”
“I am fortunate you’ve not tried to sue me,” Maleficent joked. “I can barely tear my eyes from you. I may have to transfer you to someone else, but I’m selfish.”
“I wouldn’t sue you! I don’t want to transfer, either. We just need to find more time to see each other outside of work.” Aurora grinned and took a sip of her wine. “This is a good start, I think.”
“And just how much would you like to see of me?”
Aurora managed not to choke on the sip of wine she’d just taken. She flushed and took a deep breath. “I...well, I want to see a lot of you..." Aurora’s heart was beating really fast. “I’ve never…really, um..." She took a deep breath and closed her eyes for a moment. "How fast is 'too fast'? To you, I mean?"
“There is no too fast if I get what I want. There is too slow, of course.” She trailed a finger down one of her pointed ears, while gazing at Aurora. It felt like a business negotiation. Well. Few people could turn down her offers. As long as Aurora couldn’t turn it back on her, she was winning. “I want to taste every last inch of you.”
Aurora had wanted to see Maleficent out of the dress she was wearing the moment she saw her in it. The faerie’s comment about tasting Aurora just served to greatly intensify that want. That desire. That ache.
Aurora stood up slowly, careful not to overturn her wine glass, and made her way to stand beside Maleficent. Her heart was beating hard enough that she almost wondered if Maleficent could hear it. She trailed her fingertips down Maleficent’s horns before grasping them and using them to tilt the faerie’s face up toward hers. Aurora locked eyes with her for a moment, then kissed her.
It was perhaps the single sexiest moment in Maleficent's longer-than-she-wanted-to-admit life. The purposeful way that Aurora approached her. The desire in her eyes. Even in the way she touched her horns. This time she was the one to moan.
The moan sent a shiver through Aurora. Carefully, without breaking the kiss or letting go of the horns, she shifted to straddle Maleficent, lowering herself onto her lap. This felt amazing, and she didn’t want to stop.
This was really happening. For once Maleficent felt vastly out of control. The moment Aurora straddled her, her hands found the woman's legs and rubbed up, pushing her dress up as she did so. She let Aurora have control, though with Aurora 'let' is about the right word. With the blonde it was best to get out of her way.
Aurora’s breath hitched slightly as Maleficent pushed her dress up. She let go of Maleficent’s horns to let her hands trail down to caress her cheeks and the edges of her ears. Aurora resting her hands on Maleficent’s shoulders for a moment, kneading gentle, before reaching behind her neck to see if there was some sort of fastening there or it that part of the faerie’s dress was solid.
There was a fastening, a tie, and almost as soon as Aurora touched it, the fabric came loose, and slipped down. The only thing keeping the top of her dress from sliding all the way off was Aurora's body pressed against her.
Part of Maleficent, the part that she hated, wanted to stop Aurora. Stop them before this went too far, before she broke Aurora's heart - and before Aurora broke hers.
But that part was drowned out but a selfish, needy hunger. She deepened the kiss, greedily.
It was Aurora's turn to moan as Maleficent deepened the kiss. She ran her hands over the newly bared skin of the older woman's neck before moving one hand to push down the shoulder of her own dress before shifting just enough to free her arm before bringing her hands back to tangle in Maleficent's hair.
Aurora ground her hips down against Maleficent's, pressing their bodies as close together as she could. She'd never felt this intensely about anyone before, and she didn't want to slow or to stop.
The hideously expensive bottle of wine was now forgotten as Maleficent pull Aurora’s dress down further. The feel of her skin under her hand made her entire body buzz with anticipation. Miraculously she got them to their feet, carrying Aurora towards the bedroom. She set her on the bed, gently, then stepped back to let her dress fall into a foomp at her feet.
The move to the bedroom was a bit of a blur, but once she was on the bed, Aurora focused completely on Maleficent. Watching that dress land in a puddle around the faerie's feet was even more amazing than she'd imagined. Maleficent naked was like...something out of a painting. Aurora gazed up at her worshipfully for a moment before working to remove her own dress.
Maleficent ran a nail down the front of her throat as she watched Aurora undress, then reached behind her head to let her hair fall down loose around her shoulders and back. Her wings flexed behind her, the tips twitching. This girl was half her age, but she didn't care. "Magnificent.”
Aurora blushed at Maleficent’s compliment. She moved closer and rested her hands just above the faerie’s hips. “You’re magnificent,” she murmured, eyes meeting Maleficent’s. Her heart felt like it might break out of her chest.
