After Jubilee left to make her own wanderings, John Jones found himself diving more into work. He was worried about his friend, and companion of ten and more years, and he was worried that she would get in trouble, or cause it, or both. But he had to have faith in her. He knew that. Even so, he tried to keep an eye out in this world and time of utterly no real tech. Due to his alien knowledge, he built a factory, slowly, machining parts to a machinist shop to machine finer parts to a finer machinist and electrical shop. And then building components. Under the main house he lived in and RPI's headquarters, which were side by side, he built a complex that was far more advanced than that of the current tech, and quickly moved to outstrip twenty first tech as well. But that was just his hobby.
Above board, he expanded RPI slowly, making it a true international company by using some of his funds to found other companies in other countries. He began to live multiple lives, abandoning sleep, which was not needed due to his nature and powers, and creating new personas to function in the different countries. Zhao Sung of China, Hikaru Bonatsu of Japan, Victor Tsankovski of Russia, James Van Foewder of England, Elaine Mollisia of France, Jane Dara Hunsk of Germany, Cole Tanner Bane of Ireland, and M’Habi of Illusa were just some of those identities.
Those people slowly gained money via different means, and founded companies, and they slowly, for different reasons, made contact with Red Planet International. By the early 1900s, almost all of them had been consolidated, though some had been forced to flee for their lives, while others had been ‘killed’ by different circumstances. It was already done, though. RPI was now an international company for real. It invested in people, and helped them, and reached out for finding new ways to do so. When the meteorite events of 1905 happened, and the earthquake immediately around it, John investigated. Part of him was busy, though, as he helped some people clean up and rebuild in the wake of the San Francisco earthquake that caused so much devastation.
And he invested in new companies, slowly., such as the Irvine Company. He was glad to see them repay the investments he gave easily and quickly, and made sure RPI helped them whenever needed. He already knew that Irvine would be born of their efforts, and it would not hurt to help a little, as he already knew RPI had.
When World War One broke out, seven of his lives were in danger, and two were ended within months, with another killed along the way in an accident that he could not find a way to have a normal mortal survive. But the war brought opportunities, as RPI invested in helping people around the world, and did its best to stay out of politics, and out of power. That way led a mess and he avoided it. RPI lost and had losses, and he made sure that this was normal.
Through it all, he missed Applejack. She had been his guiding light for only a short few months, but he loved her so much it hurt. Being away from her made him feel like everything was coming down around his ears, and only with much perseverance could he go on.
During the war and after it, he searched for Jubilee, wanting to see and find his friend. He did not want her to be another lost soul in the darkness.
