Renly had to smile at man's poor attempt to sound fierce, admiring the fire that burned in his eyes even if it didn't quite reach his mouth. That beautiful mouth... Renly's eyes traced the curve of those lips hungrily, recalling how they felt when they brushed against his own. How familiar it had felt, to kiss a total stranger.
You're a knight and I'm your squire... The words felt strange to Renly's ears, as if he'd known them long ago and somehow forgotten their existence until they'd passed through those beautiful lips. It was absurd, of course - but Renly had accepted the absurd when he'd hopped in his car and made the drive out to Long Beach. When Loras had kissed him, and he hadn't pulled away.
Worst of all was the shaky, anguished that he could hear in Loras' voice. It made him want to gather this man up in his arms and shield him from that which would cause him pain.
"I want the truth," he murmured, reaching one hand up and sliding it around to cup the back of Loras' neck. "No matter how crazy it sounds. I'm here, and that's crazy. So we can be crazy together." He frowned then, teeth worrying at his bottom lip once more. "It doesn't make any sense, but... I believe you."
