Things had been going a little better for Justin now that he’d been seeing Dr. Pickering regularly and had enrolled in physical therapy for his hand. It certainly hadn’t been like the physical therapy in his dreams where he’d spent two months practically trying to relearn how to use his hand after the bashing, but instead exercises to strengthen the muscles. There was still the issue of nerve damage from the initial injury, but there was little they could do about that and so far things had been getting a little better. His hand still cramped up if he used it for too long, but with the exercises he was learning, it didn’t stay that way for as long as before.
He’d also had a few more dreams, which had caused him to remember the exact events of the bashing as well as how he had dealt with everything afterwards. Living with Brian again had apparently helped quite a lot, because it had helped him to get used to being touched again, something he’d shied away from at first. All of these things had left Justin in a better mood in the waking world and as a result, he and Billy had begun to have a regular date night where they would go out and do something instead of staying in and cooking, which Justin did enjoy, but he liked going out too.
On this particular night, he had just arrived at Billy’s apartment to pick him up and after parking had headed up to his boyfriend’s apartment.
Billy had loved the idea of date night, he loved cooking and just being at home with Justin but they had kind of settled into that routine pretty quickly so going out was a lot of fun. And he had to admit he liked walking down the street holding Justin’s hand, it was a great feeling and he often just wanted to tell random strangers how happy he and his boyfriend were. It was possible he was a little giddy, he was blaming Zelda’s wedding plans.
It also helped that Justin was getting physical therapy for his hand, Billy had been so worried when he’d found out about it and partially guilty too. But now he was getting help and recovering it was like another weight had eased from them. All in all it meant everything was pretty good.
His own dreams had been continuing at a fairly slow pace though he was now dating one of his teammates in them. A young man called Teddy whose ability was similar to the Incredible Hulks, he was still enjoying them and his powers were slowly growing.
Opening the door when Justin arrived he smiled and immediately stepped forward to kiss him, “Hey” he said as he pulled back arms around his neck.
Justin smiled against Billy’s lips as he kissed him back, hands going to the brunette’s waist, “Hey. Ready to go?” They hadn’t actually decided what they were going to do, but that made it more fun sometimes. Planning their night on the fly made it more interesting than if they’d planned it out ahead of time.
“Mmmhmm” Billy hummed, “Yep all ready” he said releasing his boyfriend and grabbing his keys from the table by the door. “You had any thoughts on what we’re gonna do?” he asked, like Justin he quite liked the fun of not choosing or planning way ahead of time, it made it exciting, like a mini adventure.
Justin shook his head as they headed outside to his car, “Are you in the mood for anything in particular?” This was the first step to deciding where they were going to go for dinner.
“Nothing too heavy?” he requested, “Other than that anything you like” he added with a shrug.
Justin thought for a moment as they reached his car and he pressed the button on his keys to unlock the door, “What about sushi?” It was one of the lighter things that he could think of at that moment. “Go to the place we went the first time.” He smirked over at Billy from over the roof of the car.
Billy smiled and nodded at Justin, “I think that sounds like a great idea” he replied before getting into the car. “So, hows your day been?” he asked, looking over at his boyfriend.
With a destination set, Justin started the car once Billy was inside and buckled up, “It was good. I got the job in the art department for that new CW show that just got picked up.” He grinned over at his boyfriend, excited to tell him his news.
“Oh my god, Justin that’s amazing” Billy exclaimed leaning over to kiss him since they hadn’t moved yet, “I knew they’d snap you up. That’s brilliant, really. We have to celebrate”
Justin grinned as he kissed Billy back, “I was gonna tell you later, but I guess now was as good a time as any.” He gave Billy another kiss before sitting back and putting the car into gear then started towards the restaurant, “Wanna go to a club after dinner? Have some drinks and do a little dancing?”
"That sounds like a great celebration night" Billy nodded, looking at Justin with a smile. "And then we can come home and I can show you just how proud I am of you" he added with a wink.
Justin’s brows rose slightly, still grinning as he glanced over at Billy as he reached a red light, “Oh really? I think I like your idea of celebrating.” Grin still upon his lips, he faced forward and started driving again, “Ya know, if there were any clubs here like the one we always go to in my dreams, we wouldn’t have to wait till we got home.” Justin had been to a lot of clubs in the area and as far as he knew, none of them had a back room like at Babylon.
Billy grinned too, since they’d first slept together his confidence in sexual situations had grown a lot though he did still blush sometimes. Like Justin suggesting clubs they could have sex in, his eyebrows rose “Wow. That sounds kind of exciting” he said smiling.
