Orange County was insane. Now, Carlos knew that it wasn't just this county that had had to suffer the effects of the volcano that had suddenly appeared and erupted near Hawaii, but that didn't stop him thinking that the root of the issue hadn't started here. Everything seemed to start here. It was weird beyond belief, and so far completely unexplainable.
Carlos was a busy sort of man -- he assisted in teaching at a local college -- basic biology and chemistry, and also worked full time in the science and development department at Stark Industries. But science was kind of his life, and even when working a lot of hours he didn't forget that.
Which was why he was down at the beach -- carefully collecting samples of the still ashy looking water, and some of the sand. There was no way that this had been a natural occurrence by any means, and he was determined to get down to the facts of it all.
