Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Laura Kinney, Julie Grigio
What: Out dancing and drinking!
When: Recently, but before Laura and Logan got burgers.
Where: A club somewhere!
Rating/Warnings: PG-13 for underaged drinking, but mostly it's a tame log.
Status: Complete!

Laura desperately needed some fun. Sure, she could have let Jubilee drag her out to this or that club, but her new friend Julie was a blast to hang out with. That, and the evening would be way less complicated than hanging out with her plus one. If they were even plus ones. She had no idea what they were.

Yup, way less complicated with Julie, which was why she’d called her friend up and asked her to drag her off to some shenanigans, preferably of the drunk-and-dancing-to-music variety. The club of choice was in full swing by the time they got there, and Laura immediately dragged Julie off to the dance floor. She didn’t stop for a drink until at least two songs had been danced through, which was roughly the amount of time it took to forget all her cares and ‘let her hair down’.

Julie was more than happy to go out and have a few drinks. She had been good about not drinking since New Year’s, so now it was time to just go out. She made sure that she wouldn’t get sloppy drunk again for a while. Besides, this was apparently about being girls and just having fun tonight. Distractions were good because then she wouldn’t think about Roger and this weird zombie “thing” he had going on in his life. She wanted to spend time with him, but it was next to impossible if he was sick and refusing to see her. Once they got past the two songs she could already feel the sweat forming and she motioned to Laura, “Drink. I need something to drink.” She nodded her head in the direction of the bar and hoped the girl would follow.

The other girl did follow, gasping for air a bit herself and grinning widely. It was nice to get away from her problems and everything else and just let loose.

But they'd definitely been dancing long enough to work up a sweat, and Laura was suddenly parched, "I'm so thirsty! Maybe I shouldn't have kept us on the dance floor so long. But that last song was one of my favorites, I just had to dance to it."

“That’s totally okay. I know how that is,” she admitted with a laugh as she grabbed Laura’s wrist and the two made it to the bar and she leaned up against the bar to make herself seen. She tossed her blonde hair over her shoulder and pushed up her breasts. All important things to do in order to get one of the cute bartenders to come serve you first. She also had a few bills in her fingers indicating they were ready to pay. While they waited she turned her gaze to Laura and asked, “What do you want to drink?”

Laura wasn't drinking age, but Julie had managed to score her a good enough fake. She was already wearing the band that said she could drink alcohol if she wanted to, though she really didn't mind what they drank right now as long as it was refreshing.

She smushed her assets up against the bar, too, so that they'd get twice the attention, and grinned, "Something fruity!"

Julie was a horrible influence and Laura probably should have run far away from her, but honestly - life was dull without a little craziness to it. She knew a lot of people and securing a fake was fairly easy to do around a college campus. So when Laura agreed to having one Julie wasn’t going to stop her. She would make sure they didn’t get date raped or drink too much. The fruity drink made her laugh as she craned her neck out and caught the attention of the cute bartender who quickly made his way to the two girls who were currently spilling out of their tops, “Hi there, cutie. Can I get two sex on the beach? Mwah.” She pursed her lips in a kiss at him and then turned to giggle at Laura when he rushed off to make their drinks. If they were lucky he would give them extra alcohol for being cute.

The bartender got a saucy wink from Laura before he turned around, and she watched him run off to start mixing them up. She knew what was in a sex on the beach, though she had no idea where she'd gotten that information from.

Nor did she really care right then. It was time to have fun after all. She grinned at Julie, "I like ordering drinks with dirty names. We should order screaming orgasms next."

“Oh yes! And maybe a blowjob or a red headed slut. Dirty drink names are my favorite,” Julie admitted with a giggle. There was just something fantastic about saying a dirty name and seeing if the bartender would blush or not. It was great that Julie was on the same page as her. The bartender was quick at his job and soon enough the drinks were in front of her and Julie handed over the amount plus tip, “Alright, let’s drink and dance!”

Everyone who knew how to party the smart way knew to take their drink with them while they danced - or leave someone to watch them. Laura latched onto her glass firmly and took a long sip of it, then grinned and started sashaying her way back towards the dance floor, "This is my favorite part!"

She had no idea what was in a blowjob or a red headed slut, but now she definitely wanted to try one of those. First, though, was dancing! A song with a really addicting beat came on, and Laura couldn't help but sway her hips back and forth while she sipped.

“I totally agree,” she admitted with a laugh as she took a long sip of her drink. It was smart to dance with their drinks because they were less likely to get drugged if that situation ever happened. Thankfully she had never had that happened, but she had seen it done only twice in her life. She was very careful of herself and others when she went out. Once they were on the dance floor again she closed her eyes and moved her body to the beat and danced with Laura.

Julie looked after her friends and Laura always felt very safe partying with her. She felt like she could be herself, too, whoever it was that she was. Mainly right now she was someone who really really enjoyed a good beat and also really liked it when she knew people were watching.

Generally, the only person she really cared about watching her was Jubilee, but there were some guys that were checking her and Julie out, and she decided to make the best of it. She danced a little closer to Julie and winked at them, "We've got admirers. We should mess with them a little."

Dancing close to another girl wasn’t something Julie really made much of a protest about. It always happened when you hung out with your girlfriends and you got too drunk. Girls liked each other, but when it went past dancing that’s when she would probably protest. So she let out a laugh and reached over to grab Laura’s hand to tug her a little closer, “Those guys wish they were good enough to dance with us.”

