Who: Billy and Ginny
When: Earlier this week
Where: A cafe
What: Catching up.
Billy was glad to see Ginny, what with the last days of the television project upon them. He knew that soon they would not see each other every weekday and that felt very odd. Ginny had grown to a close friend over the last two years, and he wanted to show her he treasured that. He had gotten her a small gift, not much, but something he had ordered for her.
So he trudged to the cafe he was meeting her at. The both might be busy, but a few moments with a friend was nice.
As always, Ginny was running late and found she had to run if she had any chance of making it to the cafe on time. It wasn’t like she did it purposely but one autograph turned into another and then it just snowballed from there. Yet she wanted to make sure she was on time so she could have all the moments she could with her friend, she always was happy to see him.
“I made it with two minutes to spare. You should be proud,” she told her friend with a grin as she dropped into the open chair.
“I am!” He signalled the waiter for waters and menus and turned to hug her one armed, then grin. “Good to see you. How are things going for you?”
Ginny happily returned the hug affectionately with a smile. “Busy! There is so much to do! And here I thought when I stopped officially working there wouldn’t be anything to do. That I would be bored.” That was before she had to worry about auditions, new projects, and all her new charity work and progress.
Billy snorted. “You’re a popular actress and teen idol. You’ll never have time to be bored until, like, you’re way past middle aged, if then.” He smiled and watched her for a moment. “What all are you doing, anyway?”
"If by middle aged you mean like thirty, I can handle that." Ginny said with a laugh glad she hadn't decided to go to college like she initially thought about. There wasn't enough time. "I have a movie audition coming up for get this... A horror movie," she made a face. It wasn't her favorite type but it was a paycheck, "And I was thinking a Christmas fundraiser for Make a Wish."
“Yeah? Wow! Sounds interesting. Not your normal schtick, but everyone pays their dues, I guess?” He grinned at her, then.
“That sounds like fun! Count me in!”
Ginny nodded before ordering a tea and something to eat. “I am all for doing anything once I mean who knows maybe it’ll be fun. I mean how many movies do you get to die in by a creepy guy with a knife or whatever.” She wasn’t really sure what else would be involved but they would find out. “Great I will!”
Billy smiled, liking how she thought. “Maybe so. I hope it goes well with you.” He grinned wider. “Good.” He liked working with her, and hoped the charity would be fun too. “Its good to see you have things lined up.”
“Do what we have to do to keep busy, right?” She said with a nod. “But enough about my life, tell me about yours and such. I mean I am so busy I don’t even think I know what my brothers are doing let alone friends.”
“Of course.” He grinned at her. “Not much to tell. With the show shutting down, I am out of work for now, but still volunteering at Urdnot Ranch, which is fun, helping out the kids there. And I tutor at Creekside, where I attend school three days a week. Otherwise, life has been pretty quiet of late.” He nodded.
“If that is quiet I wonder what busy is for you,” Ginny added. She was a little sad to see the show end and people out of work and having to move on. Her mother told her it was part of life but it still didn’t mean it didn’t suck. “I like helping kids. I would want to do something like that if I wasn’t doing what I was doing.”
Billy smiled to her. “Busy is crazy time.” He grinned at her warmly. “Well, someday when you are not busy, I’ll give you a tour of Urdnot. Its a pretty good place.”
“Sure,” Ginny agreed. “Just pick the day and I’ll make time for you. I always have time in my schedule for you and one of our get togethers.” Ginny found most days she just had to take the day off when she wanted it.
Billy grinned. She was a pretty awesome woman, for sure. "You always find a way to make me smile." He hoped he could always be that sort of friend to her.
“I am only returning the favor,” Ginny said with a grin as she reached for her cup of coffee. “What friends are for after all.”
Billy smiled and saluted her. What indeed? And he smiled, Life was definitely good. How could it get any better?
“So Halloween… Have any plans? I was considering dressing as Miley Cyrus but I think my mom would have a stroke or something. That’s not even factoring in my older brothers…”
Billy laughed. “I would guess that that depends on which time period of Miley you pull from? Naked ball swinging Miley, or younger more innocent Miley.” He nodded. “And no plans, really.”
“Only naked ball swinging Miley is relevant,” Ginny said with a laugh knowing she wasn’t so bold as to do that. There wasn’t really much she wouldn’t do but parading around in her underwear or less, wasn’t one of them. “Well maybe we should find a party! I am sure there are going to be some around.”
Billy smirked. “It would make a statement to do that, but are you sure your career is ready for your first naked scene?” He chuckled, eyes warm with regard. She was a pretty awesome person. And he was pretty sure she was kidding. Pretty sure. Mostly sure. And if not, well, he would do his best not to ogle.
“I know Stark is throwing one. He invited everyone to his.” He nodded.
“No,” Ginny said with a laugh. “I mean I don’t think anyone is ready for that even me and I still have my contract with Disney for another few months so I know they’re certainly not ready for it.” She was sure that maybe some day in the future she would do it but it wouldn’t be any time soon.
“Problem solved then.”
Billy chuckled. “Then so be it. No nude scenes for you.” He grinned. He was mildly attracted t her and if he was not already in a not!relationship with someone, he would be tempted to hit on her. But he liked their friendship, too.
“So be it. We’ll hook up and go to the Stark party, then. I could pick you up?”
“Absolutely! That would be brilliant!” Ginny said with a grin glad to have something else to do with her friend.
Billy nodded to her and raised his glass to her. “To partying, and hanging out with friends!”
“I’ll drink to that,” Ginny said with a laugh as she clincked her glass against Billy’s.
