Who: Aurora and Hua Mulan
What: A Date!
When: Backdated: Saturday, February 1st. Evening
Where: A Club
Rating: Family Friendly
Status: Complete

It had been a little over a week now since Aurora and Mulan had decided to go on a real date for once. While it was nice to know that this time when they went out she wouldn’t have to wonder what it was, she was still nervous about it. She was nervous because now that they were officially calling this a date, she didn’t know exactly what Mulan was expecting or if she should act any differently and most importantly, she wasn’t at all sure what to wear. They were going dancing, which meant Aurora had to dress up and while she had plenty of clothes to choose from, she didn’t go out clubbing often at all and wasn’t really sure what would look right. This would have been a lot easier if Ruby or Steph weren’t working. In the end, Aurora had chosen a knee length lilac dress, somewhat similar to the one she wore in the dreams with a black lace shrug over it. She hoped that she looked alright and that Mulan would like it.

Mulan had spent hours agonizing over what to wear. Should she go girly? Butch? Somewhere in between? She could pull off all the look and had fought at times in dresses, so she wasn't at all indifferent to being girly.

She'd eventually settled on a kind of ruffly dark blue blouse and a pair of black slacks that were almost bell bottoms. A little in between, really, and as she applied a bit of make-up she hoped Aurora would like it. Comfortable shoes for dancing, too.

She drove to Aurora's and parked, looking at the apartment and taking calming breaths. This was a date.

She was going on a date with Aurora. This would be less nerve wracking if she hadn't dreamed she had Aurora's heart in her hand.

After getting dressed, Aurora faced the new challenge of trying to figure out what to do with her hair and makeup. She didn’t spend quite as much time on those as she had on figuring out what to wear though and when she was finished, she went to the window that looked out onto the front of the building. She wasn’t waiting long before she saw Mulan’s car and after a moment or two of debating, she decided to head down before Mulan got the chance to ring the buzzer instead of waiting anxiously. As the elevator doors opened on the lobby, she headed towards the doors where she saw Mulan on the other side.

Mulan brightened up when she saw Aurora. The woman looked stunning and she forgot how to English, muttering something under her breath in Chinese as the blonde approached her. She wanted to rush to her and double check her heart was actually still there. And kiss her. And sweep her off her feet. And hold her hand.

Instead, she gave Aurora a light bow. “You look marvelous.”

Aurora was just coming out of the building when Mulan spoke Chinese so she didn’t catch up, but she couldn’t help but blush as Mulan bowed and complimented her, “Thank you. You look good too.” She was a little nervous, now that she was standing in front of Mulan and could feel her heart beating fast against her chest, not really sure what she was supposed to do next. She hadn’t been on a date in a while and even then she was nervous when it came to first dates. Mulan had an advantage though, because they were already friends when the other guys she’d gone out with before, they had barely known each other on the first date. “So, should we get going?”

"We should get going. I look forward to making a fool of myself on the dance floor." She reached for Aurora's hand, then stopped herself and dropped it to her side. That was going a bit far, wasn't it? Too soon? "And...thank you for the compliment."

“Oh, I’m sure you’ll be fine,” Aurora smiled as they started towards Mulan’s car, unaware that Mulan had almost took her hand. While she probably would have blushed furiously, she wouldn’t have minded so much if she had, “So, how was your day?” She asked as they got into the car and she buckled her seatbelt.

“It was very good. I’ve been considering… Joining the police,” Mulan replied, glancing at Aurora out of the corner of her eye as she spoke. It was perhaps foolish, but she wanted the other woman’s approval in this. Craved it like nothing she’d ever craved before. “But I need to make inquiries.”

“Really? I think you’d be really good at that.” Aurora smiled, thinking about how some of the cocky police officers would probably underestimate Mulan because she was a woman only to find out just how qualified she was for the job, “Any police force would be lucky to have you.” Okay, so maybe Aurora hadn’t actually seen Mulan in action, but if she was in the military then she had to be good.

