"Working under Galaxia and becoming wild doesn't seem too bad..."
Who: Tenoh Haruka, dream!Outers, dream!Galaxia (Narrative)
What: A betrayal.
When: Last night. Or, if you want the dream's 'when', towards the end of Sailor Stars.
Where: Galaxia's throne room.
Rating: PG13 for violence, implied (temporary) death, other terrible things. It cuts off before the worst part, though, because I'm not that cruel to Haruka.
Status: Complete.
The Cauldron's energies swirled beneath the glass floors of the throne room, as if it was reacting to their ultimately failed assault on Galaxia. The four Outer Senshi were wounded and battered, their Talismans effectively destroyed by her attacks.
"Now you understand how powerful I am... but it's too late. Your destiny is to disappear after your Star Seeds are taken!" There was a pause, almost as if to taunt the wounded soldiers. "There's still another way..."
Despite the effort it took, Uranus managed to push herself up. Her allies would think her insane, but... "I'm glad to hear it!"
"It's easy. Work for me!"
The offer had its merits. Pluto and Saturn didn't understand in the slightest, of course, claiming they'd sooner destroy themselves than swear fealty to the Golden Queen who'd conquered the entire galaxy. The golden bracelets Galaxia offered them gave them a chance to live... they were the source of her powers, as Neptune realised, and to have a mere glimpse at that...
"Now choose!" Galaxia's voice cut across her thoughts, dragging her back to the cruel reality of the situation. "Surrender or die."
"I'd choose death before I'd work for you, you devil!"
"Right! Who would work--?!"
"Sounds interesting!"
She could feel her fellow soldier's disbelief as clear as day. Pluto's disbelieving gasp of her name, Saturn's terrified look... they'd never understand. They'd never fought the way she and Neptune did, never made as many sacrifices... she pressed on regardless. "If I wear those bracelets, I can live, right?"
When the Golden Queen nodded, that was the only confirmation she needed. "Working under Galaxia and becoming wild doesn't seem too bad..." She looked to her partner, knowing that she understood to at least some level. "If I can be with you, I won't hesitate to sell my soul to the devil."
"You're right..." They rose to their feet together, ignoring Pluto's protests. They were serious, yes - they had to do something to defeat this evil, once and for all.. Saturn's pleading, though, was impossible to ignore.
"Did you forget our mission to protect this planet and our princess?!" Their adoptive daughter's eyes were desperate, pleading, and it almost destroyed Uranus's resolve. She steeled herself anew, managing to fix her with a glare and brusquely telling her to shut up.
She and Neptune turned to the Golden Queen, the both of them trying to ignore their allies. This was their way of fighting... and there was truly no turning back now. "Here, take it."
"A wise choice! I'll take your Star Seeds!" Galaxia prepared her bracelets, the lights of the Galaxy Cauldron giving the gold an almost unearthly gleam.
"Uranus, we're together even in death."
"Yes... see you in hell."
Pluto called out to them again, but it was too late. Galaxia fired, tearing their Star Seeds from their bodies... and giving them the bracelets and her energy. The world went blank for Uranus, her only thought to serve the Golden Queen.
"Stand up, Sailor Uranus! Sailor Neptune!"
