"You tell no one. Not Jubilee. Not Mai. Not Zu Zu. No one. Promise?"
Who: Azula and Ty Lee
What: Azula comes back from San Fran and the two come to a..thing. Of sorts. There's spontaneous pillow combustion.
When: A few days ago
Where: Condo!
Status: Complete
Rating: PG-13 because Azula is a bitch.
Azula didn't know why Ty Lee wanted her home so soon, but she didn't really mind. She needed to talk, anyway. Her left arm was still sore from the new tattoo. It was practically a requirement for the new job, though she'd insisted on something small and simple enough that she could use coverup and a shirt to cover it. She settled the mask onto her face and opened the front door.
This was probably all going to go... well, not as planned, and Ty Lee was certain of it. But she felt like she needed to do something to keep Azula from forgetting about their emotions completely. Her talk with Jubilee had given her a lot of completely false confidence in this endeavor, so there she was, sitting on Azula's bed.
In something very slinky. The slinkiest thing she could find to wear. She'd done herself up as nice as she could, too, and put on some of that lip gloss that Azula always complained smelled too delicious.
She ruffled her hair a bit as she heard Azula come through the door, and bounced in place on the bed.
Azula looked around, not seeing Ty Lee anywhere. Except her bedroom door was ajar. She narrowed her eyes, drew a taser (standard, not modified for her pleasure), and edged towards the door. She kicked it open and...
Stared. She kept her mask firmly in place. But she stared.
That was certainly nothing she ever expected to come home to, in any scenario she could have envisioned. Ty Lee had managed to render Azula speechless. And a little angry. That Ty Lee had presumed anything.
That Azula had let herself lose enough control to let her facade crumble enough for Ty Lee to be able to presume in the first place.
Crumble enough that she was still standing there, staring.
This wasn't one of those moments where Ty Lee could easily gauge Azula's mood. In her mind they'd stepped outside the realm of normal everyday interactions already, and she wasn't sure anymore how she was supposed to act or what she was supposed to say.
It was freeing in a way that was at times utterly terrifying. Like right now, with Azula just staring at her. Silently. She chewed her lip a bit and stared back, with no mask on her face. Azula was expressionless, but that didn't mean there weren't feelings underneath there. She wanted to see if her own emotional expression would coax Azula's out to the surface.
Azula's eyes looked over Ty Lee, in that low cut, slinky dress. She stepped into the room, and dropped her bag onto a chair. What she felt was conflict. She wanted her. She'd always been attracted. But this was a different want, one she didn't want to face or believe was even possible. She wasn't supposed to have her. Azula was the cold bitch, the perfect daddy's girl, there was no room for legitimate feelings.
Then she walked over to the closet. She was still wearing the suit and skirt from the business meeting, and she wanted out of the jacket. She hung that up carefully, then turned around as she was loosening the tie. This whole time, she said nothing.
She met Ty Lee's eyes. That was a mistake. Azula found it suddenly very hard to breathe. She walked towards the bed, and took the woman's chin in one hand, tilting her head up and holding it tight, "Is this what you want?"
She'd been sitting there on pins and needles watching Azula casually and quietly go about her business. It made her so very anxious that by the time Azula came over to her her nerves were all on end. The fingers brushed against her cheek like lightning and then held on like fire, forcing Ty Lee to gasp.
There was absolutely no hesitation in her eyes or voice when she answered, "It is, if that's what you want."
Azula leaned down, as if to kiss her. Her lips were tantalizingly close to Ty Lee's, a little buzz in the air between them.
Breath hot, Azula whispered, each word like a spark, "You tell no one. Not Jubilee. Not Mai. Not Zu Zu. No one. Promise?"
"So," Ty Lee whispered, while searching Azula's eyes with hers, "It's like a secret?"
"I don't want to share," Azula said simply. Her own eyes softened, just a little, "So yes, a secret."
"Azula..." I love you. I shouldn't love you, I don't know why I love you, and sometimes I wish I didn't love you, but I love you, and I don't want to have to hide our love, "It can be our secret. I promise."
Hiding mean deniability. It meant keeping Ty Lee to herself. It meant no awkward talks with her father. It meant she didn't have to admit to herself how Ty Lee made her feel - or at least she could pretend. Azula straddled Ty Lee, pushing her down so she was laying on her back, and kissed her. Gentle for a single heartbeat, before there was fire and passion and a literal shock.
This was far more intense than Ty Lee thought it'd be. She felt for a second like Azula was going to burn her with her lips, and that wasn't scary at all, in fact she wanted more of it. She didn't have the same kind of fire within her, not the ability to make it like Azula had in her dreams, but she kissed Azula like she was going to burn her anyway.
