It wasn't the most logical switch when it came to a future career. The same question had come up when he told his father that he was changing majors. He had explained it the best that he could and still hadn't gotten the man on his side about the change. He didn't think there was anything that he could say. It was a safe future with a bioengineering major to being an English major.
"I wanted to do something different," he said looking Tony in the eye. "I could have continued studying for a degree in bioengineering. Something that I excelled at or I could push myself into trying something different, riskier." He meant riskier career wise in the future.
