"You should," Lydia replied with a smile. "Though it's a shame it's a rare thing now." Even in the middle of her parent's fighting, their divorce, they had taken the time to at least try to raise her right. If they could manage that, Lydia didn't think making sure your child grew up learning their manners was so hard, but apparently it was. It was a treat when she ran into guys like Hiccup, she just wished it wasn't a treat.
"I should know that by now. And yes. I'm pretty sure there's a notary in every town hall." She laughed a little at that. "The world always needs notaries!" It had been a while since she'd actually needed to get anything notarized, but she knew they were still around.
At the question about what there was to do, Lydia's smile brightened. "I think the quicker thing to do is try to find out what isn't around here. Movies, bowling, ice skating, rollerblading. I used to go to this little store with my grandmother where they taught you how to paint. There's the mall which has a lot of other things inside of it..." Lydia let her voice die out. "I guess it all depends on what you want to do."
