Obi-Wan is aging surprisingly well (obi1) wrote in valarlogs,
Obi-Wan, who got by more often on coffee than actual food, did want to order something, but he wouldn't hear of Padme paying for it. He gestured that she ought to find a table and he would join her in a moment. Which he did. With a large, somewhat silly-looking coffee topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings. He liked sugar, too. (Someone had once told him that he craved caffeine and carbohydrates because he was too tight in other ways, too stressed, too busy. Obi-Wan didn't know if that was the truth, but it did sound plausible...)
He sat down at the table Padme had chosen, acknowledging to himself that he had been avoiding her, though he could sense she had no idea of Anakin's request that he do so. Obi-Wan couldn't find any sense in how Anakin could ever see him as a threat to his relationship with Padme--except for the undeniable facts that she was an exceptionally beautiful woman and Anakin was prone to being paranoid. Hopefully, neither one of them would get into trouble for meeting. They were doing so behind the boy's back, after all.
