Obi-Wan is aging surprisingly well (obi1) wrote in valarlogs,
Would it have struck Loras as comedic or tragic if he knew Obi-Wan thought the same of him, that he held some sort of answer? Obi had a history of being drawn to people he felt had some quality worth learning. That was why he'd trusted Mr. J at Eton, it was why way he'd married Emily. He'd thought them so good, so exceptional, so much better than he. And perhaps Loras was a little less good at times, but he most certainly was exceptional. Possibly the most exceptional man Obi had ever met.
And Obi knew one of the reasons why Loras wanted to keep him close--despite any others--was because he understood that Obi needed him. Needed him to survive. Needed him as shelter, more than he needed the house or the spare room.
He gave Loras a much lighter clap on the back, as if to say, I know. I believe you. "But this time, I'm not running."
