"I missed you too."
Who: Satele and Rowanne
What: Reunions after the great getting stuck with people plot! Also confessions about stuff in the past.
When: Thursday
Where: The firehouse and then the car
Status: Complete
Rating: PG-13 for closet sex.
Satele picked up Rowanne. If by picking up you meant drove to the fire station and dragged her into a closet somewhere. It was incredibly unlady-like and would likely result in a lot of cat calls, but she didn't really care. It was hard to describe how much she'd missed the woman. She needed to talk to her about it. After she was done getting her hands places.
And nothing had been going on during a really boring shift of waiting around, not that it was NICE to hope some idiot set their kitchen on fire, but you know, sometimes you kind of had the half a thought about it, but not when there were other things that were a lot better going on, anyway... Satele's visit was definitely welcome. And there might have been a little wave as the closet door shut. And giggling.
It was a show of passion that, while becoming increasingly common, was still pretty rare for Satele. She caught her breath, after, nuzzling a little bit in the afterglow and holding Rowanne against her, "I missed you."
"I missed you too." Rowanne told her, nuzzling back. "This needs to be a more often thing as far as I'm concerned."
"That can be arranged," the british historian said softly, kissing her. It was almost a purr. The closet was a tight fit, but she didn't care. It meant she could be closer. Jane hadn't been a bad person to be attached to, but it had gotten....well different. She probably needed some alone time. Later. She wanted Rowanne time more.
"Definitely." Rowanne kissed back, and well, she liked that the closet was a close fit. It made it seem that much more intimate right now, and that was a good thing. "We never seem to get around to plotting out that sort of thing but..."
"We take it as we go." Satele smiled at Rowanne, and stroked her cheek, "When is your shift over? I want to treat you to dinner."
"About half an hour and it's been quiet so far..." Rowanne hedged thinking things over. "I don't think any of the guys would REALLY mind if I leave about fifteen minutes early after I get cleaned up a little..." Too bad the showers in the locker rooms were kind of crappy or they could have had a lot of shower fun time too.
And probably too public for Satele's taste. The closet was pushing it a little. She kissed Rowanne again, "Well I wouldn't want to get you into trouble, love."
The last word sort of slipped out.
"Well, if you don't mind waiting a little bit longer than that." Rowanne started, and then blinked, and grinned. "Did you just...love? Really? That's kind of...well amazing."
"It's a term of endearment!" Satele flushed, looking anywhere but her eyes, "That's all it's...."
"It was nice." Rowanne smiled, trying to pull her close again. "I liked it."
Satele let her, and rested her face on Rowanne's shoulder. She was letting the other woman be the 'knight' right now. It felt good, "That's a relief."
"Of course I need to come up with something good for you." Rowanne lightly stroked her hair. "I'll think about it a little."
"I quiver with anticipation." Satele grinned, and lifted her face to look into Rowanne's eyes.
Rowanne was glad that she was looking back at her now, and focused her gaze there for a long moment. "When I do, you'll be the first to know." She promised, serious.
"You're the sweetest." Satele laughed and nuzzled her again. She'd planned on going back to Rowanne's place. She'd even packed an overnight bag.
Rowanne would love that. Hey, maybe she should get Satele a toothbrush and stuff for times like this.
That would be taking their relationship to interesting places. Satele wasn't sure she was ready for that. Or maybe she was. At least it would give her an excuse to stay more often. She could do the same to Rowanne, but she was worried the woman wasn't comfortable in her condo.
Rowanne was okay there, but she was sort of...overwhelmed by it all. While her family had had money back before the fire and her parents were okay now, it was...well, they were horse people. Their money had all gone into that and other things had been kind of...simple. So she could get used to it for Satele but...
Satele tilted Rowanne's face, "Thinking about something?"
"Mm not really." Rowanne smiled at her. "Well, wondering if it's time to get you stuff for my place, Toothbrush, things like that. It would be nice, you know?"
"I'd like that." Satele brought her head down and kissed Rowanne again, "But first I need you again."
"Well then." Rowanne grinned. 'We could try that here? I've still got a little time..." Wink wink.
In answer, Satele slid down Rowanne's body, a wicked grin on her face.
Rowanne snickered and made sure the door was firmly shut. There were a lot of things that they had yet to explore from this position...
Satele was growing to enjoy this part.
So was Rowanne, and she was getting a lot more competant too. If the guys outside the closet trading grins was any evidence to that fact.