This was better than when she'd lost herself. Azula was in control. Of the kiss, of the situation. The way Ty Lee responded fueled her fire, and she worked her fingers into her friend's dress, pulling it down her shoulders. She deepened the kiss further.
There were barely enough higher mental functions available to observe that Azula was trying to get the dress off of her shoulders, but the part that did wondered why they were suddenly moving so quickly. Hormones and the fact that Azula was finally paying attention to her in the way she'd always wanted overruled the part that was worried about it. She had no idea what she was doing, but she didn't let that stop her either.
She nibbled a bit on Azula's lips and started fidgeting with the buttons on her shirt. If clothing was coming off, then, well, two could play that game!
Ty Lee was touching her. That cut through the newfound haze of the situation and Azula had to think about that even as her hands found the other woman's breasts. People simply weren't allowed to touch her. As the Blue Flame, she never allowed it. With the few other lovers she'd had, she'd preferred being the one to touch, though she'd on occasion allowed a little bit of being touched.
With Ty Lee, Azula wanted to be touched.
This confused the hell out of her.
What was currently confusing the hell out of Ty Lee was breasts. Wow. Why had she never noticed those before? They were so round and soft and sensitive to the touch. What base were they on now? Wasn't there something about bases? Breasts were amazing. She decided she was on the breasts base, and got as grabby as Azula let her.
Azula arched into Ty Lee's hands. She was feeling feverish. She so rarely let herself just enjoy this kind of thing with someone. Let alone have any feels while she was doing it. Azula groaned, breaking the kiss to get some much needed air.
And promptly set fire to her pillows.
It was the heat that Ty Lee noticed first. She glanced in the direction the heat was coming from and her eyes widened, "Azula! The pillows are on FIRE!"
If there was a team for people who stated the obvious, Ty Lee would proudly be its captain. She tried to remember where the nearest fire extinguisher was or what else you're supposed to do when your pillows are on fire, but Azula was still straddling her. Her first order of business was to contort around to get out from under her, then she ran to the kitchen.
Azula was staring at the fire. That had come out of her mouth, she was almost sure of it. She even let out an excited little woop before Ty Lee squeezed out from underneath her.
Of course, to most people, fire is bad. Azula realized this could get out of control, and held out her hand. She started to twist her arms through the air, pulling the fire towards her. It turned from yellow to blue as it moved towards her, and then burned out before it reached her.
Ty Lee ran back into the room with the fire extinguisher in her hand, primed and ready to go! Then stared at the bed, because the pillows weren't on fire anymore. Nothing else had been added to the bed or changed position in a way that implied that Azula had beat or smothered the fire out. She was so very confused.
"... Where did it go?"
"I bent it away." Azula looked down at her hands, her expression a mixture of joy and shock. Frustration settled in as she realized the flowing of her chi was no longer sufficient enough to start even a flame. She turned and looked at Ty Lee, as if the girl was somehow responsible for the sudden flame.
If she paused to think about it, maybe Ty Lee was.
"You... what?"
Ty Lee stared at Azula, dumfounded for almost an entire minute. She looked quite the picture standing there, fire extinguisher in hand like a weapon, dress half falling off of her, hair all mussed up, and completely, utterly, confused.
Azula took the extinguisher from Ty Lee, and set it by the bed. If she started burning things in her sleep, she wanted it nearby. Not that she'd admit she was worried she wouldn't be able to control it. But she was.
"I controlled fire." The sweat glistening on her face and down her mostly bared chest wasn't just from the pre-fire exertions. It had taken tremendous effort.
But this had become the happiest day of Azula's life. Ty Lee being part of it but she'd never admit it verbally.
"... Okay ... like in your dreams?" Ty Lee sat down on the bed, a little shaken by all of this and feeling like some of the wind had gotten shot out of her sails. Why did Azula have to be so shiny right now? It was distracting her from the concern over the fact that Azula controlled fire.
Unbuttoning the rest of her shirt and tossing it aside, Azula sat down next to Ty Lee, "It's real. It's not just a dream."
She decided to not think of the ramifications of it being real and her being locked away while Ty Lee, Mai and even Zu Zu left her. She put an arm around Ty Lee.
"I can ..feel it. The chi. I know it should come..It's second nature, it belongs to me."

"I can ..feel it. The chi. I know it should come..It's second nature, it belongs to me."
Where Azula sounded so pleased with herself, Ty Lee was less so. She was, in fact, desperately worried for her friend, now. It reminded her of the dreams in that other place, the ones that Azula was having, as well as her own. She'd had a few of them now, and though none of them had featured Azula directly, love and fear combined had always been at the back of her mind.