“Thanks…” She started the car and they drove. After a little while, she put her hand on Aurora’s leg, hesitantly. She hoped this place didn’t suck. She hoped she could dance half decently. She suddenly realized she could feel Aurora’s skin beneath her hand and flushed.

“Of course. And I mean that too,” Aurora would never say something she didn’t mean or say something because she thought it was what someone wanted to hear. She was always sincere and honest. She’d been glancing out the window when she felt Mulan’s hand on her leg and her cheeks flushed, but she didn’t say anything to tell her to remove it. She trusted Mulan and didn’t think she’d try anything so she didn’t see a problem, but her cheeks stayed bright red for another moment or two.

The most Mulan did was a little bit of rubbing, but nothing overly much. Just a stroke stroke and caress of Aurora’s knee. “You’re a good person, Aurora…”

She wondered if she should tell her about her recent dreams. She wasn’t sure how to say ‘I held your heart in my hand’ without sounding like a creeper, so she refrained.

Aurora shrugged, her cheeks flushing a bit once again, “It’s just how I am.” She heard that a lot actually, but when it came from Mulan, she actually felt like it was true and that the other woman wasn’t just saying it to be nice.

“And that’s what makes you so wonderful.” Mulan was on the edge of gushing which would be bad, so she took a breath and swallowed it. They were almost to the club already. She was going to stick out like a sore thumb.

“You’re gonna make me blush.” Not that she wasn’t already doing that, but at least in the dark car, Mulan couldn’t see that. It Mulan was going to stick out then so was Aurora cause dancing so wasn’t her thing, but she would suck it up and try to have some fun, because she knew that in the end it would be worth the experience.

The club was active and energetic, and as Mulan led Aurora in she felt even more out of place. But she could relax and have fun, and as long as she kept her date close she didn’t need to worry about her being hurt. What she did have to worry was how everyone was dancing. She hadn’t been expecting that. The couples were all so….close to one another. “Well...drink first?”

Aurora had forgotten just how loud the music was in clubs and wondered if her and Mulan were going to be able to hear each other over the volume of it. She too was a little nervous about the closeness of the other couples dancing, but she was going to try and not worry about it and have fun. Hearing Mulan’s question, it helped her to relax a little bit, because she had been able to hear her over the music and that answered that question, “Yeah. That sounds good.”

Making a bee-line for the bar, Mulan guided Aurora, holding her hand tightly. She ordered two drinks that didn’t have dirty names and handed one over to her date. She barely taste her own going down and was grateful for the added strength. “Enjoy!”

Aurora was grateful for Mulan holding her hand, because she didn’t think she would be able to move through the crowd the way that Mulan did, so effortlessly. When they reached the bar, she watched as the other woman ordered their drinks and took the one offered to her when they were done. “Thank you,” She said, taking a sip to find that it had a fruity taste, which was one of the things that she liked when she did drink alcoholic drinks. She didn’t like anything too strong, so this drink was perfect.

Mulan looked pleased that she’d picked a good drink, or at least that Aurora had enjoyed it. She watched the woman drink, and stroked her knuckles with one finger. Then with a second finger, she stroked up Aurora’s wrist. “There are so many attractive women here, yet I can’t take my eyes off of you.”

“Are you just trying to make me blush all night?” Aurora asked, cheeks flushed as she took a sip of her drink to try and hide it, “Because if you keep talking like that, I think my face is going to be bright red all night.” And wouldn’t that be embarrassing.

“Yes.” Mulan kept stroking at Aurora’s skin for a few more moments, before she took her hand and started to pull her towards the dance floor. she thought they could just mimic the people around them, except she was probably going to die of embarrassment.

“...I don’t know where to put my hands…”

Aurora found that she liked the way Mulan was touching her, but she wasn’t sure if she should say anything or not, so she just took another sip of her drink, blushing. At least that was until Mulan decided to lead her out onto the dance floor. Glancing around at everyone else, Aurora tried to figure out what to do as well, but in the end turned back to the other woman and shrugged a bit, “I don’t really know either.” With a guy she probably would have wrapped her arms around his neck, depending on what they were dancing to, but they were both women, so she wasn’t entirely sure.

