Who: Ariel & Lorenzo What: A photo shoot When: Sometime in the 2nd half of June Where: Set in a rented villa, Laguna Beach Rating: PG Status: Incomplete
Considering how protective Ariel's father felt towards her, suggesting she pursue a career in modelling to finance school may not have been the soundest advice Lorenzo could have given. It was still a good way of earning money, though. Better than waiting tables or working in retail - none of which were viable options for the girl.
In spite of what the media reported about the modelling business, it wasn't all drugs, exploitation and anorexia - not the people Lorenzo worked with anyway. These people were all rather solid, hard-working and reliable individuals who took their jobs seriously whilst keeping the craziness to a minimum.
He had a shoot for a fashion magazine scheduled and invited her along to give her an idea of what working in this business entailed. She wasn't going to do it full-time but the basics were the same. They had chosen the pool of a villa as the setting.
The Italian stood in the shallow part of the pool, tousled hair, wearing a white dress shirt with rolled up sleeves and black dress trousers, an untied bow tie dangling from his neck. The girl wrapped around him sported an equally tousled look. One strap of her pale blue dress hanging from her shoulder, smeared mascara around her eyes - that look had only taken three hours to achieve.
They were aiming for some kind of post-decadent-party look or something.
"Break!" the director announced with a sigh, waving a hand dismissively, and wandered off with the photographer and his assistant to discuss a different approach.
Lorenzo unwrapped the girl from him and approached Ariel with an easy smile on his lips.
