Hermione knew that Halloween was coming up, and she wanted to do something extra special for her husband at home. With how much she focused on school, she hadn’t had a whole lot of time to hang out with her friends, and she sometimes felt like she was neglecting her marriage, too. So she headed to the Twins’ shop, knowing that they’d have some awesome magic tricks or something that she could purchase to surprise and entertain said husband. (Maybe they had costumes, too.)
She came through the front doorway and looked around, wondering where the redheads were. She knew their employee, Verity, was on bedrest. (She’d seen that post on the network.) “Hello?”
Yes, but while Verity was on bedrest, the Twins had a replacement -- their very own different other redhead. She wasn’t in today, but that was okay because they were.
“Hiya,” Fred said from a spot on a ladder near the t-shirt wall. He might have been redesigning it thoroughly in order to take pictures and send them to Verity. Maybe.
“Hi,” George echoed, and he was across the store, focusing his camera phone on the wall. “Wotcher, Hermione? S’been a while.”
Hermione couldn’t help but break into a grin at the sight of her favorite Weasley Twins. She waved to Fred, and then responded to George. “It has. Was the baby born? Your employee. Verity? Was the baby born?” She asked, moving over to stand next to George and watch Fred rearranging the wall.
They'd better be her favorite Weasley Twins, considering they were the only Weasley Twins. Fred half waved back, and then refocused his attention on the wall. Partly they were doing it to tease Verity, but more realistically now was just the time of year when all the halloween and zombie themed shirts went on display and it would have been done whether Verity was around or not.
"No, not yet," George said, lazily moving something over an inch on a shelf in hopes of pretending to look busy. "Soon enough. A few weeks."
“Well, keep us all posted. I think she’s in my dreams. I mean, I don’t really remember her, but I remember the name from Hogwarts. I think.” She shrugged one shoulder. It seemed like all of the people who shared dreams should all… maybe… gather? Talk? Share? They didn’t have to be close friends, or anything, but at least they should all know about each other.
“I like those new shirts,” she added, motioning to the shirts with the zombies on them that Fred was re-arranging on the wall. Or was that George?
It was Fred. But he didn’t mind if she thought it was George. George didn’t either. “I’m sure she’ll keep everyone posted on her own,” Fred said, throwing a shirt Hermione’s way. “On the house, then. Advertise us.”
Hermione turned just in time to be pelted in the head with a shirt. It’d opened in mid-flight, and had covered half of her face and hair when it landed. It started to ooze down like egg yolk, and she reached up to take it. “Hey, thanks! I absolutely will.” She had a lot of friends in college that she could direct to this shop. Or the website. Either way. “You guys stocking up for Halloween? Do you carry Halloween costumes?”
“Are we--?”
“Do we--?”
Both boys laughed at her, actually laughed, and then George spread his hand out as if to call attention to the shop and the fact that it was not only decked out in decoration, but also had signs that said ‘COSTUMES HERE’.
Hermione laughed, too, going pink. She’d been so distracted by the redheaded twins and watching the wall of t-shirts get rearranged that she hadn’t looked around to the other parts of the shop at all. --Should have been telling, though, that they had all sorts of Candy Corn and Pumpkin designed t-shirts.
“Can you help me find something good?” She asked, grinning.
“That depends,” said Fred, getting off the ladder.
“What your definition of good is,” said George, raising an eyebrow.
And then they both smiled. It was frightening.
Hermione glanced between the twins, then gave a swallow, almost as if she was frightened. She wasn’t, of course, but their grins were wicked. “Show me whatcha got.”