Mulan was taller, so she rested her hands on Aurora's hips. It was a little thrilling. She could feel her body heat through her dress and rubbed a little. "Let us just see how it goes. If I..." She leaned in a little, finding her bravery as she slid a hand around to the small of Aurora's back, just above her rear. "If i come on too strongly let me know."

Aurora’s pulse rose slightly as Mulan placed her hands on her hips then slid one around to the small of her back, “O...okay.” She said, placing her own hands on Mulan’s shoulders, unsure exactly where else to put them. It was different than being held by a man, but it was nice at the same time. Aurora didn’t feel small and like she could be easily overpowered by Mulan unlike with men who always seemed to tower over her and were big and broad.

She spent a moment watching the other dancers, before she started to move like them. There was a lot of hip movement involved and she felt a little idiotic at first. But it was kind of fun and felt amazing. It was quite literally the most sexual thing she’d ever done with another person but she wouldn’t admit that out loud.

As Mulan started moving to the music, Aurora tried to mimic her as best she could. It had been a long time since she’d gone dancing, so it was almost like the first time, “You’re not as bad as you said,” She decided to try and make a little small talk as they danced in an attempt to keep from becoming too nervous.

"I'm just trying to do what everyone else is doing," Mulan admitted. She felt a strange sort of fogginess in her head the longer they danced. After the third song she slid a hand up to the back of Aurora's neck, and this time she didn't ask permission before she kissed her.

The longer they danced, the more relaxed Aurora had become and when Mulan’s hand slid up to the back of her neck, she barely even tensed, so when the other woman kissed her, her first instinct was to simply kiss her back. It wasn’t like the first time they’d kissed, when Aurora had randomly kissed Mulan and it wasn’t even like the kiss on New Years. This kiss was relaxed and Aurora wasn’t concerned with the other people around them.

The warrior let out a little sound, half an exhale half a whimper. The kiss lingered as they danced. It felt like her body was in sync with Aurora's, heat coiling inside her and spreading to her limbs and face.

The kiss brought them closer together and Aurora was aware of the differences in Mulan’s body compared to a man’s. Of course the differences were obvious when you looked at her, but feeling her body pressed up against hers was very different. It was different than any time she’d hugged Ruby or Steph or another girlfriend and wasn’t as hard as being pressed up against a man.

Mulan hesitated another moment before her other hand strayed downward. She didn’t really know what she was doing but she’d done enough reading, she thought. And it felt good. She patted Aurora’s butt like ‘there, that’s a good ass.’

Aurora hadn’t expected that and she jumped slightly as she felt Mulan’s hand on her butt, which caused her to pull away from the kiss, “I’m sorry...I didn’t...I didn’t expect that,” She couldn’t help but giggle a little, knowing that her cheeks were probably bright red and hoped that she hadn’t offended Mulan.

"I'm sorry," Mulan said, though she didn't entirely sound it. She had this big, goofy grin on her face, but she didn't move her hand. She did turn as red as Aurora as she admitted. "You..hit all my buttons."

“Oh...I didn’t know…” She knew that wasn’t a bad thing, but it was a bit of a surprise, because she hadn’t even been trying. Aurora could only imagine what they looked like to anyone around them, the both of them blushing the way they were.

They were still dancing, and Mulan felt like she was going to die if she didn't get some kind of relief. "Maybe we should... get a drink. I need to cool down." She giggled, then covered her mouth.

“A drink sounds good.” Aurora needed to sit down too. Her feet were starting to hurt a bit from the dancing. Mulan’s giggle made Aurora giggle and she smiled, glad that Mulan was having a good time.

She guided Aurora back to the bar, stealing a few kisses on the way. This was...really a great date, she thought happily.

Aurora may have still been blushing a little bit, but she was more relaxed now than she’d been before and smiled each time Mulan kissed her. It was a really nice date so far and while she didn’t know what else was going to happen, she hoped that the night continued to get better.