"They're probably drooling. Poor, poor guys." Laura replied, giggling a bit. Dancing close was all she was comfortable doing with girls who weren't Jubilee, anyway, but she knew how the guys reacted to two hot girls dancing with each other. Whatever was going on in either of their lives, it could be solved momentarily by a little extra attention.

Or at least, that's how she felt about it. A few pairs of eyes on her always made her feel a little more confident, even though she was generally pretty secure.

“Sucks to be them,” she answered with a laugh as the two girls continued to dance and drink. She honestly didn’t care much about dancing with other guys right at this moment. Tonight was a night to be a girl and be single and carefree. Laura was a great partner to take out on nights like that because she was also stern when it came to guys trying to crash the party. She felt a guy come behind her and she turned to shoot him a look, “No thank you!”

Backing her friend up completely, Laura waved a hand at the guy to shoo him away, "Bye now!"

It hadn't ever come to it, but Laura was completely able to go all karate kick on a guy's behind if she had to. No one harassed her friends, not on her watch. She was hoping it wouldn't really come to that, though. That wasn't why she was here, and while eyes watching them dance was welcome, pushy guys would just kill their buzz.

Julie could handle it as well. Going to a military school gave you some amazing self defense skills and she would most likely flip a guy over her shoulder if he touched her after she said no. She was glad that Laura would also be able to help her out if needed and that she also agreed with telling the man to go away. Thankfully he took a hint and sulked off with his friends while grumbling under their breath. She knew they would probably have to deal with them again later, but for now it was just her and Laura. She downed the rest of her drink and moved to set it on a table.

Laura followed suit, then looked around the club a bit. She was trying to decide if she wanted a rest or another drink, or if she just wanted to dance some more. It didn't seem like a night for talking much, and she was basically following Julie's lead. The least she could do, though, was offer to the buy the next set of drinks if they had them.

"The next round's on me when you want one!"

“We’ll have to go to the cute bartender again,” she answered with a laugh as they set their drinks down. She felt bad that she wasn’t talking much to her, but Julie was letting herself get lost in the moment and her mind wandered, “So, you going to come to Irvine for school? I still need a roomie starting in the summer.” She liked the idea of Laura coming to live in her place because the two of them were already getting along quite well.

"I'm not sure if I'm going to go to school in the fall or to the police academy now, but I've still been thinking about being your roommate!" Laura nodded her head and grinned. It hadn't bothered her that they weren't talking before. It seemed like both of them had needed that time to dance, drink, and unwind from life first.

She waved one of her hands in the air, while trying to formulate the words she wanted, "I'm thinking that it might be better not to live with Jubilee for a bit. Just on my own, in a way, so that we can figure everything out without stepping all over each other."

Plus, Julie was fun to hang out with. That probably wouldn't change much if she moved in.

“Police academy?” Julie made a face at her before smiling and laughing. The police were a lot like the military in terms of training and none of that really appealed to Julie anymore. She would never fault anyone for choosing it as their line of duty, but she definitely had her own opinions about it. She had to think for a moment to remember who Jubilee was in her inebriated state, but it finally clicked and she gave a nod of approval, “Ah! Yeah, that totally makes sense. Besides, my place is in a fairly central location so you wouldn’t have issues going to different places.”

"This woman like... offered me this really nice job over christmas working as internal security in her building. So I get to take a nine week course in butt kicking and people watching and then snoop around on the people that work there, and it's kind of fun. I think people are a little scared of me and it's empowering. But I don't know yet. About the police thing. Sometimes I think it could lead somewhere good and then I'm... you know, it's also boring because of all those pesky laws and stuff." Laura scrunched her nose up, too, and shook her head. Maybe police weren't for her, but something where she got to kick some butt regularly might be nice.

She liked kicking butt, apparently, "I think I just like the idea of getting to threaten people. Like those detectives on the TV shows."

“HA!” Julie couldn’t help but let out a loud laugh at Laura declaring she just liked to threaten people, “Actually, that might be the perfect job for you. Not sure how people find you intimidating because you’re just you and I don’t find you intimidating, but hey - I’m not one of the people you would be snooping on. I think you should at least do that job because it means good money and some experience. You can see how you enjoy the security stuff and see if police work would be for you.”

"That's what I thought! And I can work there until the Fall, anyway. They said they'd work with me and my school hours, too, if I do go. So I think it'll be a nice job for now, at least!"

Another song with a good beat came on, and she did a bit of a dance in place in time to the music, "Maybe it won't be for me and then I can avoid giving police academy a try. But I should be able to afford rent either way."

She didn't know how she managed to intimidate other people, either, but she knew she did in the dream world. It was probably the claws. As long as she never intimidated her friends in the real world it was probably fine.

“Well that’s a nice job to do that. I think that it is definitely a good idea and you should go with it. Now make yourself a note somewhere or else you’ll forget this when you sober up,” Julie added with a pleased smile because it seemed like a great idea. And Julie had a habit of forgetting great ideas when she was sober. As the song played she continued to dance along until a song she didn’t enjoy finally played and then she grabbed Laura’s wrist, “Time for more drinks?”

"Yeah!" Laura pulled her phone out and quickly tapped herself out a note so she wouldn't forget. She tucked it back away, and then pulled out some cash, "Let's get ourselves some Orgasms now!"

She lead Julie over to the bar and did the 'notice' me dance all over again, putting her troubles far behind her. It was going to be an awesome night, even if those guys did ask for trouble later. There wasn't anything the two of them couldn't handle.
