Since Sirius had texted Remus, all Remus could think about was school ending so that he could go to Sirius’ and see his transformation into Padfoot. Somehow Sirius finally becoming an animagus hadn’t even entered his mind when he’d told him that he had something to show him. Instead Remus’ mind had automatically gone to the more likely thing that Sirius could have been talking about and Sirius being Sirius, Remus’ first thought had of course been that he was referring to a certain part of his anatomy. Not that Remus would have minded exactly, but he had been in his classroom when Sirius started texting him and that was really the last thing he needed gracing the screen of his phone when any of his students could come up to hand in their test at any time.
As soon as school was over, Remus stopped by a thai restaurant near Sirius’ house, picked up dinner then headed straight to Sirius’, letting himself in when he got there, “Sirius?” He called, setting his own bag down in the living room then headed towards the kitchen to put the food on the table.
The large black dog came bounding into the room, rushing straight towards Remus and nearly bowling him over in his excitement. He wagged his tail, ran around his boyfriend in a circle a couple of time, then started barking. Mostly because he could. Sirius knew he was acting sort of like an idiot, but he didn’t care. He could turn into a dog, just like in his dreams! However, it did bring up a lot of other questions and concerns. Because if he could work to make this happen, what else from the dreams would come true in this reality.
Remus should have expected that, but for some reason he’d thought Sirius would be in human form when he got there and it caused him to wonder just how long his boyfriend had been running around as a dog. “I almost didn’t believe it.” It was certainly something one needed to see for themselves, but seeing Padfoot there, in front of him, he was the exact same black dog as he’d seen in his dreams on multiple occasions.
Sirius transformed back into his normal self and smirked cockily at his boyfriend. “See? Pretty impressive, huh? I told you that I’d figure out a way to do it myself!” He walked over, kissed Remus firmly on the lips, then turned and headed towards the kitchen. “And now food, because I’m starving, and you’re wonderful for feeding me.”
“Extremely impressive. How did you even find out you could do it in the first place?” Remus asked, following Sirius back into the kitchen after he’d returned the kiss, “And if I didn’t feed you then chances are you probably would have just had ramen and I think Thai is much better than ramen.” He moved to the cabinets to gets two plates and utensils.
“Stubborn determination. I had some more dreams and realized that I had to figure out to do it no matter what.” Sirius was rummaging through the bag, opening containers until he found the one he liked. “Naw… not ramen. Probably would’ve ordered out for pizza or something.”
“Well, I’m extremely impressed.” Remus smiled as he set the plates on the table along with the utensils and began putting food on his plate, “Does it hurt? Transforming.” Remus knew, from the dreams, that his own transformation was incredibly painful and he certainly wasn’t looking forward to that when it eventually happened. “And thai is much better than pizza.”
Sirius actually had to pause and think about that for a moment. “Hmm… no? To be honest, it’s not something I noticed. So I don’t think so.” He shrugged his shoulders and finished fixing his plate. “In your opinion, Thai is better than pizza. But you like Thai a lot more than I do. Either way, thank you for dinner. And now if something happens and you do transform like I saw in my dream, I can help keep you under control.”
“I’m still not looking forward to it, but if it happens at least I won’t be alone now,” Remus smiled as he finished making his plate as well, “Severus is working on the wolfsbane potion as well, so if it works, when it happens, I should be able to keep my wits about me.” Maybe, just maybe, this Werewolf thing wouldn’t be so bad.
Sirius still hadn’t encountered Snape here in this reality. But the one in his dreams? Ugh. He couldn’t stand the man and doubted that he ever would. “Just make sure he’s not going to poison you or anything,” he grumbled under his breath.
Remus smirked and reached out with his free hand to run his fingers through Sirius’ hair, “I promise you that he won’t try to poison me. He’s nothing like his dream counterpart. He has a wife and daughter and we’re quite good friends. You have nothing to worry about.” He would have to get Sirius and Severus together soon so that his boyfriend could see just how different the other Wizard was from the dreams, “Now, for someone who was so very hungry, you’re doing an awful lot of talking and very little eating.” He teased, picking up his own fork and taking a bite of his food.
Sirius shrugged his shoulders and shoveled some of the food into his mouth. “You know how I can get. I was starving, but then got distracted by showing off Padfoot to you. And then you brought up Snape, so whatever.” He ate some more of his food and finally walked over to the table and sat down. “But thank you for feeding your hungry boyfriend in his hour of need.”
Remus followed Sirius to the table and sat down across from him, smiling, “You’re very welcome. What kind of boyfriend would I be if I let you starve, after all?” Not for the first time, Remus was extremely glad that things had worked out between the two of them and they had gotten this second chance, “Next time, perhaps I’ll cook dinner instead.”
“Next time I want pizza,” Sirius replied with a chuckle. He grinned across the table and winked.
