Damon had come in from school a little later than usual after a quick staff meeting that had turned into an extra hour. He was a little irritated by the usual budget discussion, which really had more to do with the athletic department, but yet he had to stay and pretend to listen intently. He really had been wondering what his girlfriend had in store. She hadn't arrived yet when he got home, so he stepped into the shower, basking in the hot water.
He took a few extra minutes to just simply let the water sooth him before appearing in a towel in the front room. Elena had let herself in with the key he had given her, which was an impressive gesture that he didn't take lightly. He actually wanted her living there, although she still insisted on taking care of Jeremy. It was still a gesture that meant he wasn't bringing back any other women, as she could walk in at any time. He didn't call attention to that detail, but it was there.
"Oh right, Halloween and my surprise," he grinned, leaning in for a kiss, trying not to get her wet since she was already in make up. "Hmmm, it looks like you are ready for the 40's. That would be about WWII." He grinned at her, always appreciative of her attention to detail when it came to his topic. "You look perfect, as always." He picked up her hand, running it up his chest so her nails just grazed his skin. He brought it to his lips and kissed the back. "So don't hold back. Whip it out." Of course he meant the costume, but he always appreciated the dual meaning.
