John and Glimmer pulled up outside Glimmer’s apartment, they’d just come back from a trip along the coast where Glimmer had gotten to enjoy taking pictures and John had for to enjoy Glimmer. Win-Win in his eyes.
Grabbing their bags from the back of the bike he locked it up and followed her inside. He didn’t spend much time at his own place, unless Glimmer came along, so he knew her and Faye’s place like it was his second home.
Glimmer stretched her achy limbs glad for the chance to get up and stretch and the like. It had been an enjoyable trip, very enjoyable, but there was always something about going home. It was always nice to come home and relax. “Tell me we’re just going to lay around in our pajamas and do nothing for the rest of the evening?”
John chuckled, “We’re just going to lay around in our pajamas and do nothing for the rest of the evening” he told her with a grin, “Well except maybe order takeaway and watch a movie” he added.
“You really are perfect,” Glimmer declared with a grin as she reached for her camera bag. “Wonder if Faye is home?” It had been a while she since had seen her sister and Glimmer was more than a little curious as to what she had been up to. With Faye there was no telling what kind of stories she was going to have for her. “Chinese sounds good today. I’ve had enough pizza.”
“I know. You’re lucky to have me” he teased before shrugging, “Maybe. Wanna check her room while I take our bags into yours?” he suggested, “If she’s around then she can have chinese with us” he added before picking up their bags.
“Yeah, I can do that. If she’s not I can always leave her presents on her bed so she can find them when she gets home. You know she expects us to bring her something.” Glimmer told him with a laugh knowing there was the smallest grain of truth to it. “I’ll be right back,” and with that she headed down to her sisters room to see if she was hiding there.
“Well why wouldn’t we?” John smiled, they always looked out for something. He’d have done the same if Cameron...well yes. Best not think about that John, he told himself. He dropped the bags in Glimmer’s room then came back out again. When Glimmer didn’t reappear he looked into Faye’s room. “Umm no Faye then but...is that a man’s shirt? And trousers?” he asked as he noticed clothes on the end of the bed which were definitely not Fayes.
“I don’t know, not like we’re terrible monsters and mean,” she teased with a wink before walking down the hallway to see if they were alone or not. “You know…” Glimmer shook her head a smirk blossoming on her features. “I think it is… Seems like my sister has a man friend that I know nothing about. I’ll have to talk to her about this.”
“A man friend” John repeated, “Does Faye do those? I mean she’s always said ‘no commitment’ right? It’s all fun and flirty with her” She’d certainly never had anybody still here in the morning even when John knew she’d brought someone back with her the night before.
“I don’t know,” Glimmer said with a shrug knowing that as far as boys went they were kind of a need to know type of family. They never asked and if there was something to tell they just said it. It was just how they were. “I mean unless she’s suddenly developed a love of wearing men’s clothing, which I can’t see her doing, I would have to say it looks like it.”
John laughed at that, “Wow. Maybe she saw us and decided it looked appealing to have a guy at her beck and call all day” he winked and kissed her hair before leaving Faye’s bedroom.
"Never know," she said with a laugh as she dropped the bags onto the bed and let herself out of her sisters room. "I mean she can't always be alone and I wouldn't want her to."
“Me either. She’s nice. And she’s always been cool about me staying here” John said, he got on with Faye. He’d just always been convinced she didn’t want to settle down.
“Some day she’ll find the one that’ll make her reconsider her wild ways,” She said with a laugh hoping that it would turn out to be true. “Or should I say someone that won’t mind and will be cool with it. I mean we both know she likes have a good time but she’s got a good heart.”
“Oh she definitely deserves somebody that understands her” John agreed slumping down on the couch and tugging Glimmer’s hand to get her to sit with him, “Maybe she’s found that someone”
Glimmer allowed John to tug her rather effortlessly onto the couch, "I hope so. Everyone should have that someone. Makes things all kind of easier, you know?"
“Mmm” he nodded, kissing her cheek and wrapping his arms around her, “I definitely know” he smiled at her, “I love you”
Glimmer gave him a smile of her own as she relaxed into his embrace glad he was there. She was glad that Faye allowed him to practically live at their place too. It was good for them both and she had gotten so used to him being around she wasn’t sure how she would function without him. “I love you too.”
John felt the same, he liked that they could just be together and that it was so easy to do so. They rarely argued, not seriously anyway and they gave each other space when needed. She really was the most awesome girl he’d ever met and he was so glad he’d bunked off school that day. Leaning his head on top of hers he smiled contentedly at her reply. Life was pretty damn good right now.
"Next time we take a trip we should take Faye with us. Her man friend too if she really has one... We haven't been to Vegas in a while you know."
John felt a slow smile spread over his face, “You know I think that’s a great idea”