Justin’s grin spread a little and he couldn’t help but suddenly imagine him and Billy in the backroom of Babylon, other guys around them also having sex or getting blow jobs. Justin had never been shy when it came to sex and wondered what Billy would think about having sex in public, “Yeah. Brian was back there often. I wasn’t back there as often, but I wasn’t a stranger to the back room either.”
Billy had overcome a lot of shyness with Justin, so as long as he was focused on his boyfriend he’d probably try anything. “It’s so strange how different our dreams are”
“I know. Mine are fairly normal and yours have super heroes.” Justin said as they reached the restaurant and he parked the car, “Mine are a little exaggerated, I think though. It feels like an over dramatized TV show sometimes.”
“I have to admit mine sometimes seem like they should be in some superhero comic book or something like that” Billy said, “Not that I can complain about the pretty awesome powers I’ve got from them” he grinned before they got out of the car.
After getting out of the car and coming around to join Billy, Justin laced their fingers together and started walking towards the entrance to the restaurant, “You should show me some more of your powers sometime. It’s pretty cool. Do you think you’ll get one of those tight costumes sometime?” He glanced over at Billy, smirking wickedly. If Billy could oggle Justin’s ass in a wetsuit then Justin could do the same if Billy got a superhero costume.
“Sure” Billy agreed easily, enjoying the feeling of Justin’s hand in his, “I don’t mind showing off, I’m getting them under control pretty well now. Magnus and Merlin are helping a lot” he said before laughing, “I have no doubt it’ll turn up eventually. You like the idea of a tight costume huh?” he smiled blushing a little.
“Tight costume. No costume. Either is fine with me,” Justin smirked and leaned in to press a kiss to Billy’s cheek just before he reached out with his free hand to open the door. Once inside the restaurant, Justin requested a table for two and they were shown to a table right away. “So, about Pride. Should we do the same thing as last year and try to get a group together? I can ask Gaz about her plane again. I wonder if her husband would go if she went.” Justin honestly couldn’t see the older man attending Pride, but it was possible that he might go.
Billy laughed, "Pretty sure we're good at no costume already" he replied. This restaurant was one of his favourites and it already held some good memories for him and Justin, plus the food was really tasty. "I think a group would be nice. There's been a lot of people coming and going so it could be interesting. He might, though I'd hate for him to feel out of place" Everybody would be welcoming but if he wasn't comfortable there he might feel awkward.
Justin laughed and nudged Billy’s foot with his own lightly, “That’s very true. If you get your costume, should I go out and get some spandex to wear too or do my wet suits count?” He smirked and opened his menu despite the fact that he was more than likely going to get the same thing that he always did. “I’ll make a post about it soon then. Los Angeles Pride is coming up too. It’s before San Fran, so we could go to that first.” Justin enjoyed going to Pride anywhere and with the steps in equality that was happening these days, he enjoyed it even more.
Billy rolled his eyes but laughed too, “Well I do have a certain fondness for your wetsuit” he grinned. It was no secret that Billy’s favourite part of surfing was ogling his boyfriend, he hardly ever went in the water himself. Picking up his own menu he nodded, “That sounds good” he agreed, Pride always held an extra special place in his heart now because it was where he’d gotten to know Justin better. “Oh what are the dates do you know? I just need to give Zelda notice and make sure anything that needs doing is done before then”
Justin pulled out his phone to look up the dates, “Um...LA is June sixth through eighth and San Fran is June twenty eighth and ninth.” He slid the phone back into his pocket once he was finished, not realizing that there might be anything else happening on either of those weekends.
Billy tapped a few things on his ipad which he’d retrieved from his bag, but he stopped and looked up with a frown, “Please tell me you didn’t mean the twenty eighth? That’s Zelda’s wedding, we’ll be in Scotland” he said.
“Fuck. I hadn’t even realized,” Justin hadn’t thought much about the fact that Pride was the same weekend as Zelda’s wedding before until now, “Well, we can still go to LA Pride. It’s closer, so at least we won’t have to fly.”
Nodding Billy put his ipad away, “Yeah, it’s a shame but at least we can do LA” he said, he’d miss going to San Fran but they’d have a great time in Scotland he was sure. And they’d have a few days out there just them before the actual wedding.
Justin nodded, “And we can always go to San Fran another time. It’ll be less crazy and crowded so we can see more.” He smiled across at Billy as the waiter came over to ask if they were ready to order, “Um..I think I am. Are you?”
"Yeah that's true" Billy smiled at Justin, he was glad his boyfriend didn't seem to mind. "Yeah. I'm ready" he replied.