In the one dream Azula mentioned, Ty Lee had left her. Did fire-controlling have something to do with that?
"I know in the dreams, I learn about Chi and how it flows. But in this world it's not as easy as it normally should be," Ty Lee frowned, but leaned against Azula anyway, "I'm worried. You might set more things on fire."
"I'll keep the extinguisher in the bedroom. In case I can't control it if it happens." She had to admit she wasn't sure she could. She was sure she couldn't. Like it was a gift she'd been allowed, a small taste of what she was capable of. It was infuriating.
Azula pulled Ty Lee into her lap, and nuzzled her neck, leaving a bite mark. Starting a fire had done nothing to put out the one Ty Lee had started inside of her. It only made it hotter.
Those feelings actually frightened her, just a little. But she'd never admit it, even to herself.
Against Ty Lee's neck, she murmured, "Later, I'll need to get you a tattoo like mine."
Ty Lee seemed to look a bit less worried as Azula made assurances over the fire extinguisher being nearby. The mood had changed for her, but she didn't mind being pulled into Azula's lap.
She cherished the moments like this that she got, when they happened, beause she still wasn't quite sure how many of them she'd get or how often Azula would permit them. The nuzzling made her purr, and the biting made her gasp - it certainly reignited the mood that had been lost when Azula set fire to her pillows.
Mention of the tattoo made her put that aside for a moment, in favor of curiousity. "A tattoo like yours? Why?"
Azula showed her the tattoo on her arm. It was red, and small, and she'd drawn it herself based on her dreams.
"My father's given me some..job opportunities. I want you to be a part of it. The tattoo is a rite of passage." As Azula spoke, she trailed her other hand up and down Ty Lee's body, taking advantage of the situation in a way that was completely Azula.
"Job opportunities? Like what kind of job opportunities?" the other woman tilted her head to the side and looked over Azula's arm curiously. The shape seemed familiar to her somehow, "That symbol was in my dreams once, I think."
Azula's touch was welcome, and Ty Lee found herself leaning into it even as she seemed to tense up with worry over what this new job might be that Azula wanted her to take part in, "It won't get in the way of gymnastics, will it?"
"No, it won't." Azula kept her tone light, suggestively whispering into Ty Lee's ears, "I don't want you worrying about it until we get back. But I'd like to take you out next week, if you have some free time."
While she talked, she kept moving her hands. Touching here, caressing there, almost in time to her voice, "My dreams, too. It's our symbol. Our home."
"You want to take me out?" that part of what Azula had said was the only part that Ty Lee had really heard, and she clinged onto it. Azula wanted to take her out! It was almost like a date! A secret date that she couldn't tell anyone about!
That part still made her sad. Jubilee would never understand. She was scared she was going to lose her other friends in the process of all this, and she'd only just made a few!
"On a job, you-" Azula chuckled, moving her lips to Ty Lee's earlobe and nibbling lightly. She was trying to be nice and not call Ty Lee an idiot. Maybe a little reward for the risk, "We would have to go very far, for anything else. Do you have suggestions?"
She moved a hand across Ty Lee's left breast, then squeezed, digging her nails in slightly.
"Oh I--" she cut herself off as Azula started nibbling on her earlobe, wondering how Azula expected her to even think straight if she was going to keep doing that kind of thing while asking her questions.
Azula was touching her and asking her questions and being so open and honest with her! No, she was never going to get over that, "Well, we could go..." she trailed off and gasped, then picked her line of thought back up again, "We could go somewhere while we're in Japan, no one would even notice, there."
Azula stopped what she was doing completely. That was an actually really good idea that Ty Lee had just had! She pulled her head back and stared at her friend.
This might be the expression of feels. Little cracks forming in that hard shell around her heart.
"Ty Lee. If you keep...that's a good idea."
Azula thought her idea was good! She beamed a smile at Azula that would have made the grinch's heart grow 3 sizes that day, if Azula was the grinch. It would probably take more than that to get the cracks to widen further, but Ty Lee was willing to work on that.
She decided to do something a bit bold, and cupped Azula's face with her hands. Then? She kissed her.
Later, Azula would deny that she'd felt anything beyond the physical pleasure of the kiss, the heat between their bodies and the stoked fire in her belly.
Right now, her brain halted all activity, like a train derailed, because this was the exact same kiss from her dream.
Was that a bad thing? Ty Lee had no way of knowing that, or if it was a bad thing. What she did know was that she was back into that mood she'd been into before, and she was the one that wanted to take advantage of Azula, this time.
Azula wanted to see where this mood led them. She could deny things later, right now, she was full of want. She tried to whisper, sexily, but it came out more like a raspy croak, "Touch me."
