McCoy - Outside Irvine General
McCoy’s phone buzzed while he was standing outside of the ER entrance at Irvine General. He pulled it out of his pocket and checked the text. It was from Joanna. Apparently, school was canceled, and she needed a ride home. He sent a message to his neighbor, the woman who normally watched Joanna after school, and asked if she could pick up his daughter. This ice and snow thing was really throwing a wrench in the works. Not only was it causing trouble in his personal life, but he’d had to take on an extra shift in the ER to help deal with all of the ice-related injuries and accidents coming in. It was a mess. People didn’t know what to do. There had been car accidents, people slipping and falling, ice falling on people, all sorts of craziness.
He breathed out, a long plume of white in front of him, and closed his eyes. Hopefully this bizarre round wouldn’t last for too much longer.
