Felicity hated clothes shopping. Don’t get her wrong, she loved clothes, loved looking nice, but shopping for them was just awful. It killed a tiny part of the geek inside of her each time she stepped foot into a shop and away from her computer.
Spotting a woman in between the racks of clothes seemingly having trouble with her smart phone, Felicity’s curious nature couldn’t help but rear it’s ugly, spectacled head and she stepped over to address the woman. “You ok there, miss? You uh...you look like you’re having some trouble there,” she offered kindly.
Portia was not having a good day, her phone had updated itself that morning and ever since then it had been playing up. She did okay with technology but she wasn’t whizz and it was rather frustrating. She’d dropped off some fresh designs at one of the shops which stocked her clothes but when she’d gone to leave her phone had told her she had an email but now wasn’t letting her see it.
Looking up she flushed a little, “Oh, thank you. It’s just this stupid thing, I think I’m cursed with technology”
“Well then, it was good fortune that you ran into me,” Felicity said brightly to her. “What can I help you do?”
“Do you think you could?” Portia asked, after explaining what had happened, “I’m about ready to just throw it at something”
“Sure, I’m a whiz with these kind of things,” Felicity shrugged, holding her hand out to take the phone from the woman. “I’m Felicity by the way. Felicity Smoak,” she introduced with a smile.
"Thank you so much Felicity" she said happily handing over the phone. "I'm Portia and you must let me repay you with coffee or something"
“Ooo, coffee, you talk my kind of language Portia,” Felicity laughed. “Ah, I see what you were trying to do, ok...here you go,” she quickly sorted the task out and handed back the phone. “I assume you didn’t want the hack that let’s you monitor NSA satellites as well, right?” she joked, pointing at the phone.
Portia laughed too, "It's the least I can do. Unless you want fashion advice my skills are pretty limited" When the phone was handed back she looked at her new friend in awe, "You're amazing. I have no idea what that meant but I'm pretty sure you are the most techy person I've ever met"
Felicity laughed. “Well, I wouldn’t say no to a professional eye on my wardrobe,” she admitted. “I love bright colours as you can probably tell,” she gestured to the electric blue knee-length dress she was wearing at the moment and her bright pink lipstick. “Yeah...I’m pretty awesome at techy stuff,” she admitted proudly.
"Bright colors are good, you just need to be sure they’re the right bright colors for you" Portia smiled, "We should arrange a shopping trip maybe?" she suggested, "Oh you are going to become my new favorite person then because I'm hopeless"
“I’d love to go on a shopping trip!” Felicity grinned, excited to have made a new friend. “I have to admit, I am particularly gifted when it comes to technology,” she admitted easily.
Portia grinned, “Well I’m particularly gifted when it comes to shopping and clothes so I think we’re destined to be great friends”
“Sounds like it,” Felicity clapped her hands together excitedly. She hadn’t got many friends and this could be a great friendship.