"You make me that way." She actually grimaced, like she couldn't believe something that sappy had come out of her mouth. She let one hand roam the expanse of Aurora's back, while the other cupped her cheek. "You can say no."
Aurora grinned, leaning her head into Maleficent’s hand. “I want this...I want you...”
Now Maleficent felt nervous. Except for Stefan, her love life was abysmal. She'd focused all of her energy on her business, and been ruthless at it. There was no time for even casual hook ups - and too risky. But it wasn't like this could get either of them pregnant - at least not without magic on Maleficent's part. "Good. I'm glad."
She wrapped her wings around them both, as if to hide them from the world. As if this was somehow wrong and should not be seen.
Aurora was nervous and elated all at once. She hadn't done this part before. Stolen make out sessions and groping were the limits of her personal experience.
Being wrapped in Maleficent's wings made her feel a little less nervous. She felt...safe. Which was a good feeling to pair with the desire she felt for Maleficent. She pressed her lips hungrily to the faerie's and backed toward the bed.
The bed didn't creak, and accepted their weight easily. It was probably more comfortable than any bed Aurora may have ever laid on, if she was of a mind to notice. But Maleficent was kissing Aurora with overwhelming need, so she doubted her young lover would even notice. She hoped several nights reading...interesting fiction...would ensure she wasn't a complete fool in bed, though.
The bed was comfortable. That was about all Aurora noticed, because all that really mattered in the world to her at the moment was Maleficent and the way their bodies moved together.
Time blended together until Maleficent had no way of knowing how long it had been.
One wing was tucked under Aurora, pulling her close against Maleficent's chest as the older woman struggled to make sense of the emotions she was facing. She pressed her face into the blonde's hair, catching her breath and trying to pretend there weren't fresh tears on her face.
She caught words on her tongue, before they could escape, and sighed deeply.
It was all a little overwhelming. And intense. And good. Aurora was out of breath and felt like she fly...if she wasn’t also a little exhausted. Maleficent pulled her closer and Aurora tucked her head under the faerie’s chin. She clung to Maleficent still, enjoying the way their uneven breathing matched.
Aurora wasn’t sure what to say and wasn’t even sure she could manage speaking just yet. She settled on pressing a kiss to Maleficent’s collarbone and sighing.
"That was..." Satisfactory? That word felt wrong. Insulting. Maleficent sighed again. "Wonderful." Certainly better than her father, and the Faerie had a brief, uncontrollable glee over that. The question was, how could she rub it in his face without Aurora finding out? She turned her head to look down at Aurora and her breath caught.
She was beautiful, with her hair wild and her skin glowing and Maleficent's desire for revenge faded.
Aurora smiled at that. She propped herself up just enough to gaze down at Maleficent. “It was amazing,” she said. There were things she sort of wanted to say, but it also seemed...just a little too early to say them. And it might be better to save them for when they weren’t both basking in the afterglow. So Aurora settled for kissing Maleficent, tenderly this time, then leaning their foreheads together for a moment. “You are amazing.”
"I know I am, but I pale in comparison to your beauty." She brushed her hair behind an ear, then stroked at her ear. She seemed disinclined to move, and she wasn't going to kick Aurora out of bed.
Blushing slightly, Aurora smiled at Maleficent before cuddling against her again, head resting on her chest. She liked this part, too.
“Would you like some more wine? We do not have to get up.” Maleficent waved her hand, and green light filled the room as the wine and glasses floated over. Cheater. She grinned at Aurora. She liked to show off.
Aurora grinned and shifted into a sitting position. She leaned her back against the headboard and took one of the glasses. “That’s really handy.”
Maleficent poured the wine by hand, then set the bottle on the end table. With her free hand, she resumed stroking Aurora's hair. She wanted to memorize this moment, and cherish it. She froze time.
"I am a monster, yet you look at me as though I am not. Sweet Aurora, what are you doing to me?" She touched her cheek, wishing she could hold time like this forever. Wishing she could stop Aurora's dreams where they were right now.
Time resumed, because it must, and she smiled at Aurora as though nothing had happened. "It has it's uses."
Aurora smiled, unaware of the pause of time. She took a sip of her wine and leaned her head against Maleficent’s shoulder. “This has really been a wonderful evening,” she said.
“I hope you didn’t have any plans for the morning.” She licked her lips, then kissed the top of Aurora’s hair. “Because I am not letting you leave.” Ever. Well she couldn’t say that part.
“My morning is all yours,” Aurora said, grinning. “I can’t think of anywhere I’d rather be, really.” She couldn’t think of a better way to start a day than waking up next to Maleficent.