Eventually, and daintily, Satele exited the closet and looked around innocently.
And Rowanne followed,. though she was smirking as she tugged everything back into place at least for the walk to the locker room. There was a whistle. But just one.
Satele nudged Rowanne with her shoulder, "I'll wait in the car."
"Good idea." Rowanne smiled sweetly. "I've got someone to punch out."
Winking, Satele sauntered out of the firehouse.
A while later, and with the blood washed off her knuckles, Rowanne emerged, her hair held back and in something decidedly more civilian. Including a skirt. Yes, really. She dressed like a girl when she went to work sometimes. Why not? Okay, so it was denim and the shirt had the station number on it and all. Still.
Satele stared at her legs.
"Hey." Rowanne said as she headed for the car and caught her watching. That was when she did a little twirl before hopping in.
Swallowing, Satele got into the car with her, "I like you in that."
"Well thanks." Rowanne grinned at her. "Now I've got a reason to wear things like this and all."
"You do things to me I shouldn't..." Satele swallowed.
"You shouldn't what?" Rowanne asked her, gaze going soft. "Is this a jedi conflicting thing coming into play?"
She nodded her head, starting up the car, "Yes. I'm sorry. I..obviously get conflicted by this."
"well, It's not a surprise." Rowanne told her. "I mean, really. If the phillosophy is coming out that way, it's bound to cause some conflict."
"It's something I want to fight. I'm not really a Jedi...Our little accident not withstanding."
"Well, true." Rowanne nodded. "And I'm glad you want to fight it. And really lucky." she added with a wink. "If that's in the back of your head though...yeah, itwould make things hard. Even if it's all deeply internal...something or other." She shrugged at that.
"I do wish I could control it," Satele admitted. "It's a great power.."
"I could see that working out well." Rowanne nodded. "It'd be excellent, really."
"Do you think I would handle it well?" Satele glanced over at her lover.
"I do, actually." Rowanne paused a moment, choosing her words carefully. "It's a tool, like the sword staff. In the wrong hands everything can go wrong, but in the right ones...it may save somebody someday. I don't know HOW yet but..."
Smiling, Satele put her hand on Rowanne's arm, "Thank you."
"You can handle this." Rowanne said, and dropped a little kiss on her hair. "I completely believe in you."
Satele's eyes returned to the road, and she fell silent for a moment. Then she pulled over, "There's something that's been eating at me and...I really should tell you about it. I don't want you to think less of me."
"I don't think I could do that." Rowanne reached over to put a hand on her shoulder. "You can tell me anything."
"Well you know how..." Satele trailed off, searching for the words, "When I was in secondary school. Sixteen..seventeen. I made a few...mistakes."
Rowanne nodded at her slowly. "A lot of people have...rough patches." She commented. Hers had involved squabbles with authority, telling the principal off and calling her vice principal ignorant without an original thought in his head. But she hadn't really done anything ELSE that way. If it helped though, she'd share the story.
Taking a deep breath, she plowed in, "I became pregnant. I gave him up for adoption and I haven't seen him since."
"Oh my goodness." It wasn't a deal breaker, but it was a surprise and well, "I can't imagine how that must have felt for you."
"I was so torn. Financially it wouldn't have been a burden, but I wasn't ready." She looked down at her hands, "I regret it, sometimes."
Rowanne nodded at that. "Well, yes," She said. "I'd imagine so. I mean, thinking about those nine months and, you know, nurturing that life and then it's gone...Even if you knew you weren't ready, that must hurt. Both having to do it and the knowledge."
"God, I love you." Satele blinked, then covered her mouth.
"I love you too." Rowanne confessed, and then blinked. "Wow. I wasn't sure how I was going to get that out. I'm...sort of glad you went first. Is that strange? The lady knight losing her nerve?"
Satele answered with a long, intense kiss, "Okay. Any dark deep secrets you might need to share?" She smiled teasingly, and a little like she was incredibly relieved and happy, "You'll always be my knight."
"Deep dark secrets...not especially." Rowanne smiled back at her. "My Lady." She said, almost like it was a pledge. "I have a lot to live up to then." And she'd look forward to it too.
"And when you need me to be," Satele whispered in her ear. "I can be your knight."
Rowanne smiled at that. "I know." She told her, nodding firmly. "Sometimes we both can use one."
"Lets get back to your place and celebrate properly. I'll even try to cook!"
"And I even have groceries!"
Satele through her head back and laughed! And they did get back to Rowanne's place - and had dessert first.
