It took Stiles an hour to go through his stash of candy (which was pretty damn impressive for a teenager) to pick out what to give Derek. He had a good sized paper bag (those lunch bag kind) sitting off to the side of his own bag of candy. He didn't want to give away too much of the good stuff, but he did also want to impress Derek by giving him actual good candy. Besides, not like he couldn't buy himself more if he wanted to, right? Right.

He had about a good pound or so of candy an hour later and was texting Derek for his address as he ran out the door after giving his mom a kiss on the cheek and saying he'd be back for dinner... maybe. Then he was on the road.

To Derek's place. A place he had never been before but had various fantasies about what it was like.

Honestly, he's not sure which he's more impressed with: that Stiles apparently had a decent haul, or that he's willing to share with Derek. He'd picked one or two pieces from his cousin's bags, but had left the majority of it to be sorted and traded and then secreted away in their hiding places.

Stiles knocks, and Derek opens with an actual warm smile. "And here I thought you were going to double-cross me."

Despite the declined invitation it doesn't damper his mood any. "Man, I do not envy that. Your family is gigantic. It must be a zoo on the holidays."

He laughs and grins a little as he leans in to the side of the sofa, comfortable in Derek's home. With Derek. "I'll make sure to save you some sweet potatoes and stuffing." Actually he might just make Derek his own dish of each and hide it away in the extra fridge in the garage they use for when they buy in bulk if there's a sale.
