Who: Setsuna and the Shinigami
What: Fighting the Forsaken
Where: somewhere in the Sierra Nevadas
When: Tuesday and Wednesday
Rating: PG-13

Deep in the mountains, Sylvanas had been hard at work. Ghouls patrolled the paths, abominations guarded canyon choke points, and in the sky frost drakes soared. A page right out of Arthas' book but really, she didn't care.

Her fortress had been hastily erected with magic and the efforts of a thousand tireless undead. At it's base were those who were strongest. The ones with wills, the once most loyal and like her subjects in the dreams. Sentient, living yet unliving, with all the free will and advantages that gave them.

A thousand an hour. She raised ghouls, little more than canon fodder but more than enough to overwhelm a city. Ten an hour she raised Forsaken. Generals, strike troops, special forces. Many of them were mages with fire and arcane and warlocks with their demons and priests to keep everyone standing. Ten an hour she constructed the Abominations, hulking monstrosities as tough as tanks. One a day she raised a drake, with icey breath and a mean temperment.

And she’d been at it for two months. All told she had a million and a half at her disposal. So when she sensed the Shinigami in the mountains, she sent a drake to bury them in an avalanche and block the paths with snow, and then moved her forced in around them….

(OOC: Feel free to fight and kill and slay lots of demons and undead! At the end, Sylvanas will be sending a super mega drake at them shortly before Setsuna slips ahead of everyone to confront her at the top of her tower and make her blip away! Which will get posted tomorrow night! And Sylvanas will occasionally lob shadow arrows at them. >.> You can also handwave the details and discuss what happened in here too!)

Umbrae: Battle Summaries
[info]renji

[aka - what happened with my toons, from start to finish]

Renji: Taking names and kicking ass, in bankai mode. Renji has full use of his sword and all of his powers, which makes him a formidable opponent. Of course, he's also a very vocal opponent, so any battle with Renji is a real yell fest. He probably got whacked by a drake's tail and went flying, because a battle isn't complete unless Renji gets messed up somehow. And he'll be fine because no way does he want someone like Mayuri offering to inject him with anything to 'fix' him.

Mayuri: Goes bankai not so much for the wide area poison dispersal, but because it's better to mow down foes with a giant caterpillars that has blades shooting out of it's throat. Not at all disturbing! And also because the caterpillar can simply eat some of the undead and not suffer any ill effects, afterward. After it's killed a sufficient amount, Mayuri is ever the scientist and will be collecting his usual amount of tissue samples. And more so after the battle's over, before he is outtie and cackling his way back to his lab.

Yumichika: Yumi likes fighting and even if he has all of his potential unlocked, he doesn't rely on his sword's powers at all. For him, he shouldn't have to rely on it, and he's still under the impression that it should remain hidden. Maybe not so much out of fear of reprisal, but because it could be used to his advantage if it's kept secret. He probably took on some of the abominations, since he's used to battling the more challenging opponents thanks to being a member of squad 11. A member of squad 11 that swears - as soon as the battle's over and he's cut a bitch - he is going to need so much overly expensive retail therapy.

Orihime: She hung way way back to heal anyone who might need it, and had to throw up her shun shun rikka's shield more than once. She abhors battle though and didn't like all of the fighting and (re)killing, feeling pity for the poor undead creatures. It is enough of a sight to behold, that she wants to go home to Japan after it's over and not have to look at something like that, ever again.

Gin: Of course he's going to find out from Rangiku and show up with Rangiku. He helps out with wiping out wide swaths of the cannon fodder undead with his zanpakuto's powers. He hangs back though, knowing that he needed to keep an eye out against the other captains, since he's still known as a traitor. Gin is quick since he's an ex-captain, and he's staying out of everyone else's way to avoid being attacked by not so friendly fire. When it looks like the others are capable of closing in and finishing the job, Gin is wisely out of there (or as soon as Rangiku leaves) before any inter-shinigami conflict can arise.

Byakuya: He's another who's capable of clearing a path for the others. He has an axe to grind because Rukia was hurt and would like to reach Sylvanas. However, he's quiet, cold, and calm during the entire battle, just as he is with everything else. It is with great determination that he cuts down mages and warlocks, demons and priests, without a second glance. He is held up only by the abominations and eventually the drakes.

Rukia fought as bravely as she possibly could. She isn't any where near as good as she will be in the future, but she cut through as many beasties as she possibly could. She got banged up a little bit but not too much.

Here goes mine!

Toshiro would have used his bankai once the battles progressed, which they naturally did. He probably fought close to Rangiku. He did notice Gin was there and was wary at first, but he didn't try to get into it much with the traitor.

Ichigo fought, but not for the reasons that everyone assumes. The undead were going to hurt people, so he was fighting to protect. He's not as badass as he is in canon yet, so he can't yet do bankai, but he did what he could in typical Ichigo fashion. I mean, c'mon, even Ichigo before he knew bankai could go up against Kenpachi and survive.

Yachiru had fun. Plain and simple! She went killing things and do whatever she could to keep moving. She didn't even use her sword much.
